"You can't barge into a girl's room like that," I snapped at him as soon as he entered the room, while I am still scared of his reaction when he sees Diego. He didn't say anything but narrowed his eyes. "Don't act too shocked, alright?" I finally gave up and decided to apply the 'make him understand' technique.

"Who is he?" he asked me, and I gulped. Why am I worrying about this situation? It's not like it's my duty to keep his secret... argh...

"Diego..... but you're not telling anyone," I said to him pointedly, and he frowned.

"You're sleeping with your captive," he stated, and instantly I was confused. I looked behind and turned towards my bed where I found Diego lying on the bed, but the duvet was covering his whole body. The last time someone thought that I was sleeping with a guy didn't end up great.

"Do I need to give you any clarification?" I asked him while coming in front of him so that his focus would be on me and not on Diego. This lycan is also stupid; he should have

He fell to his knees, and I instantly shouted, "Don't shoot!" I went towards Noah and pulled out the dart from his arm. When I saw that his skin started turning red instead of grey, I took a deep calming breath. They shot him with wolfsbane, not silver. If it were silver, it would be almost impossible to tackle the situation without giving him long-term issues. "Go inside," Noah said through clenched teeth, and I rolled my eyes at him. "I am a huntress, Noah. You're the one in danger, not me," I said to him, scanning the area. "Go inside," I instructed him, and about to head towards the woods when he grabbed my hand. "I can't let a captive of a pack run away under my guard," he said to me, and I huffed at the stubbornness of these wolves. "This is the Blue Moon pack, the land that belongs to the hidden alpha. Even we hunters think twice before planning anything against this pack. Don't give yourself this much authority here. The alpha knows everything that happens here," I told him

"Whoa," I stumbled backward and instantly felt Diego's tingly touch behind my back. His furry and huge hands were instantly around all three of our bodies. "Deeee," both girls shrieked. Though all the weight of the three of us was on Diego, I groaned as they squished me. They must have heard me because both girls moved away from me, and I took a few steps away from Diego. I looked at the girls and realized that they were the twin daughters of Luna Queen, Aria, and Bria. They had been smiling ear to ear at Diego before, but my presence seemed to have affected their shocked expressions. "Isn't she the same girl?" one of them said, and the other nodded. "Someone's coming," the same twin said, and both of them grabbed Diego's hands, pushed him inside his room, and closed the door behind them. Noah climbed upstairs slowly, and now he was clearly looking high. "You could at least wait for me," he said without looking, but when he looked in front, he rubbed his eyes. "Are there two more gi

“What?” I couldn't help but ask her again to make sure that what I heard was true. “If you are done with this captive game, can I go away?” she asked me again, and now I didn’t have the guts to face her. I turned towards the river and let go of her hand. “This is all becoming too much for me, and now I can’t even understand why I am actually here. If you want to kill me for torturing you, then kill me. If you think that I don’t deserve to die, then let me go from here,” she said to me, and though I could feel waves of emotions from her, I was still unable to find a way to tell her that I wanted her as my mate. “Is something or someone troubling you here?” I asked her when I didn’t have anything else to say. “I don’t remember having a proper bed, proper food, and the freedom to roam here and there, even when I was a huntress, Diego. The things you provided me for the last week are the things that no one provided me for free. Things are changing, and I want to be somewhere I can be at

One year later - Diego’s POV - I looked around the mess I had created a while ago and cursed under my breath. Two dead bodies of deer were lying near me, which automatically made me sigh in annoyance. I got up and started walking towards my home. "Come on, buddy, it was my new shirt," I complained to Delcan, who was still silent as always. I walked towards my house while being attentive enough to analyze the woods carefully. I could smell the scent of our warriors a few meters away from me, doing their night patrols. I could smell the scent of the woods, hear the lullaby of insects, and feel the wind doing its best to dry my blood-coated hair. Instead of taking the whole way to my home through the woods, I walked through the town. Usually, I'm not particularly eager to roam in the town in daylight, but the case is different at night. I like the feeling that the pack members are sleeping peacefully in their homes without any worries. I feel content knowing that they have unwavering

"Arya," I mumbled her name in disbelief. "I am in a club named 'Wildheart Hideout.' It is near your pack. I need help," she told me without waiting a single second, making my heart beat faster in anxiety and happiness. I instantly got up from the bed. I will not allow anything to happen to her. "I will be there in half an hour. Do you think you can handle the situation until then?" I asked her and jumped out of the window, running towards the woods. I have been to this club once when I was wandering around. It is a few miles away from our southern borders and doesn't fall within any pack's territory, but I do have spotted a couple of wolves from another pack there. "I am trying. Just be fast," she told me and was about to add something more when I heard disturbance and commotion from the other side, and the call got disconnected. I cursed under my breath and gave control to Delcan, who instantly crouched down on all fours and started running with insane speed. I couldn't believe sh

Delcan gave me back the control, and Aria and Bria came running towards me. Arya was lying down in the back seat of the car and was unconscious. Her neck was bleeding, and she looked pale as if there was no blood in her body. When I took her out of the car, her body felt cold, very cold. Her heart rate was increasing with each passing second; she was breathing rapidly, and I didn't know how long she would be able to live in this condition. I mind-linked a couple of warriors to reach here as soon as they could. Bria gave me a cloth, and I placed it on the heavily bleeding wound. I applied pressure to stop the bleeding. "Dee, take her to the hospital. They have already sucked enough blood from her body," Aria told me, and Bria nodded in agreement. "Sit inside the car," I told them and placed Arya back in the car. The keys were still inside, but I went towards the vampire and broke both his legs. I left him groaning there in pain and mind-linked my warriors to take him captive in the d

"Okay, I will take care of the matter," I told her. As she was busy, she also ended the mind link. When the mind link ended, my gaze met the three pairs of eyes. Before I said anything to them, Ryan mind-linked me. "Champ, did you get the news about Federico?" he asked me instantly, and I couldn't help but feel the need for Ryan's safety now. "Yes, Ry, I am scared," I accepted the truth to him. "You are not alone, champ. I have to go to the council right now, but both Chicky (Ryan calls Addy Chicky) and I will come to your place as soon as we finish the council work. Don’t worry, we will handle it together," his words again made me feel protected, as always. "I will wait for you, Ry," I told him and ended the mind link. When I again focused my eyes, my gaze met the gaze of the three females, who seemed more than eager to know things. "Didn't you hear what I said earlier, Aria, Bria?" I couldn't help but tell Aria and Bria in irritation. "Do I have to repeat myself?" They must have

"Listen, Arya, I have to go. Duty calls, but you can cook anything you want. Ask Aria and Bria for any kind of help," I told her. For once, I thought she was going to say something, but she decided against it and just nodded. "Cool," I nodded and went out of the house. I walked directly in the direction where Federico was, and though I didn't want to meet him, I knew that the situation couldn't be ignored. He was standing there, and if I hadn't gone to meet him then he would not take much time to come to my place. I walked toward him and found him standing there patiently and proudly, as always. His gray hair is grayer than before, his stony eyes are still stony, and his gaze is still calculative. His face is still devoid of emotions and has many wrinkles on it. "What do you want?" she didn't give me time to even see the things properly and stood in front of me with her hands crossed."To tell you my truth," I said and sat on the sofa or bed; I don't know what it is."But I didn't want to know anything about you," she stated, and I took a deep breath."Don't you feel attracted towards me?" I asked her, and she didn't say anything. "Don't you feel angry when you imagine someone else with me?" The way she clenched her fists, I already know her answer."That's why. I also can't even imagine you with someone else. I know that you will find someone else soon. I also know that you are unable to feel the bond as strongly as I feel because you are human. But I didn't want to regret my whole life that I sent my mate away from me because I was scared." She scrunched her eyebrows but didn't say anything."I have secrets, a lot of secrets. "I am listening, love," Ryder replied to Arya, and now I think it's time to interrupt their little game. "Buy something sizzling hot and spicy for me, and no bread, please. I am sick of eating bread every other day for a year now," her words and Ryder's expressions not only shocked me but also made me clasp my hand tightly around my mouth to refrain from laughing out loud. Ryder kept looking at her with monotonous expressions for a good few minutes when his big brother Jace decided to interrupt. "Why are you wasting your time when you already know she is a tough nut to crack? I am the one who trained her to not break in situations like these. She has already been tortured in training, and no one was ever able to break her until her mom was not the one... and now she is dead. We don't have any weapon to use against her." Arya didn't say anything; she just smirked at both of them, which, much to my amusement, didn't make either of them mad. "No, brother, none of you were able to under

I ran towards the graveyard but was unable to spot Arya or Ry. I mind-linked the warrior whom I had sent to drop Arya off at the borders, but he informed me that the Alpha King planned to drop her there by himself. I mind-linked Ry, and as soon as the connection was established, I instantly felt that something was off. "Ry, where are you?" I asked him. "I don't think you should come here," his statement made me more anxious than before. "Ry... if it's about Arya, then I am surely going to come there," I stated and walked towards the border. "Fine, just follow the directions I am mind-linking, don't let your scent and aura out, and be as silent as you can. Be cautious; I still don't know what these people are capable of... And yes," he stopped, which made me more anxious. "Keep your beast calm. If he surfaces, then we will lose a great opportunity to capture a very dangerous person," he informed me, and I followed his instructions without thinking twice. Obviously, Arya never falls

"You can't lie to me," his eyes turned emerald in color. "So, don't even try," he said, and though I was scared to the core, I still tried to hold my ground. I won't put myself in trouble until they know the exact thing, and they can only get this information from me. "What gave you that idea?" I asked him, trying to appear as calm as possible. "Listen, kid, I am the alpha king for a reason. I can hear your heartbeats; I can smell fear on you," he warned. "That's not fear, that's called sweat, and everyone sweats... I just sweat a lot," I told him with fake sass. He glared at me as if he could bury me six feet under the ground right then and there. I did my best not to look away from his eyes. "A liar with confidence like you is a disaster," he muttered, but I didn't say anything in response; I just kept looking into his eyes. After a while, a warrior approached us, baring his neck as soon as he reached us. He didn't even raise his gaze towards the alpha king. "You can go. I will

I groaned in pain as my whole body hurt like hell, and I was sure that my stupidity would result in ugly bruises all over my body by tomorrow. I expected people to come running when they heard me shrieking, but when none of them came, I realized that the werewolves obviously had soundproof doors. I really needed to think about all these things before doing stupid things. I groaned at my own stupidity. I decided to lie like this for a few minutes because after falling down the stairs, my head was spinning. God knows what else I have to do to correct the mistakes I've made in the past. Suddenly, I heard a bang from upstairs and the footsteps of a couple of people running. Despite my efforts, I finally gave up trying to stand up from the floor. "Arya," I heard Diego's voice calling for me. "Yeah," I shouted, and instantly saw him, along with the king and queen, running toward me. "What happened?" he asked me. Though he came running towards me, the pain I saw on his face made me reali

"Leave Dee out of all this, and I will see what I can do in this situation," Alpha King said to Federico, who took a deep breath. "I really wanted to take your help, but even after being the Alpha King, you can't help me, Alpha. You are not a Lycan," he stated, making me wonder what they are discussing. "We will never know until we try," Luna Queen said to the old man. Though I still can't understand what they are discussing, I can see that the matter is very serious. It would have been great if I could get popcorn while listening to all these exciting things. I sat on a nearby chair and folded my legs to make myself comfortable. "No, Addy, Ry... none of you are getting yourselves into this. You already have a lot to deal with," Diego interrupted. "Federico, none of us can help you," he said with authority. "Give us a bit of time to think about things. You can stay in the guest's room until then. Downstairs, the warriors are waiting for you. They will show you the place where you'l

I can hear the voices around me, but I am in so much pain that my brain is unable to process anything that anyone is saying. When I felt someone's hand on my shoulder, I shouted in panic, "Don't touch me, it hurts!" I shouted. I know that I am fine; I made sure not to get hurt, so why am I feeling so much pain? "Sedate her, Addy. Give her anesthesia," there is complete chaos around me, but Diego's voice is ringing loud and clear in my ears. What is happening? I feel my body being lifted up from the ground, and people are moving around me, but I am unable to understand anything. I am sitting above a silver wolf while someone is clutching me from behind. I can see a huge black wolf nearby, and on it, a wounded Diego is sitting while the old man is sitting behind Diego, clutching him tightly. There is surely something wrong with me, there are no silver wolves in this world. The last thing I remember is Diego's face, which looks sad while tears are falling from his eyes. "Diego..." I mu

Arya’s POV - "These girls will make me mad someday," he said, while I could clearly see him getting panicked. He instantly turned towards me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Go to the hospital and get yourself checked. I will be back soon," he told me, and without waiting for my reply, he jumped out of the window. I wanted to shout behind him to take me with him too, but he was too fast. Within seconds, I couldn't even see him in the woods. "Maybe I could have helped," I mumbled. I didn't think our meeting would be like this, for sure. When I came back, he was so good with me. For once, I really thought that he wanted me to stay here with him. But then in the morning, he himself told me that I could go once I was healthy. I sat on the nearby chair and took a deep breath. "Stop thinking all this, Arya," I said to myself, but I still felt terrible about Diego's lack of interest in me. "Being with Diego was never possible in the first place. Throughout the night, I kept gazing at Arya's peacefully sleeping features. I noticed how she would occasionally smile in her sleep, how her nose twitched, and the adorable way she would itch her face when her hair touched it. She mumbled some coherent things with a slight frown, and she slept with her mouth wide open. I was so engrossed in admiring her that the entire night slipped away, and I still felt as if I had just arrived. When she furrowed her brow and partially opened her eyes, I knew she would wake up soon. So, I sat casually and waited for her. Gradually, she woke up, and the first thing she did was groan in pain. Before I could understand why she was groaning, she mumbled, "Oww, my back..." I rolled my eyes. Obviously, this is a chair, not a bed. What was she thinking when she slept here? "damn, I am unable to feel my butt," I stifled my laugh. "Expected it to be comfortable?" she jerked up and straightened her clothes when she heard my voice. "When did you arrive?" she
