Arya's POV - I am waiting outside the ICU, trying my best to keep myself together. The hospital staff called me an hour ago to inform me that her condition had deteriorated and they were shifting her to the ICU. I came here as soon as I could. This has become more of a routine for me over the past two months, but I don't think anyone can remain calm in this situation, no matter how frequent these emergency calls become. She is my only family, and after learning that she doesn't have much time left, it's normal to feel scared. My phone vibrated in my pocket, and when I saw Drake's name flashing on the screen, I knew that I couldn't convince him this time. I took a deep breath and answered the call. "Are you going to tell me the truth this time?" he asked in his scary, deep voice. "I'm sorry, Drake," I apologized to him, and I heard a loud thud from the other side, which automatically told me that the situation was seriously messed up. "Are you there?" I asked him, even though I knew
I closed my eyes as I slipped a few meters along my bike. For a few seconds, everything was chaos. I could hear my shrieks, growls, howls, and other cracking sounds, but it all stopped suddenly. I was scared to my core, but after a few seconds, I opened my eyes... (yeah, if I am going to be the food of some animal, then I should at least know which animal’s feast I am going to be)... I opened my eyes slowly and found myself all alone there. My bike was above my left leg, and my whole body was hurting. I groaned in pain and tried to move my body, but I was unable to feel anything but pain. I started taking deep breaths. There is not even a 0.01 percent chance that anyone will cross this road at this hour, and I am afraid that animals will not leave me alive until morning. I took another deep breath and tried to move my body. I was struggling when I heard a low growling sound from the woods. “Damn,” I cursed under my breath and pushed the bike a bit away, and finally, my leg was free.
"What do they know?" I asked her with a stern expression. I wasn't concerned about her telling them my whereabouts, as she didn't know about it herself. But what if they got hold of me here in the hospital? When she didn't reply for a few more minutes, I quickly collected my things and went towards the door. "I am not a little girl anymore," I told her and went outside the room. I closed the door behind me. I kept my calm and went towards the elevators. If they are in the building they will never use the elevators as they always avoid crowds and the staircase is always empty. I quickly ran towards the parking lot, but my steps automatically stopped when I saw one of their members. I hid myself behind the pillar. He was talking with someone on the phone, and the bad thing was that he was standing right next to my bike. I would never be able to escape from here on foot. Would it be a good decision to wait for him to leave? What if more of them joined him here? Should I hit him and ru
"The man standing there is the living epitome of beauty. He is the kind of man for whom every girl would willingly kill. At least, that was the first thought that came to my mind. He has a perfectly muscular body, standing a good few inches above six feet, and the body-hugging black shirt that he was wearing did nothing but make him more attractive and charming. His cheeks have a little stubble, but his jawline is clearly visible. His hair is trimmed short from the sides but is a little longer in the middle portion that is not styled. Based on how he was dressed and casually looking around, I knew he was trying to be casual. Still, the way his eyes were observing things around him, I knew that there was something that was not going with his casual attire. I was busy observing him when he looked at me, and instantly, all the things I had been observing about him just a few seconds ago disappeared from my brain. Now, all I can see are grey orbs that are looking at me with so much intens
I quickly ran towards the cabinet and unlocked the box that had all the needed things while calling Drake. However, he didn't receive the call, which made me freak out even more. "Damn, Mom," I muttered as I took my jacket and stuffed all the items in the hidden pockets. I tried calling Elina, but she didn't answer, which only increased my panic. I know I had decided not to use all these things, but if Mom is going to play dirty, then I will make sure to give her a befitting reply. After all, I am her daughter. I took my bike keys and didn't waste any more time. I drove towards the diner, and as soon as I reached there, I took a deep breath. The restaurant was still full, as always, and I could see Elina from there. I then drove towards the studio and barged in, but when I saw a very startled Drake, Henry, and their clients, I couldn't help but take a deep breath in relief. "What happened, kid?" Drake came towards me with worry. "Who bothered you?" He asked me again, while I became e
"The people who were attacked… Who are they?" I asked him, even though I already knew the answer. "I have no idea, but they were coming from Springville. I'm not sure, but they're not locals. If you want to go to that area, you're not going alone, and if you're going for some hush-hush business, take my truck. You're not going on that road on two-wheelers now." My mind had already started processing all the scenarios that could happen in my future. "Okay, I'll talk to you later," I told him and disconnected the call. I took the bike's keys and drove towards the woods. I wasn't driving at high speed to spot the place where all this happened, but when I finally reached the spot, I understood why Drake was freaked out. There were two police cars on the side of the road, and the policemen were looking at something on the corner of the woods that I assumed was a body or bodies. On the corner of the road, there was a lot of blood, so I assumed that whoever was attacked parked his bike on
"What do you think you are doing here?" That stupid man asked me, and though I really wanted to give him a witty reply, his hold on my neck was choking me. I thrashed in his hold and scratched his hand, but he was way stronger... {I should have stayed at home today}... My vision started turning blurry when suddenly he let go of my throat, and I fell on the ground while coughing. "Think before doing anything, dude," I heard another male voice, and though I knew they were all bad people, still, I was still thankful to whoever that was. "She is a girl," he said, and before I could even compliment himself in my mind, he added, "And that too an extremely hot one." I instantly regretted complimenting him in my mind. I am done coughing now. I wiped the tears that left my eyes and found four pairs of eyes looking at me while the man they were beating before was unconscious and all bloody, lying a few meters away from us. One of those four men came towards me, bent down to my eye level, "You
I know that I am drunk, but there is not even a single chance that I have imagined or heard anything wrong. What should I do now? Should I offer him the bike to go wherever he wants? But how can I give my bike to him? I am not even the owner of this bike. What if he stole it? Oh, come on, he doesn't look like a thief. {Oh, that's crap. I also didn't look like a thief before, but I used to steal things, didn't I?} I groaned and went in the direction where he went. "I should at least ask him if he needs help. He saved me, for God's sake." I looked around for a few good minutes, but he was nowhere to be found. Did I come in the wrong direction? When I was unable to find him anywhere after five more minutes, I finally gave up and went back to my house. I groaned in irritation when I saw myself in the mirror. "That stupid bastard ruined my white shirt." I removed the shirt and crop top and groaned again when I realized that there was not even a single chance that I could go to sleep befor
