Chapter Twenty-nine

Kendall’s POV

Olivia’s words rang hollow, and I could sense the lie behind them. Something wasn’t right, and I was determined to get to the bottom of it.

Olivia saw the look I gave her, and she shrugged, setting the glass down on the counter with a casual gesture. “Just thought I’d grab a drink, Kendall,” she replied nonchalantly, though there was a glint of mischief in her eyes that set me on edge.

I narrowed my eyes at her. “And what about the baby?” I blurted out before I could stop myself, unable to hold back the question that continued to burn in my mind.

Olivia’s smile faltered for a fraction of a second before she regained her composure, her gaze flickering away from mine. “The baby?” she echoed, her voice with an uncertainty as she glanced down at her stomach almost not knowing.
