Minutes passed by, yet Jinx was unable to move—he remained totally speechless, and entirely motionlessly with his jaw dropped. In that position, Leonard walked in, carrying a tray which contained their meals.

He met Jinx, looking as pale as a ghost. “Dude, are you okay?” Leonard questioned while placing the tray on the center table. Then again, it seemed like Jinx was oblivious of his presence.

Leo proceeded to tap his shoulder multiple times, which did the trick.

“Y…yeah?” Jinx stuttered unintentionally as he batted his eyelashes at Leo. “You sure you're okay, dude? You seem somewhat pale. Is it hurting anywhere? Should we go back to the hospital?” he rasped worriedly all at once.

It is evident that Leo is distressed—if Jinx is left unattended, he surely won't bother to go to a hospital. For some reason, Jinx despises the hospital with a great passion.

He arose slowly from the couch and attempted to walk away, but got held back on the wrist by Leo.

“What!” Jinx furrowed his eyebrows questioningly at him. “Don't act like a fool, let's go back to the hospital….”

“No!” he sliced through his words aggressively. Forcefully, he yanked his wrist away and went into the bathroom. There, he shut the door violently to avoid unwanted attention.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!!” Jinx cussed repeatedly before dipping his fingers into his jet black hair; his head is scattered right now.

He went over to the sink, where he slashed water profusely on his face. Then he stared at his drenched face through the mirror—he felt sick; the fact that Marie's organ is in him, makes him so sick.

A sigh elicited from his lips, then he bit his lips. “I shouldn't get so worked up over this shit; I shouldn't. She's…gone. There's no way in hell she's coming back, Jinx!” He snapped lightly at himself.

His little pep talk was interrupted by a knock on the door. Afterward, Jinx heaved another deep sigh before leaving the bathroom.

Leonard was very apprehensive, then again Jinx reassured him that he's okay. Thereafter, they both had lunch.

Night came speedily by for Jinx, and he could be seen laying flatly on his bed while gaping blankly at the ceiling. The pest he calls a friend had already left a while ago, and Jinx couldn't stop himself from getting absorbed in thoughts.

The recent developments worry him like hell—how can he simply forget everything that transpired? What if Marie isn't truly dead?; that thought scared the hell out of him.

He definitely doesn't want to get eaten by a wolf—heck, do wolves honestly eat humans? He's sure they don't so why's Marie different!

“That fucking bitch” he muttered, standing from the bed. Dragging his feet, he went to the window which he opened, then gawked at the starry night. The soft breeze caressed his skin gently, making him so goddamn relaxed. Subsequently, his eyes met with the full, mesmerizing moon. Oddly, Jinx maintained his gaze on it for a long time, as if in a trance.

“Beautiful ain't it?”

He gasped, flinching fearfully the instant a voice spoke; a voice which belonged to Marie. His heart beat doubled in its pace immediately, and his throat felt so void of liquid.

Frightfully, he roamed his eyes around, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Yet, he didn't.

Jinx rushed to the bed and picked up his phone with the aim of calling Leonard. But he has a second thought—he would rather avoid acting ridiculous towards Leonard.

“No. No…she's dead. I…must be hearing things” he laughed hysterically, then again the fear in his heart persisted.

Eventually, Jinx wore something casual and left his apartment—he concluded a walk would be utterly helpful.

Jinx had only one destination in mind—the club. His journey there was quite short since the taxi driver was rather speedy. Done paying the bill, he headed into the wild club. As expected, it's filled with crazy individuals who danced as if their lives depended on it. Then again, Jinx isn't interested in dancing; he came to clear his mind from Marie.

Arriving at the bar, the same bartender he met the very first day smiled at him, seemingly happy to see him. “Hey. If it isn't the pretty boy” the bartender smirked tauntingly at him. Jinx managed to respond with a forced smile.

“Hey there. Can I get a bottle of whiskey?”

“Sure you can handle it?” Jinx didn't fail to detect the tone of mockery in his voice. “Don't think of me too lightly, man” he grinned widely at him.

Jinx settled on a high stool before he was served. “Ain't dancing?” came a question from the bartender as Jinx sipped from the glass cup. “Nah” he responded uninterestedly.

Strangely, a scent filled Jinx's nostril. He turned sharply, and his eyes met with Jessica, who's getting intimate with a random dude in a corner—not Jessica's shamelessness. Nah.

He now knows he's been dating a whore, but how the hell could he inhale her scent? — isn't that…extremely strange?

“Something's wrong, pretty boy?” The bartender's question drew him from his thoughts. Jinx merely shook his head negatively, clearly tongue-tied. Quickly, he gulped down the entire content of the glass cup.

“Another one please” he demanded softly. At the end, Jinx had seven shots of whiskey. “Get home safely, pretty boy!” the bartender waved while Jinx literally staggered out of the place; he's completely drunk.

His vision was really unclear, and his legs felt like jelly with his head feeling so heavy—he wants to lay down somewhere. Fortunately, Jinx was still sober enough to know the way home.

While he staggered out, he walked past an ally, since taxis aren't that frequent when it's very late. During his less sober walk, he inhaled her scent again.

“What…the hell?” he drawled, taking his gaze to a dark corner of an alley. Weirdly and although it's dark, he could clearly see Jessica and that random person from the club. They were so engrossed in lovemaking, they never noticed Jinx.

“What a whore” he shook his head, extremely disgusted by their act. Unexpectedly, Jessica's eyes met with Jinx. She gasped, sharply withdrawing from the man she's making out with. “Jinx!?” she called, rushing over to him with a nervous smile on her lips.

“Sweetheart, look, it's not what it looks like!” she rasped, obviously trying to explain herself—yeah. She's unaware that he knows. “Yo bitch!” the man she was with marched to Jinx and Jessica.

“Sweetheart, believe me. Y'know I'll never cheat on you” she tried to hold his hand, only for hers to get slapped by Jinx's other hand.

“I don't fancy germs touching me” he growled meanly at her. “Yo! Who the fuck is he?” Jessica's supposedly boyfriend glared lethally at Jinx.

“Fuck off, would ya?” Jessica shouted angrily at him. “I don't have time for this shit” he muttered, and made to go away. Then again, he got pulled back by Jessica's boyfriend.

Enraged, Jinx punched him ruthlessly on the face, making him stumble on the floor. “Jinx!” Jessica gaped unbelievably at him—it's…extremely rare to see Jinx engage in a fight.

“Oh…you wanna rumble?” Jessica's boyfriend attempted to fight back, but got held back by her. “Stop it Samson! Stop!” She held his arm tightly.

Jinx didn't bother to linger around much longer. He began staggering off with rage running through his veins—the effrontery! She tries to explain herself after snubbing him for almost a month? “Wow…what a lady” he scoffed annoyingly.

“Why won't you let me fuck 'em up, Jessy? He's just a depressed bastard!” came a loud yell from behind. “He doesn't have any friends asides from that stupid

blabbermouth. What a pair. A sadist and an idiot!” The remark vexed Jinx to the extent he could no longer retain his composure.

Yet, he tried to remain calm as he stood rooted to a spot. ‘Don't give in Jinx. He's just an airhead’ he spoke inwardly to himself.

‘Oh…is he?’ Jinx flinched again, hearing that cunning voice—it was unmistakable. That was Marie speaking!

“Where are you?” he muttered, palpating heavily. A sly giggle was heard.

‘Mr. Armstrong, I'm here; inside you. We're one now, aren't we? Say, don't get freaked out, okay? Think of me, as your wolf’ she spoke slyly. Jinx was confused like hell. What the fuck is she talking about?

“Wolf? What are you talking about?” he blurted out huskily.

Meanwhile, Jessica and her boyfriend were both shocked by his attitude, then again Jessica began dragging Samson out.

“Let's go, please!” she pleaded, holding unto his arm. Yet, Samson was bent on taunting Jinx, so he picked up a rock then threw it right at the back of his head.

Jessica eventually dragged him out before he relented, and they began walking in the opposite direction. “Why the fuck would you do that?” Jessica scolded furiously at him.

“Oh, screw that shit. Do you still have feelings for that dumbass?” he laughed as they walked with arms entwined. Jessica, feeling quite uncomfortable, glanced briefly at Jinx, only to find him rooted to the same spot.

Although worried, she continued walking off until a sudden howl was heard. Herself and Samson looked back quickly, only for their fears to escalate rapidly once their eyes landed….on a freaking huge white wolf!
