LEAH’S POV

I stared at his quickly sent reply with a complicated look on my face. But before I could even type another message, my eyes widened when I saw him suddenly calling me.

My hands holding the phone slightly trembled. But I shook my head, trying to regain my composure.

I cleared my throat, before finally answering.

“Sorry for the sudden call.” Brixton’s deep and husky voice rang on the other end of the line, making my heart race even faster.

“I was… we were just so happy about it.” It was odd how I could seem to hear his smiling voice at this moment. I didn’t even know how to respond. I felt tongue tied as soon as I heard his voice.

“Did I… bother you?”

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts and stopping myself from getting distracted before I finally spoke.
