Chapter 28

Ariella's POV

Gazing out the car window at the scenery quickly receding, I felt the cool night breeze brush against my cheeks and neck, reminiscent of Matthew's tender, lingering kisses. I couldn't help but stroke my chest and neck, reliving the gentleness he had given me.

He said he loved me, and I heard it clearly.

I knew I could never refuse him, only drawn to him. Time and again, I've tried to keep my distance, but I've always failed. A fierce desire within me compelled me to draw near to him, time after time.

After returning to the dormitory, I took a bath and quickly fell asleep once I lay down.

Early the next morning, I went to the hospital. My mother had been discharged and had returned to the wooden house with my aunt. My aunt sent me a message saying that my mother was doing well and that I should not worry.

I finally breathed a sigh of relief and put my phone in my pocket, heading towards the office.
