Chapter 2

" Kelly, what are you doing here, go home. Wait , why are you dressed like that ? "

Kelly looked at Cody and continued to do what she was doing which was drinking her strawberry Daiquiri and doing stuff on her phone .

" Kelly, I'm talking to you . "

He placed his hand on her shoulder and she removed it .

" Don't touch me ."

" Do I repulse you that much? "

Kelly stood up from where she sat and looked at Cody. She did feel something though and that was a feeling of irritation and confusion.

" I don't want you to touch me. I don't want you to come near me. I don't want you to do anything to me, in fact I want nothing to do with you. This just goes to show how stupid I was to allow you to make a fool out of me with my best friend, on top of all things and I would never do that to you I would never do what you did to me make me believe that something is what it is when it really isn't you should have told me that you had gotten me the gig I would have gotten a job somewhere else at another magazine."

" You're nothing without me I made you who you are today I got you that gig and surprise surprise I'm the one who made sure that you were not home, while I was doing the nasty with your best friend who and I realize it wasn't really a true friend because true friends don't do what she did but she knows me and she's willing to stick with me."

"Wait until you go through hard times then you realize that you picked the wrong girl. I would advise you to stay the hell away from me; because if you can get me out of the place that I've called home for five years and you made it quite clear that you want my best friend and not me and I accepted it. Then you have no influence over me in any way. "

Melissa had gone to the bathroom to go powder knows or do some crazy stuff that she needed to sort out before she could spend the night with her new boyfriend who was her best friend's boyfriend as crazy as it sounded she in her head thought that it was right to take someone else's man and she also thought it was right to have a secret relationship with Cody behind Kelly's back.

When she saw what was going on she couldn't help herself , in her head she thought that Cody was trying to get his ex-girlfriend friend back because he felt guilty about what he did but then again every time they made love he would scream out the wrong person's name in this case he would scream out his real girlfriend's name instead of Melissa's name .

She walked as fast as he could to the bar and slid her around Cody's bicep and kissed his cheek just to make a statement.

" Hey Kells get your own man."

Kelly and Cody were the middle of a serious conversation she wanted clarity as to why he did what he did ,and he wanted to explain himself and they were almost at the point where they were finding middle ground and part as friends when Melissa decided that it was okay to interrupt them, but she found it very rude and she found it irritating that the one person that she trusted with all her secrets concerning her relationship was the one person that was using her insecurities against her to win someone that wasn't hers to begin with.

Kelly took a deep breath and looked at Melissa. She said nothing to her and focused her attention on Cody .

"I should have told you how I was feeling instead of telling my best friend I told you but then again she's not my best friend anymore but I should have told you how I was feeling. I thought of it just hiding it all and started trying to be perfect but that wasn't reason enough to do what you did. what you did is unforgivable and I don't think that I could open any doorway or allow you to do what you did to me again maybe in the future we could be friends but right now I do not want to be friends with you I do not want anything to do with you or the person that just came now that I regarded as a friend."

"If it makes you feel any better I also take full responsibility for the situation we're in right now. I should have just called you and asked you to talk to me and made it easy for you to talk to me because I expected you to be perfect I wanted you to be perfect and you were trust me anyway but I just wasn't getting what I really needed from you and you were taking your time I should have never pursued a relationship with you knowing that I was going to hurt you and for that I'm sorry."

" I guess it's a lesson that I have learnt and that's to stop breaking my heart for someone who wouldn't break their heart for me to save me. I'm tired of breaking my heart to save bad boys and I'm done with you and especially with you Melissa we are no longer friends because friends don't do what you did to me."

Melissa was feeling ignored by the two people that she broke up and she needed attention that Cody was giving to Kelly. Kelly knew her well enough to anticipate her next move but before she could figure out what you could do to counteract what she was about to do Braden hugged her from behind by wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her temple. At that moment Cody felt a tinge of jealousy and it reflected on his face , because he knew that Braden could rival him in anything and win the most important prize of all … Kelly .

Cody had forgotten that Kelly had chosen him over everyone else that wanted to be in a relationship with her and she still remained friends with some of the guy friends that wanted her but had lost contact with them when she decided that she was entering in a relationship with Cody, but the one friend that she kept her own and the one friend that she's always had that has been a constant in her life even before Kelly and him met was Braden. He didn't look like a Rockstar. He looked like a Greek god with blue eyes and brown hair ,and it reflected in the way that he was built his physique was that of an athlete and a model rolled into one he didn't know what it was about the Storm family but they all had good genes.

" Hey Braden I was just wrapping up a few things and tying up a few loose ends . "

She turned around to give him a proper hug and a kiss . Braden kissed her back, gave her a hug and kissed her forehead.

" You look beautiful tonight . "

Kelly smiled at Braden and chuckled.

" Tonight ? "

" Always and I can't believe I get to call you mine. "

" Get used to it. "

" Come on, let's go. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting."

" It's okay. I've had a hectic night and I think I made the biggest mistake by thinking someone was the one when they weren't so I want to try to fix it. "

" His loss."

As Kelly and Braden were walking away, Cody decided to Pull the mother of all stunts he got down on one knee and asked Melissa to marry him. The hotel lobby was filled with the who's Who of the entertainment industry and they didn't know about Kelly and Cody's breakup until, Cody got one over Braden or so he thought. Before she could catch her breath everyone's phones started blowing up and when she took out her phone she had seen the post that Melissa had put up telling everyone about what had happened earlier that evening.

Braden was the type of guy who always had everything under control and kept his private life private, the last thing he needed was a scandal. Kelly knew that the press would label him as a homewrecker and she didn't want that. As soon as she saw the cellphone camera lights flashing , her worst nightmare had come true and her best friend was caught in the middle. Braden held her gently but firmly on her waist and whispered in her ear ;

" Kelly I've got you. "

She hugged Braden and gave him a peck on the cheek.

" Braden I love you and you don't deserve any scandal. This is my mess and it's my heart that's been broken. It's not your job to pick up the pieces. "

" But I want you to let me be there for you. "

There was a loud bang and confetti started falling around and balloons fell from the ceiling. He let go of her for one second and he had lost her. In the crowd of people, he signaled for the bartender to switch on the light but when he did everyone was celebrating Cody and Melissa's engagement. He had organized an engagement celebration for the wrong people and he was mad at himself for not canceling the surprise when he found out about Cody's cheating ways.

The area that they were having the party in was almost impossible for him to go out because there were lots of people who wanted to talk to him and he had people asking him to organize the same thing for them in case they wanted to propose which meant that he was going to be busy for the next couple of months and weeks because the establishment that he owned was a popular establishment and apart from the fact that his best friend's heart was broken again in his presence and he was making money out of the scandal that had occurred and the engagement that was spectacular because nobody knew about Kelly and Cody breaking up except for the people closest to them and now everybody knew that they had broken up and that he was going out with her best friend it was complicated but lucrative anyway because the party went on for hours and hours until 6 a.m. in the morning because everybody was excited and they were shocked at the same time about what had happened and what had transpired.

By the time everything had to come to an end and the cleaning staff was starting to clean up the area, Braden had tried to call Kelly 50 times to no avail iPhone with just ring and go straight to voicemail and if it wasn't that should just send the call straight through to voicemail when he tried in the morning again the phone just went directly to voicemail it was off which meant that she didn't want to be found and she didn't want to talk to him for fear of what had happened last night and what had transpired.

While everything was going on and the celebrations were taking place the night before, Kelly realized that he had nowhere else to go and had enough money to buy ta a property but she couldn't find a place that she could afford and maintain because she had lost her job and she had found out that the job that she had was curated by her boyfriend because he wanted to have his cake and eat it and he didn't love her which made things worse because she believed to lie and she believed that her whole life was a lie and she needed a fresh start. She didn't leave a note for Braden because she thought that he would want nothing to do with her after what happened and what transpired between her and Aiden before she also left him without a word… That was a lie because Braden was looking for her everywhere but she was already gone she was already halfway home as in her hometown.

When Aiden woke up to an empty bed the next morning he was left wondering if the night before was a dream, because it was magical and mind blowing. He too was obsessing about Kelly's whereabouts because he'd never been with someone who just understood him like Kelly did ;not only on a physical level but on an emotional and spiritual level too . He had to see her again , even if it was to make things official with her.

Kelly never one to stay in one place for a very long time and home was the only place that she knew was stable was the only place she knew that she had a place of her own that she can call her own was at home with her mother. She had secretly bought the house next door to her mother's house. She did that to always remember where she came from and how far she has come as soon as she was dropped off by the house, she opened the door and placed her belongings by the atrium, grabbed her overnight bag and headed upstairs to her bedroom. It was cloudy when the driver drove her but it started to rain when she went inside the house .

She knew that she had to be strong and find a way out of the mess that was her love life . She switched on the charging plate and called it a morning . She didn't want to talk to Braden or anyone . She just wanted to be left alone .
