Right! Who would want to take in someone they doesn't know, even if it was just for the night, it was risky, although I looked pitiful enough for anyone to take me in. The woman wasn't at fault, nobody was. I was used to being rejected so this one wasn't new.
I left her house, not dejected but determined to find another place to pass the night.
Or maybe I was dejected but just didn't want to show it??
I smiled to myself telling Hera that everything will be okay, although she didn't ask me. She should be my companion who talks to me in hard times like this but Hera barely talks. She always find the need to converse with me when she's in pain or when we are in danger.
I wheeled my chair through the festival places as I didn't find the need to stop staring at anything. They were all having fun but to me, it wasn't fun. It was supposed to be for every werewolf but right now, it wasn't. They were shifting in merriment but not a twitch of the lips could be seen on me.
I walked through some trees and saw some light somewhere, for some reason, it attracted me. I walked into it and was surprised that there was a garden in there. Maybe the place could be safe enough for me to pass the night until I can figure things out tomorrow.
I walked in admiring every flowers in there, the scent of lavender was also smelled. It made me miss my scent but I dare not try bring my scent back right now else I'd only get into trouble if I ever met Alpha Zane.
I plucked a leave off the lavender tree and smelled it. The scent! I inhaled it and smiled. I could feel Hera bubbling inside of me.
I dropped the leave gently walking over to admire the other flowers and trees. It was such a beautiful garden and from what I had already seen and the distance I had walked. I could tell that it was a damn big garden belonging to someone in a high position.
I walked round it feeling peaceful for a moment after a while. I was able to forget all my troubles and everything about Alpha Kane. Too bad! I forget about Fiona also, everything causing me pain disappeared as I knew the garden was one of a kind. One that soothes anyone in pain.
I smiled, had my eyes closed feeling the breeze which sped into and past my skin as it felt like the world was just like the breeze. Calm and refreshing.
I heard footsteps approach me from behind, my eyes flung open in fear. I wondered who that was, the owner of the garden?? I wondered if I had trespassed or if I was going to be reprimanded for being here so I had my mind prepared.
I spun around, making my gaze meet that of the person who had walked in on me. My eyes opened wide with the view I saw. My hands shaking as I tried to control it all to no avail. Like damn! I prepared my mind for whatever was to happen but I didn't prepare enough. I haven't prepared enough.
I had encountered a man, a powerful one at that.
His grey eyes which bore into me, his coffee brown eyes which my eyes locked with, those tattos on his arms which was slightly revealed as he had a covered robe on. His tanned skin which I noticed with just a glance. Still staring and processing all these, my body was still shivering like I had been in the cold for hours when I've never been. It had been freaking days since it rained last.
Alpha Zane!!
My eyes finally blinked from staring at him for too long. He was staring at him with a cold face, one which I knows will never get to forgive me once i gets to know that he owns this garden which I sincerely hope he's not.
The man in front of me was just staring at me with evil and devilish eyes without saying anything. Damn! Wished he would say something.
His eyes was asking for answers to why I was there, who I was and how I got there. All which I would be forced to answer after he finally leaves his mute state and starts questioning my authority.
“Good—” I wanted to say but paused again, talking to Alpha Zane again after years. Trying to act now like I adore him and respects him.
I swallowed hard not letting my nervous actions show but those grey eyes never left me.
“Good day Alpha Zane” I said and paused, I wasn't expecting an answer from him and Yea! He didn't give a response.
“I'm Leona” I said, making a brief introduction without him asking, I had to get myself of this, that is, if it's a mess I got myself in with the Alpha of Moonlight pack.
He wouldn't recognize me through my voice, nor my name since he doesn't keep memories of people he had supposedly killed just like Alpha Kane had said.
Flickers of memory of that night came into my head. As I closed my eyes trying to wave it off. Gina! My legs! the deaths! Everything came rushing as I couldn't help but open my eyes which was almost turning red at that moment. But dared not look at Alpha Zane, he shouldn't see that, else my cover is blown.
“You!” His voice called as he quirked his eyes, his face hardening. If made my heart skip. He just called me like he had recognized me. I sniffled for my scent maybe that's the source of his findings but couldn't get the scent of lavender.
He didn't recognize me, did he?? I thought getting convinced that my Jasmine scent had not worked.
I shuddered in fear waiting for his next words but Zane didn't speak, he didn't! And that's getting me more anxious and more nervous!!!
The feeling I was having at the moment was not explainable, I felt like my heart could jump out of my chest. His voice struck me as I wondered if he recognized me. He must have done! If not, why would he beckon at me like he remembered killing me but was just realizing that I was alive. It wasn't my scent but he recognized it? I thought and swallowed hard then his voice came again. Stating at him, my eyes bore into him, with anger blooming from it. I didn't want to show it, I must not; else he'd find out about me and if he did. That would be the end of me and the end of Fiona because Alpha Kane won't let her be. The thought of getting killed twice by the same person sent fears clouding my mind. Although the first one, he hadn't succeeded but had my legs crippled. “Why are you in here?” He asked, his voice cold yet tender. All I could see in him wasn't the Alpha Zane I knew, I could see a total different man whose face wasn't the one I've always known. I was relieved that he has
“Aren't you going to deny it?” His voice came again, he was expecting me to deny it claiming I am one of his pack members but I knew better than to say that and do as he says. “You are right, Alpha Zane” I said, without stuttering. He smirked annoyingly, getting pissed off by my appearance. He must have expected me to keep the lie up so then it could be clear to him without anything hidden that I was in the pack for something, something which to him could only mean destruction. “I do not belong to the pack” I added, confessing to the truth that I don't know whether it would take my life right away or would make something worse happen to me. Whichever it is Alpha Zane decides to do with me, I'm sure I won't get defeated easily. Then Gina would be disappointed in me. She always had high hopes for me. And then I would be failing Fiona, letting her down and there were the other newly founded people I needed to save. I can't let all of them down by messing things up with Zane here. “I
That I am the one who was rejected by Alpha Kane all because of my disability which was all his fault. I really wanted to tell him; that I am Leona Kazan!!!I said none of that even when the urge to say it was so strong, I remained quiet. Not because I was scared of him, what do I have to be scared of? I'm already lame, disabled, I have nothing to lose, life for me ended years ago; when I lost my legs and my sister. Zane kept staring at me, or should I say glare. Someone said people cower at his feet whenever he looks at them. Was this the look they were talking about, because it's not as scary as they pointed it to be. But I still needed to play the pitiful card. I sighed, how I hated pretending. We kept on staring at each other, either of us not looking away. "Should I get the Royal guard here?" He asked again, this time in a more calm but dangerous tone. "Would you hurt a disabled girl?" I held my chest, feigning hurt. "You would proceed to hurt a lame, harmless young girl bec
I had breakfast at the motel with the little I had on me, I had come here unprepared as everything happened like a disaster. I had no time to prepare for using funds like this so I had only brought my little savings with me. The cruel man who had sent me here wasn't providing me any help or any resources but all he was doing was having men spy on me which I knew they were doing right now as I remembered Adrian's words. “We will be watching your every moves” After eating the breakfast which I had managed to get despite me not having a lot of money with me. All I was keeping the little I had on me for was to get a house. Shelter comes first. I was out of the motel as I was thankful to the woman for taking me in, I paid for the room but I was still thankful because it provided shelter over my head for a day. I tried searching as I walked to houses checking for houses but was told there is none or they couldn't accommodate me. It made me wonder what was wrong and why I wouldn't get
I didn't drag it further or ask her any more questions seeing she doesn't look like she was going to tell me even if I ask her again and again. “Needs a place to stay?” She asked seeing me stay quiet. “Hmm.” I muttered nodding my head. “I can cover you up on that, how about it? I will provide accommodation for you until whenever it is you are leaving and if you want to be in the moonlight pack forever, you are always welcome to stick with me to the end” she said and once again, I felt safe in the hands of a sister. The way she had said those words made it comforting, just like how Fiona and Gina had always cared about me. I felt like I could trust her. I smiled at her not wanting to thank her yet. It might be a prank, who knows? I barely know her and the foolish me is trusting her already. “What do you say?” She asked with a smile. “It's cool, thanks” I muttered as she wheeled me towards the direction of her house. Or maybe the house someone else owned? Wheeling away from the
She was supposed to let me be hearing how harsh I must have sounded. But she didn't. “It's okay, I understand your fear, people in Moonlight pack aren't like that” She said seeming to know why I really didn't want to take a tour. I sighed. It looked like she was winning and whatever I do, she will not leave me alone. I succumbed to her requests. “What fun would be in going shopping for groceries in the market?” I asked with a side eye. “Hmmm. It's not really a market, just like a large store, many things to feed your eye with” she explained. I thought about it again, it would be nice to check the whole place in, then I'd be able to learn how things work here, I would be able to know things that could make everything here easier for me. Things that would help me plan out my mission easily. That's surely a cool idea. “Okay then, let's go” I muttered and could see the smile on her face. One could think she won a lottery, she seems cheerful just like Fiona had always been but she's
I can't let anything happen to Fiona. I must do everything not to let what Alpha Kane is saying come to pass. Thinking about it sent shivers down my spine. Coming back to this pack to see Fiona in cold blood like he had said. I wouldn't allow that. “Take them away” Alpha Kane commanded, his voice husky and commanding. I stared as all the poor citizens were dragged away by guards with their face filled with terror. They were afraid as much as I am at the moment. As much as Fiona would be at the moment. How could a King do this to his own people, how? I wondered. It wasn't right. I looked around the garden, every pack member from the moonlight pack owned and headed by Alpha Zane were present. Alpha Kane and Gilbert weren't the only ones here, there were other guards too, the skilled ones who had been assigned to me. Even if there weren't any, I wouldn't be able to win against Gilbert in this condition.Alpha Kane had gotten to us so soon, and Gilbert, who my sister had trusted wasn't helping matters, he was here with Alpha Kane. I clutched more tightly to Fiona's hand. I wheeled my chair backward a bit like I could run away but I couldn't.He moved closer to me as I could feel my heart leaping continuously out of fear but I didn't let go of Fiona.I swallowed hard, awaiting what was going to happen. If Alpha Kane found them, then he'd kill them.I could see in his eyes as it screams anger, he was angry and was just about to show me.
