Chapter 43 - The time leap

One year later -

Diego’s POV -

I looked around the mess I had created a while ago and cursed under my breath. Two dead bodies of deer were lying near me, which automatically made me sigh in annoyance. I got up and started walking towards my home. "Come on, buddy, it was my new shirt," I complained to Delcan, who was still silent as always.

I walked towards my house while being attentive enough to analyze the woods carefully. I could smell the scent of our warriors a few meters away from me, doing their night patrols. I could smell the scent of the woods, hear the lullaby of insects, and feel the wind doing its best to dry my blood-coated hair.

Instead of taking the whole way to my home through the woods, I walked through the town. Usually, I'm not particularly eager to roam in the town in daylight, but the case is different at night. I like the feeling that the pack members are sleeping peacefully in their homes without any worries. I feel content knowing that they have unwavering
