Chapter Thirty-five

Kendall’s POV

The pain had become unbearable, a constant ache in my heart as I sat silently in Caden’s house, hidden away from Declan and the rest of the pack.

Caden and I had agreed that it was best for me to remain hidden until he could find a way to convince Declan to take me back. But he had warned me that it wouldn’t be easy, that it would take time so I had to be patient.

As the hours dragged on and Caden still hadn’t returned, the weight of uncertainty disturbed me. I glanced anxiously at the door, wishing Caden would return that moment, so I could stop worrying, but the silence of the empty house offered no solace.

With each passing minute, my frustration grew, a restless energy coiling inside me like a caged animal.

Unable to bear the quiet any longer, I walked to the telephone phone and dialed Caden’s number for what felt like the hundredth time. But once again, there was no answer.

Feeling a surge of determination, I made a decision. I couldn’t wait here
