CHAPTER FIFTEEN BEING QUESTIONED

“Aren't you going to deny it?” His voice came again, he was expecting me to deny it claiming I am one of his pack members but I knew better than to say that and do as he says. 

“You are right, Alpha Zane” I said, without stuttering. He smirked annoyingly, getting pissed off by my appearance. 

He must have expected me to keep the lie up so then it could be clear to him without anything hidden that I was in the pack for something, something which to him could only mean destruction. 

“I do not belong to the pack” I added, confessing to the truth that I don't know whether it would take my life right away or would make something worse happen to me. 

Whichever it is Alpha Zane decides to do with me, I'm sure I won't get defeated easily. Then Gina would be disappointed in me. She always had high hopes for me. And then I would be failing Fiona, letting her down and there were the other newly founded people I needed to save. I can't let all of them down by messing things up with Zane here. 

“I knew it, and you were trying so hard to hide it which could only mean one thing, you were sent here” he said. 

That word tightened the reins of nervousness in my chest. I knew that he was only guessing, not sure of what he was saying because he had no proof but it still scared me, making me think he found me out. 

“That's no true Alpha Zane” I said, tears welling up in my eyes. To win him over, I have to be dramatic as hell; it isn't my thing but I have no choice. 

I could see his face softening just at the look of me tearing up. I guessed he wasn't that smart after all. I was faking the tears but he couldn't figure it out and I was actually thankful for that. 

“Still! You have to defend yourself!” Hera said, reminding me that he doesn't look convinced yet. 

“Right! I have to” I said back to her. 

I thought of what to tell Alpha Zane but couldn't find any. I was just so unlucky that my head, which was always full of ideas, went blank immediately when I saw Alpha Zane. 

“I only came to visit one of my relatives here in your kingdom and learning about the full moon festival got me excited and all I wanted was to make the visit although I didn't get to focus on the festival because of my situation” I said, shedding more tears in front of Alpha Zane who squinted his eyes staring at me trying to process if all I just said was a lie or the truth. 

I expected him to dismiss me taking pity on my disability but he laughed, his laughter resonated through the whole garden. 

Fear caught up to me as curiousness almost took the better part of me. I wanted to confront Alpha Zane asking him why he laughed at what he was supposed to speak nicely about to a woman who had a disability and needs help. 

“You are nothing but a mole” He said, taking slow steps towards me as my heart thumped more faster than its usual pace. 

I realized that he didn't believe that, lying using my disability didn't move him, it only made him want to believe that I was a spy sent by other packs who wanted to see his downfall. 

His guess must have been right because Alpha Kane wanted his downfall, he wanted to see him crumble, to see him in ruins until there was nothing left for him to call his own. 

I also hate the man in front of me, I also want to see him in ruins but it's nearly possible and Alpha Kane wants me to make it happen. 

It was in Alpha Kane's kingdom that my disability was something that could be used against me but here, right at the moment, Alpha Zane didn't look like he cared about it. 

He stopped right in front of me and I could imagine his brown eyes piercing through my skin but I dared not look up to meet his gaze. 

“You were sent here, it is obvious” Alpha Zane said, making me finally look up meeting his gaze, my eyes wide opened in shock. 

“That can never be true, Alpha Zane, how would a mere disabled like me try to infiltrate your kingdom per someone's order?” I said pleading innocence but he doesn't buy that. Fuck! He's stubborn and strong-willed like hell!!

“The more reason to be able to infiltrate my kingdom, since you are disabled, you are easy to manipulate, threatened or given offers which would change your life despite being disabled” He said with a smirk plastered on his face as I stared at him thinking about what he had just said. 

He was right, every word of his was right! Since I'm a disabled, I was easily manipulated by Alpha Kane, threatened by him and he even gave me choices of becoming his Luna if I would do his biddings. 

I kept silent thinking about those lost in my own thoughts, I was doing someone's bidding but people's lives are at stake here, I had no choice. 

“You are taking things the wrong way Alpha Zane” I said calmly, getting tired of the situation but I wasn't going to give up. 

“Do I need to get the royal guards before I make you speak? Who are you??” He asked as I stared into his face, my eyes teary. 

He just asked me about who I was and I really wanted to tell him. 

That I am the one who he had killed her sister a few

 years back, that I was the one who he had made to live a life full of thorns, that I am the one who he made her legs like this. 

That I am the one who was rejected by Alpha Kane all because of my disability which was all his fault. 

I really wanted to tell him; that I am Leona Kazan!!!
