Chapter 3

Aiden was never one to miss out on an opportunity in fact if he was offered an opportunity he would grab that opportunity with both hands and I'll be committed to it .Kelly again was one he wouldn't pass up .

There was something about her it was something so alluring something so attractive and something so intoxicating about her that he couldn't put his hand on and it wasn't because he was attracted to her it was because he had never felt comfortable with anyone around him except for the people that knew, he knew this person was connected to his cousin and she was a lovely person he wanted to get to know her but it seemed as if fate had other plans because when he went downstairs for breakfast after a very hectic night Kelly wasn't there and his cousin was talking to the security staff , more like ; interrogating them about what happened last night he was to blame for what had happened with regards to Cody proposing to Melissa and everybody knowing that Kelly was no longer in a relationship with the rockstar and she was single and jobless because, the rock star managed to land her gig that she didn't know, he talked to someone to make sure that she was working around the clock so that they had less time together and he could cheat in peace but this time he had made the biggest mistake of his life or so he thought where his friend was concerned because Braden set up a surprise for Kelly but her ex benefited from it .

Aiden couldn't get over what happened between him and Kelly last night and if there was one thing he was good at , it was keeping things quiet until he was sure that it was a done deal. She left without saying goodbye and he didn't want to say goodbye to her he wanted her to stay .

As soon as Braden joined Aiden for breakfast he looked at him a bit disappointed and he knew they look all too well because the last time you gave him that look was when he told Aiden that his favorite team had lost and that the soccer club that he had just bought was the team that had lost the match that was very important for them to win the league.

Aiden wasn't also serious about owning a soccer club he was only serious about doing what he does best which was running a foundation that his mother and father set up for underprivileged kids who wanted to get into sports or do anything sports-related and it also didn't appeal to him to only club until now because they had won their pre-season tour and they were headed back home in a couple of days but he needed to see someone special and that special person was Kelly.

" Aiden I'm not going to beat around the bush and I'm not going to tell you what you need to know. What I am going to tell you is that the person you're looking for is not here. They left last night after the elaborate celebration that was going on."

"Stop confusing me and tell me what is really going on because of the many times that we've spoken to each other this is the most defeated you have ever looked and usually like getting one over me but in this case I'm thinking that you're gonna tell me something that I don't want to hear because I wanted to hear good news I wanted to meet her friend and what do I get the feeling that you're going to tell me that she's not here and that you did something to chase her away and if so is there anything you can do to fix it. "

" You have only met her once and that was in the hotel lobby. Her room was opposite yours and, if memory serves me correctly, you went earlier than expected so you must have bumped into her but in this case you didn't bump into her again."

" What if I did ? "

He flashed back to touching and kissing Kelly and as much as he wanted to give in and tell his cousin what was going on, couldn't.

" You didn't."

" Damn straight I didn't see her again because the party was very lit I mean if I get engaged I want you to throw a smaller party but not in this area because it would traumatize the person that I actually want to eventually get married to."

" As I said she is off-limits. She is just like a sister to me and I love her well... Recently I just figured that she's not like a sister to me but she's an amazing person and she's off-limits. I'm not going to repeat that again ."

"I'm not the type and you know that I'm not the type to take advantage of someone when they are going through a hard time however when opportunity knocks at your door you'd be stupid not to grab it with both hands so tell me what's your story and let's see if we can help her and probably find her because I can see that it's stressing you that you can't find her. "

" She doesn't want to be found . I called her. I've even tried to track her down but she switched off her phone eventually and when I tracked it because I'm one of her emergency contacts it said that she was on the highway and that highway leads to different places."

" Call Dante Rossi, he's your friend right ? "

" He is also Kelly's friend , and the type of guy who understands girls like Kelly. If you get to spend time with Kelly you'll realise that she's a keeper ."

" I do business with him . "

" I'm not getting into this conversation with you however I will tell you that your father called and he is very worried about you ,he knows that he did do something wrong by doing what he did but he is trying to make amends with you but you're not talking so what seems to be the problem because I know you very well either you want something that you want to get back at him for doing what he did, or you want to move on and just cover up your messed up life because you really need to break free from are you used to."

"I'm not going to lie to you I am dreading going back home ,but I have to go back home and let soon as I get back home I have to prepare for a trip again we have got to fix the company that he bought that I'm not passionate about but I have to somewhere somehow find the passion for what he decided to buy and make something out of it and then go back home that's what he does to people with companies and he buys them knows that they will make him money but at the end of the day I don't stay long enough to get to know everybody and just discover who I am without him. I mean I don't mind if I have everything provided for but I need to rediscover myself in a way that seems like he's not so hands on. "

" I understand what you mean and where Kelly is concerned she's going through a rough time her boyfriend managed to get her the job that she thought that she worked hard for , he decided to throw it back at her face and make her believe that she is nothing without him and was nothing without him so you can understand that she's one of those people that have always worked hard for what they wanted and she's always been smart ,but I just didn't like the guy she was with and that's the guy that proposed to her best friend last night ; now they are labelling me as a homewrecker which is what you didn't want and it's all over the papers it's all over the news but I set up everything else on the upside I've got so many requests for a similar engagement party or engagement surprise and surprise surprise I'm supposed to be working with my best friend's ex-boyfriend who I thought was going to be her fiance it's a mess but it's a mess that I will be benefiting from and in no way does it mean that I'm heartless it's just good business at the end of the day. "

" Will she understand? "

" If you were not older I'd question your motives but you do realize that you are older than her and there's a significant age gap and difference but that doesn't seem to bother you because you always go for the young ones even though the young ones seem to not want you ."

" I still look good for my age and besides I am going to take care of a couple of things abroad and I could really use assistant but my father has already hired an assistant so I don't need to worry about that although if you are saying what I think you're saying combined with what I read before I came downstairs for breakfast then I think my company would be the right fit for Kelly ."

Aiden smiled at Brayden. He was the type of guy who knew what he wanted and went for it but this time he felt that you should tread carefully because he's messed up before he always used to fall in love too quickly and end up getting hurt exhibit A ; his girlfriend running off with his father.

" Your ex ran away with your father and she's pregnant with your brother or sister ."

Aiden looked at his cousin and shook his head he knew that he was going to meddle because he had gone through hell the past couple of years with keeping the secret that had almost destroyed them as family and ever since meeting Kelly he has never felt like trying to be a better man and be the type of person that he always wanted to be and move away from under his father's wing but he had to prove himself and the first step was winning the pre-season tour which was won by his soccer club

He was leaving in a couple of days but he didn't feel like leaving the country that he was visiting until he saw Kelly again. He had honestly caught serious feelings for her and his heart could never be wrong about what it wanted.

" What did you do ? "

" If Lea is carrying your father's child, they can prove that the paternity of the child is legit . Then he can give him part of what is rightfully his . "

Aiden took a deep breath and wiped a tear that had escaped from his face. He was still hurting

"You know the part that hurts about this whole revelation is that it happened behind my back while I was working and my father made sure that I was working and I was away from home for quite a while and I couldn't just connect with the person that I thought loved me and then it turns out that she doesn't love me for me but she actually loved me for what I have to give to her and not what I bring to the table as his future husband. "

" I'm glad I could help you host your team and I'm glad that your team won so that you can show your father that you are serious about things that he thinks you should be getting serious about but I'm really gonna miss you and I want to visit you soon."

" I'm not going to be home for a couple of weeks so you can come visit me wherever I'm traveling to which is where I think I'm going to be staying. It's going to be an adjustment but I think I can handle it and besides , you know Kelly Blake . "

" I've been trying to call her and I've been trying to get her to talk to me but she's not picking up her phone she's not answering any of my calls and she thinks that the press was going to spend this whole thing around on me and give the hotel about name and it actually did the opposite the hotels name wasn't dragged through the mud the only person that was dragged through the mud when everything was made clear this morning by the posts that I send and the post that I had sent out by the social media team was that of Cody cheating on Kelly with her best friend.

It's something similar to the same thing your father did and the thing is that she is questioning everything right now and she could really use a break. I know her but when she literally needs time alone it means that she needs to rethink everything else or process everything that's happening that's why she left in a hurry. "

Aiden took Braden's phone, punched in the code and logged into his W******p and looked for his thread . When he found out he attached Kelly's number on a W******p message and sent it to himself he smiled at his cousin.

" I'm going to try to call her and talk to her because if memory serves me correctly you don't like talking about your feelings after something traumatic has happened so something did happen to her and she is going through a break-up well breakup that seems to just keep on giving ."

"I feel so bad. "

" I like her and I see why you like her too ."

" okay what happened last night?"

" wouldn't you want to know ? I don't kiss and tell."
