One year later - Diego’s POV - I looked around the mess I had created a while ago and cursed under my breath. Two dead bodies of deer were lying near me, which automatically made me sigh in annoyance. I got up and started walking towards my home. "Come on, buddy, it was my new shirt," I complained to Delcan, who was still silent as always. I walked towards my house while being attentive enough to analyze the woods carefully. I could smell the scent of our warriors a few meters away from me, doing their night patrols. I could smell the scent of the woods, hear the lullaby of insects, and feel the wind doing its best to dry my blood-coated hair. Instead of taking the whole way to my home through the woods, I walked through the town. Usually, I'm not particularly eager to roam in the town in daylight, but the case is different at night. I like the feeling that the pack members are sleeping peacefully in their homes without any worries. I feel content knowing that they have unwavering
"Arya," I mumbled her name in disbelief. "I am in a club named 'Wildheart Hideout.' It is near your pack. I need help," she told me without waiting a single second, making my heart beat faster in anxiety and happiness. I instantly got up from the bed. I will not allow anything to happen to her. "I will be there in half an hour. Do you think you can handle the situation until then?" I asked her and jumped out of the window, running towards the woods. I have been to this club once when I was wandering around. It is a few miles away from our southern borders and doesn't fall within any pack's territory, but I do have spotted a couple of wolves from another pack there. "I am trying. Just be fast," she told me and was about to add something more when I heard disturbance and commotion from the other side, and the call got disconnected. I cursed under my breath and gave control to Delcan, who instantly crouched down on all fours and started running with insane speed. I couldn't believe sh
Delcan gave me back the control, and Aria and Bria came running towards me. Arya was lying down in the back seat of the car and was unconscious. Her neck was bleeding, and she looked pale as if there was no blood in her body. When I took her out of the car, her body felt cold, very cold. Her heart rate was increasing with each passing second; she was breathing rapidly, and I didn't know how long she would be able to live in this condition. I mind-linked a couple of warriors to reach here as soon as they could. Bria gave me a cloth, and I placed it on the heavily bleeding wound. I applied pressure to stop the bleeding. "Dee, take her to the hospital. They have already sucked enough blood from her body," Aria told me, and Bria nodded in agreement. "Sit inside the car," I told them and placed Arya back in the car. The keys were still inside, but I went towards the vampire and broke both his legs. I left him groaning there in pain and mind-linked my warriors to take him captive in the d
"Okay, I will take care of the matter," I told her. As she was busy, she also ended the mind link. When the mind link ended, my gaze met the three pairs of eyes. Before I said anything to them, Ryan mind-linked me. "Champ, did you get the news about Federico?" he asked me instantly, and I couldn't help but feel the need for Ryan's safety now. "Yes, Ry, I am scared," I accepted the truth to him. "You are not alone, champ. I have to go to the council right now, but both Chicky (Ryan calls Addy Chicky) and I will come to your place as soon as we finish the council work. Don’t worry, we will handle it together," his words again made me feel protected, as always. "I will wait for you, Ry," I told him and ended the mind link. When I again focused my eyes, my gaze met the gaze of the three females, who seemed more than eager to know things. "Didn't you hear what I said earlier, Aria, Bria?" I couldn't help but tell Aria and Bria in irritation. "Do I have to repeat myself?" They must have
"He was looking directly at me as if he knew that I would come here. He took a step, but I raised my hand, and he stopped. I gestured for him to wait and came out of the kitchen. "Listen, Arya, I have to go. Duty calls, but you can cook anything you want. Ask Aria and Bria for any kind of help," I told her. For once, I thought she was going to say something, but she decided against it and just nodded. "Cool," I nodded and went out of the house. I walked directly in the direction where Federico was, and though I didn't want to meet him, I knew that the situation couldn't be ignored. He was standing there, and if I hadn't gone to meet him then he would not take much time to come to my place. I walked toward him and found him standing there patiently and proudly, as always. His gray hair is grayer than before, his stony eyes are still stony, and his gaze is still calculative. His face is still devoid of emotions and has many wrinkles on it. His clothes are still the type that don't sui
Throughout the night, I kept gazing at Arya's peacefully sleeping features. I noticed how she would occasionally smile in her sleep, how her nose twitched, and the adorable way she would itch her face when her hair touched it. She mumbled some coherent things with a slight frown, and she slept with her mouth wide open. I was so engrossed in admiring her that the entire night slipped away, and I still felt as if I had just arrived. When she furrowed her brow and partially opened her eyes, I knew she would wake up soon. So, I sat casually and waited for her. Gradually, she woke up, and the first thing she did was groan in pain. Before I could understand why she was groaning, she mumbled, "Oww, my back..." I rolled my eyes. Obviously, this is a chair, not a bed. What was she thinking when she slept here? "damn, I am unable to feel my butt," I stifled my laugh. "Expected it to be comfortable?" she jerked up and straightened her clothes when she heard my voice. "When did you arrive?" she
Arya’s POV - "These girls will make me mad someday," he said, while I could clearly see him getting panicked. He instantly turned towards me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Go to the hospital and get yourself checked. I will be back soon," he told me, and without waiting for my reply, he jumped out of the window. I wanted to shout behind him to take me with him too, but he was too fast. Within seconds, I couldn't even see him in the woods. "Maybe I could have helped," I mumbled. I didn't think our meeting would be like this, for sure. When I came back, he was so good with me. For once, I really thought that he wanted me to stay here with him. But then in the morning, he himself told me that I could go once I was healthy. I sat on the nearby chair and took a deep breath. "Stop thinking all this, Arya," I said to myself, but I still felt terrible about Diego's lack of interest in me. "Being with Diego was never possible in the first place. It is good that he clarified his disin
I can hear the voices around me, but I am in so much pain that my brain is unable to process anything that anyone is saying. When I felt someone's hand on my shoulder, I shouted in panic, "Don't touch me, it hurts!" I shouted. I know that I am fine; I made sure not to get hurt, so why am I feeling so much pain? "Sedate her, Addy. Give her anesthesia," there is complete chaos around me, but Diego's voice is ringing loud and clear in my ears. What is happening? I feel my body being lifted up from the ground, and people are moving around me, but I am unable to understand anything. I am sitting above a silver wolf while someone is clutching me from behind. I can see a huge black wolf nearby, and on it, a wounded Diego is sitting while the old man is sitting behind Diego, clutching him tightly. There is surely something wrong with me, there are no silver wolves in this world. The last thing I remember is Diego's face, which looks sad while tears are falling from his eyes. "Diego..." I mu
