CHAPTER EIGHTEEN HOME AGAIN LEONA

I didn't drag it further or ask her any more questions seeing she doesn't look like she was going to tell me even if I ask her again and again. 

“Needs a place to stay?” She asked seeing me stay quiet. 

“Hmm.” I muttered nodding my head. 

“I can cover you up on that, how about it? I will provide accommodation for you until whenever it is you are leaving and if you want to be in the moonlight pack forever, you are always welcome to stick with me to the end” she said and once again, I felt safe in the hands of a sister. 

The way she had said those words made it comforting, just like how Fiona and Gina had always cared about me. I felt like I could trust her. 

I smiled at her not wanting to thank her yet. It might be a prank, who knows? I barely know her and the foolish me is trusting her already. 

“What do you say?” She asked with a smile. 

“It's cool, thanks” I muttered as she wheeled me towards the direction of her house. Or maybe the house someone else owned?  

Wheeling away from the rough parts of the roads, Haelyn talked all through thinking I was listening to her but I wasn't. I was registering all the routes we had passed by into my head. I does that often being in an unknown place for the first time. 

We got to places where the roads were smooth and clean. From the look of things and buildings around it, it looked like an estate. An area much better than the others. I wondered if truly Haelyn's house was around here. 

Soon enough, she stopped in front of a house which had bamboo gates, she opened it and wheeled it in. The house was just like the others, big and gigantic houses. 

We entered and she unlocked the door, clearing all my confusions as I was made to believe that the house truly wasn't a prank. 

She got me in and I marvelled at the sitting room. It was damn large. The chandelier hanging in from the ceiling. The wallpaper in the sitting room which anyone could notice that it is rare although it looks old. I took in the environment in a second as I couldn't help but think that she was one prominent person in the kingdom. The house has said it all!!

“You must be pretty rich or your…..parents must be pretty rich” I said, hesitating to mention her parents, I don't know if she had one. 

“It's okay, I don't have them, family members” she said like she had been linked with my mind when she's not. 

“Oh! I'm sorry about that?” I said. 

“Guess I found the killer, you killed them” she said and I quirked eyes wondering what she meant by that. Her face wasn't cold and she was smiling but then she just called me a murderer who killed her family. 

“Why would you be sorry about it when you did nothing wrong” she said and laughed. 

I heaved a sigh, she was actually joking. I seriously need to stop taking everything the serious way. 

I smiled at her joke and she walked round the house. 

“I'm not any rich like you've thought, many people always get mistaken about that, the house belonged to my grandparents, passed to my parents and then to me” she said and chuckled. 

“Oh! I see” I muttered. 

Even at that, the house was hers, the house alone is a fortune. 

“Anything you want to eat?” She asked. 

“Anything” I replied and she nodded as she quickly moved to the kitchen which I assumed was at the end of the next room. 

My mind drifted to Alpha Zane while waiting for her to come back. How I would get to him and complete the task I was given. He wasn't as cold as before and that made me worry. It should actually made me glad but I got worried instead. It could be an act, I knew Alpha Zane too well, he is too smart to be fooled. 

Maybe he was actually being considerate to a woman who was disabled and looked like she needed help. 

Soon after, Haelyn came back with a plate as she placed it in front of me. 

“Thanks” I muttered as I checked the food out. 

She made me burrito and chicken nuggets. I smiled again. “Thanks” 

The food was delicious and crispy. It looked like I was home again, but it wasn't enough to make me forget my worries as I are it with heavy mind. Soon after, I finished the food while Haelyn watched me all throughout.

“You eat so well” she said making me smile. There was no way when it come to that. Gina always tell me that too, that I eat quite a lot.

“Let's take a tour round the market, I have to go get some groceries, it would be better than staying home all day” She said and I gulped. 

She was right, taking a tour would be better than being here all alone but I can't risk the pack members gnawing at me, calling me names and talking about me behind my back all because of my disability. 

“No, I would pass, I will be fine here alone” I said, trying to fake a reassuring smile but she was adamant. 

Whatever it is! It's a no for me, I won't go, it made me recall back in Alpha Kane's kingdom, how I had been ridiculed by all the pack members who were supposed to protect me. Hell! Why would they? 

They called me names and treated me badly, I wouldn't want to risk making the same mistake of walking around here when I could easily avoid all those by staying at home. 

“Why won't you go? It'd be fun!” She said trying to persuade me but I wasn't willing to oblige. 

“Haelyn?” I called harshly. 

“I won't get a tour around the market, please leave me be” I said in a harsh tone yet still trying to be gentle.
