He dialed her number again for the eleventh time, only for the call to go into voicemail. To simply say, Jinx's getting frustrated.
He tossed the phone carelessly on the bed as he stood up. “What the hell is wrong with Jessica?” he grunted with his fingers dipped into his hair—it's been a week since he last saw his girlfriend. As absurd as it may sound, she's yet to call him.
Despite how much research he's made about her whereabouts, Jessica can't be found. While he contemplated hard about his girlfriend, the blaring ringing of his cellphone got his attention. With high hopes that it'll be a call from his beloved, he reached for it speedily.
Jinx's ray of hope dissipated the instant he stared at Leo's caller ID. He gritted lowly.
“What the fuck do you want?” he snapped irritatingly. At the other end, Leo's scoff of dissatisfaction was heard. “I had an idea you'll act like a total d×ck head because of Jessica, but still have some respect for my dumbass!”
“What do you want, Leonardo?!”
“There's no need to get all loud. The thing is, I spotted Gigi; Jessica's…. Friend” he replied In a mutter, although one could detect the hesitancy in his tone. Yet, Jinx shoved it aside before gasping happily.
“Where? Where!” he rasped with a smile lingering on his lips. Again, Leonard was reluctant to disclose the location, but after he got yelled by, he eventually did. Rapidly, Jinx slipped into a large hoodie, then rushed out of the room.
While he descended the apartment stairs quickly, happiness surged continuously through his veins; he's been so worried about Jessica, and now he can ultimately meet her.
He boarded a taxi to the club and kept pestering the taxi driver to go faster—he narrowly escaped engaging in a brawl with the driver, since his urges were slightly annoying. Arriving at the clubhouse, he found it as busy and frisky as ever.
At the entrance of the club, he met someone rather unexpected—Marie. Apparently, she happened to be at the door when he's coming.
“Hi” Marie waved politely while deliberately standing in his path. As much as he wanted to be less obnoxious, he's irritated. “What do you want?” came a low scrawl from him. “I wanted to talk to you the other day, but it seemed you were busy”
“And I'm not now? Girl move!” he attempted to slide away, yet she was adamant. Marie parted her arms and stood gallantly. “It won't kill you to have a drink with me, will it, sweetheart?” she pulled up a coquettish smile, which he only found vexing.
“It will; I don't mingle with bugs” Jinx smirked tauntingly. Her jaw dropped in shame, and he walked into the club, leaving her dumbfounded. Stepping in, his eyes searched for Leo frantically.
But it was a bit hard since it's fucking filled and the colored disco lights didn't help at all. “Where the hell is that bastard?” he gritted after his fruitless search. Having no other option, he had to step into the dance floor, but heading for the cellar.
Perhaps he might find Gigi there, and Leo won't be needed anymore. “Are you all animals!”
“Hey, don't step on me”
“Fuck, are you blind?”
“Hey …!”
Those were Jinx's angry groans while he walked through the busy dance floor—he almost got trampled over since everyone was so wild. Eventually, he made it to the cellar.
“The hell's wrong with these people?” he scoffed while settling on a high stool. The bartender smiled at him, already assuming it's his first time attending. “Pretty boy, is this your first time?” the bartender asked with a grin. “Yeah. What if?” He snapped, although he regretted it immediately—acting rudely to anyone is the traits of a jerk; he's no jerk.
“I'm sorry” Jinx muttered an apology. “Can I get a glass of whiskey?” he added a request. Instantly, it was provided. “It's on the house”
“Thanks!” he smiled before reaching for the glass cup. While he sipped the content slowly, a loud roar of excitement was heard. “Those assholes. This ain't no fucking brothel” the bartender shook his head slowly. Now Jinx was amused.
“Brothel?” Jinx repeated and arched his eyebrows questioningly. “Yeah. Some college couples are shamelessly going all out at the VIP reception”.
“In public?”
“Shockingly ain't it? Well, the b*tch involved is a real wh*re. Everyone here knows her. Ain't it pitiful how desperately her parents try to provide for her, and she's screwing every di*k in California?”
With the way the bartender spoke, Jinx felt extremely curious. So, he excused himself, stood up and then went over to the VIP reception only to have the greatest shock of his life. The glass of whiskey he held fell freely to the ground, and shattered into numerous pieces as he gaped unbelievably at his supposedly girlfriend—Jessica riding nakedly on some random person. She seemed so engrossed she never noticed Jinx.
The onlookers kept cheering her on and unlike them, Jinx was having a mental breakdown.
His legs became fragile, and his heart beat slowed down every second. “What the….” words failed him drastically, and he stumbled backwards, almost falling to his feet when two arms gripped him.
“Are you okay?” Marie asked, still holding him. “Take…take me out of here! Now… please.” he literally pleaded while oblivious of whosoever he's referring too. She smirked, then gladly dragged him out of the club.
Marie shoved a very disorganized Jinx into her car, got in and began the drive back to her apartment.
“Where is Jinx, for fuck’ sake!” he couldn't help but scream in desperation. Presently, he's wandering aimlessly in the club, hoping to spot Jinx at the cellar or anywhere. It's been half an hour since he disclosed the club's location, yet he can't find Jinx. Leonard, exhausted, went over to the cellar and settled on the high stool. He brought out his cell phone and, once more, dialed Jinx's number, only for the call to go straight into voicemail. “Oh fuck this” he mumbled angrily. The bartender narrowed his eyebrows at the cussing young man. “Something bothering you, pretty boy? A bottle of tequila might help” he said suggestively. Leonard sighed, then placed his cellphone on the table. “Nah. I ain't in the mood, I'm too worried about my friend. I told the fucker to get his ass down here, but I can't find him. Tch! That's the problem with introverts” he added with a light scoff. “A friend? And he's an introvert?” The bartender paused, recollecting the dazed young man he served ea
Never, for once, had he imagined something as gruesome as this would happen to him. His eyes trembled in their sockets while gaping at Marie fearfully. Jinx at that moment was overwhelmed with fear and his body shivered violently like a drenched cat. Marie, on the other hand, didn't seem concerned about his fearful gaze—after all, he is going to die tonight in a short while. “Delicious!” she gushed satisfactorily as she took a bite from the fleshy, hot and bloody organ. “You're… the serial killer?” Jinx asked faintly with blood accompanying his every word. He winced silently in pain; his body feels too feeble to cry for help—his eyes are getting drowsy, and he's aware he'll pass out any moment for now. Then again, Jinx didn't want to die; he can't die here, not in this way. Marie, done devouring his kidney, ran her slimy tongue all over her stained lips. “Yeah. Surprised, Mr. Armstrong?” she smiled widely but lethally. “You don't have to answer that, you're going to die soon anyway
Flickering his eyes weakly yet repeatedly, he finally snapped them open. At first, a sudden pang of tiredness invaded his system, but soon wore off rather quickly. The only sounds he could decipher were the beeping monitor and the slowly dropping pellets of the blood bag which is attached to his wrist via the use of a tube. Moments passed with Jinx ogling blankly at the ceiling, with literally no thoughts going through his head. He has absolutely no recollection of whatever occurred recently or why he's even laying on the hospital bed. Gently yet slowly, he arose from the bed without feeling even the slightest of pain. While he sat upright with his eyes lazily roaming around the room, the door got pushed open, and Lionel stepped in. He couldn't stop himself from smiling broadly, seeing Jinx conscious. “Mr. Armstrong. I'm so glad that you're awake!” Lionel beamed, as he advanced. Sluggishly, Jinx gazed at him—he furrowed his eyebrows silently yet doubtfully, since he's never seen th
Minutes passed by, yet Jinx was unable to move—he remained totally speechless, and entirely motionlessly with his jaw dropped. In that position, Leonard walked in, carrying a tray which contained their meals. He met Jinx, looking as pale as a ghost. “Dude, are you okay?” Leonard questioned while placing the tray on the center table. Then again, it seemed like Jinx was oblivious of his presence. Leo proceeded to tap his shoulder multiple times, which did the trick. “Y…yeah?” Jinx stuttered unintentionally as he batted his eyelashes at Leo. “You sure you're okay, dude? You seem somewhat pale. Is it hurting anywhere? Should we go back to the hospital?” he rasped worriedly all at once. It is evident that Leo is distressed—if Jinx is left unattended, he surely won't bother to go to a hospital. For some reason, Jinx despises the hospital with a great passion. He arose slowly from the couch and attempted to walk away, but got held back on the wrist by Leo. “What!” Jinx furrowed his eye
Flipping to the next page of his book, he smiled happily due to the immense joy he deprived in reading a good book. If there's anything he loves more than tranquility and his girlfriend Jessica, then it's reading a book. Without diverting his gaze from the pages, he sipped lightly from the cup of espresso that's in his possession. Jinx, engrossed in reading while sipping coffee, had grown oblivious of his surroundings—including his best friend, Leonard, who's seated across from him. “Dude!” Leo had grown angry since he's been ignored by Jinx for far too long. Swiftly, he snatched the book from Jinx's grip, and that brought him back to life. “Leo?” Jinx growled, seemingly pissed off. “Don't give me that look, you bastard. I've been talking to you for almost an hour, yet you didn't reply. If you want to read, do it at home, not in a goddamn café!” he snapped afterward. Exchanging words with Leonard is simply fruitless, so Jinx sighed softly as he leaned backwards on the chair. “And
