CHAPTER TWENTY LEONA

I can't let anything happen to Fiona. I must do everything not to let what Alpha Kane is saying come to pass. Thinking about it sent shivers down my spine. Coming back to this pack to see Fiona in cold blood like he had said. I wouldn't allow that. 

“Take them away” Alpha Kane commanded, his voice husky and commanding. 

I stared as all the poor citizens were dragged away by guards with their face filled with terror. They were afraid as much as I am at the moment. As much as Fiona would be at the moment. 

How could a King do this to his own people, how? I wondered. It wasn't right. An Alpha is supposed to take care of his people, he's supposed to show love, and unite his pack members together but here Alpha Kane is doing none of it. 

The smug smile which looked like an award he had acquired didn't leave his face as he kept his gaze on me, back to Fiona then back to his people who were being dragged away. Hell am I saying! Not his people, I'm sure those people weren't seeing him as they anymore. Even if they were before they got out of the prison, now they wouldn't. He fucking ordered for one of them to be slashed just now, and even threatened me with the others head which I was sure was a mere threat. If I failed to deliver like he wants, I dread what could happen. 

“Let's go” He said leaving, heading back to the pack, and his Beta bowed following him while dragging Fiona along, she whimpered in tears as I watched not being able to say anything. “You will be fine, you will surely be, just stay strong for me, okay?” I signed to Fiona whose eyes were on me as she nodded. 

I couldn't help but stare until they were out of sight. Until Gilbert dragged Fiona away till I couldn't catch a glimpse of them anymore. 

I hate him, I fucking hate him right now, Gilbert! For deceiving me and Fiona by acting like he truly care about her, for treating Fiona that way and not feeling any remorseful. 

“You will surely pay for this!!” I said amidst gritted teeth. 

I wasn't sure of what I had just said, if I could make that happen, when it'd happen, how it'd happen, I didn't know but I knew it would surely happen but when?? 

It could be after Fiona die, or after I die, or after all those people dies, I sincerely don't know. 

“Let's go!” I heard someone said from behind me and I turned shuddering. I had forgotten about the guards he left with me as I was focused on the path the Alpha and his Beta had exited with my sister. 

I only nodded indicating I heard them and we begin journeying. A journey that I wasn't willing on embarking. A journey that a life got lost because of it just moments earlier. 

We walked through trees and towns, bushes and forests as it took time getting to the Moonlight pack. 

The night walked in on us in between the forest as we tried finding where to pass the night. I could hear the guards talking among themselves. I was tired and exhausted already and I hope they find somewhere to make us sleep until the very morning. 

“We could easily spend the night on the branches of the trees but we can't because of her, she's crippled” One of them said turning his face to me in disgust. He was telling that to his colleague who also turned his gaze to me staring at me like he didn't know I was crippled until now. 

Right! I'm a liability to them as they had said. They were royal guards trained to know what to do in situations like this. But she was with them and they couldn't do things their way. She didn't feel sorry for them as it wasn't her fault. It was Kane's fault to begin with!!

“Don't think we are stopping, we won't get a wink of sleep nor a minute of rest not until we reaches the Moonlight pack. 

The Alpha's third in command, Adrian said with cold glare, his eyes boring into the others. He turned his gaze back to me, the face showing the same disgust everyone had been showing me. They were all the same, not even a single human among them!! Looking down on me like I'm not a member of the pack. 

Right! They were only doing Alpha Kane's bidding but they also had no sympathy towards their fellow werewolf all because I am disabled and their Alpha had rejected me. 

I felt my heart hurt at the mention of the rejection. It hurts but Hera is hurting more than this. 

We continued walking just as he had said and I knew we were almost there so I gathered a lot of strength again despite being fucking exhausted. 

Candles, dim lights, wish balloons, and many others all in the air as I need no one to tell me that we are here in Moonlight pack. Here in Alpha Zane's kingdom. 

I stared for a while taking in the environment, it had changed a lot from when I was first here. I was nearing my mission by being here in the pack. 

I swallowed hard as the night wave hit me, making the realization hit me, that the mission I was sent here on was real! And I have to face it at all costs. 

Adrian's voice brought me back out of my trance. 

“We will be watching your every moves, you dare not act smart else your sister dies” He said, a mere guard threatening me!! Gilbert was no different from the Alpha and the third in command too wasn't. 

There they go again!! Threatening me with the life of my only sister, Fiona!!

But this time, I wasn't scared as I had that determination; the determination of doing everything within or beyond my powers to save her!!
