“You’re willing to forsake us all because of a worthless human? Do you not remember what they did to us? To your family? To your heart?” He tells Alpha Jaden. “I’m not forsaking anybody, I’m being exiled, why can’t you understand?!” Alpha Jaden’s eyes take on a deeper shade that looks as he yells. He gives an ear-shattering howl that is loud enough to be heard miles away, causing panic to rise in the human territory. “That’s not just a werewolf, that’s an alpha...a very angry Alpha.” The leader of the human territory says, with fear dancing in his eyes. ................ Jaden West is an alpha werewolf that all the female werewolves would die to mate with, he is loved and respected by his pack, but everything changes when an innocent human girl stumbles her way into werewolf territory; years of trauma from a war between humans and werewolves trigger the werewolves into giving their leader an ultimatum, skin the girl alive or be exiled; Jaden chooses the latter and he is shunned from werewolf territory because of his compassion, unless he brings back the head of a human child; but after he is exiled, a rogue werewolf arises and takes his place, his pack and so many other wolves are now enslaved by this new alpha and the only one strong enough to set them free is the one they exiled.

Chapter 1

I am Jaden West, Alpha the of Denari pack. I work along with other powerful packs who have their own respective Alphas. We live in a vast area of wilderness called The Werewolf Territory, and there are three towns. The war between my people and the humans has finally ended, and we have had peace for five years now. But with war, comes casualties. My parents are dead, they died as heroes. They were killed by the leader of the Human Territory during the war, and my older brother who was supposed to be Alpha of my pack disappeared. I have searched everywhere for him, but have had no luck in finding him. I was next in line to be Alpha, and I had no choice but to ascend to power. The leader of the Human Territory is called General Ross, and it is said that he single-handedly killed two Alpha werewolves when he was in his prime. He is evil and full of hatred for my kind. How did the war end between us and the humans, and who won? Well, no one did. No one won the war. General Ross

This book is worth reading because it has lots of cliffhangers, suspense, and plot twists. So I recommend it. Great job, writer!

Chapter 2

“I see something,” Daniel says as he looks beyond the metal fencing. We all look at him, waiting for him to elaborate. “It’s an elephant.” He adds as he smirks. “You’re lying,” Isaac says, hope lacing his words. I can tell that he’s very happy that we have found such a big animal, considering that we have just started our hunt. “I’m not...it’s right there,” Daniel says while pointing ahead but we don’t see anything. His vision is better than ours so I guess it makes sense why we can’t see the animal. “Search around..see whether there’s anyone,” I give the order, and Daniel does what I say. We shouldn’t be here, this is beyond risky. “Umm...I see no one.” He responds after searching around, and I smile. “Search again,” I inform him, and he sighs. I have to make sure a human ain’t lying in wait for us. “Okay..okay.” He says under his breath as he does another visual search. “No one...the coast of clear.” He says when he is done. “Okay, let’s get going then,” I announce, and my tea

“Jaden, Jaden..” I hear a faint voice as someone shakes me awake. When I open my eyes, I see a blurry image of Isaac, and then my eyes finally clear. He is still in his werewolf form, which tells me that it is still night and not much time has passed since I was knocked unconscious by god knows what. “What happened?” I ask as I try to get up from the ground. The back of my head hurts so bad, and when I try to touch it with my hand, I realize that I am indeed bleeding. “Someone threw a stone at you, it was one of the humans,” Issac informs me, and I groan. Of course, one of them did. My team members have all shifted fully, but for some reason they have been able to control their urge to attack the humans, which is unbearably difficult to do. I know this must be hard for them, considering that all our senses heighten when we shift; so I bet they all can smell the blood that runs through the veins of these people. “How long was I out?” I ask no one in particular as I dust the dirt

I drop my hand from his shoulder, and he sighs as he watches me with satisfaction. “I’m sure there is an agreement we can come up with,” His daughter says, and he frowns. “Vanessa, please do not speak. Let us leave,” He replies to her, but she stands her ground. I’m starting to like this lady. “Father, let’s not pretend, you know we too are running low on food, the animals are getting less as each day passes,” She reminds him, and it’s clear that she has her father’s full attention now. “Okay then, what would you suggest?” He asks her tentatively as he eyes me. “We can take the Alpha as our prisoner and let the others go,” She tells him, and my eyes bulge out. “What? No way!” I blurt out as I glare at her. “Listen...this would not be forever. You would only be caged for a week. During this time, you would hunt for our villages and bring back enough food. After the week is over, we can release you to go back to your pack,” She explains to me, but it still doesn’t sound like the

Chapter 5

I sigh as I reach for the door. When I touch the handle, my skin instantly burns as if I placed it in hot oil. The pain is unbearable. “Bloody hell!” I yell in agony as the pain cripples my mind. “White Skull Rocks,” Jack says, and the other guard laughs loudly. He seems to be enjoying this too much. I groan in pain as I take a look at my palm. The skin is trying to heal already, but the flesh on it was completely melted off by my encounter with the door. I have to count on my ability to heal fast to deliver me from this excruciating pain. “The entire door is made of them. I want to see you try to escape,” Jack says with a chuckle as he opens the door and pushes me inside. He then locks the door, leaving me grinding my teeth because of the physical pain I’m feeling. I cuss under my breath as my palm continues to regenerate. I can feel my fangs coming out, due to the pressure that sits in my palm. That door really did a number on me. I take deep breaths to calm myself, and it wor

Chapter 6

“Okay,” I say lowly as I turn my horse around. “Where are you going?” She asks loudly. “Back to The Hole. My people are without a leader, I just want to do what I came here to do, and then return.” I reply to her. “Okay then! Let’s hunt!” Her voice is fierce, and it causes me to halt the movements of my horse. “You say you want to hunt, yes? Well, let’s head to Olam then.” She says, and images of my parents flash in my mind, causing my heart to ache. I gulp as I hold back tears as memories of them haunt me. I have never cried in front of anyone since my parent's death, and I am certainly not going to do that in front of this human female. “Or I can take you back to The Hole,” She says softly. “Is it a law that you vet me the first day?” I avoid her question. I am clearly finding an excuse not to go to the forest. I don’t think I am ready to see where my parents died. “Yes. Well, not law, but it’s mandatory.” She says with a shrug as she now looks at me. “Okay,” I say. “Take m

She strokes my face and for a second, I bask in the feeling, but then I grab her hand and hold it tightly.“Don’t touch me. All you speak of are lies.” I say to her and I let her hand drop as I put distance between she and I.“Stop moving and fretting...you are wounded, remember?” Her voice changes and sounds more frail now. She’s right, I am hurt. General Ross stabbed me in the belly, how could I forget? And the crazy thing is that I am not even feeling any pain.“You have healed outwardly, but your system is at risk. The poison from the blade has spread inside you.” She informs me, causing my eyes to bulge.I look at my stomach and she is right, I have healed. There’s only a large scar on my abdomen.“I feel quite fine.” I say to her as I sit back down on the floor. “If there was poison coursing through my body, I think I would know.” I add and I scoff lightly.“You don’t feel the effects because your system is fighting it off. You’re lucky, General Ros

Wow, that was not what I was expecting.“You had an affair with the General’s wife?” I ask her incredulously.“Are you hard of hearing?” She rolls her eyes as she says this. This is clearly a topic that she does not enjoy speaking on.“I’m sorry for making you tell me.” I say softly and her face relaxes.“Oh, you didn’t make me, Jaden. No one makes me do anything.” She says and she goes back to walking around the room and touching the walls. If my mother was human, then how couldn’t I or the other werewolves sense her? It’s very easy to hear the feeble hearts of humans beating. If a werewolf listens carefully enough, he might even hear the blood running through theirs veins.“Did my mother..uh..use magic to cloak her identity?” I ask her, figuring out that that must have been the only way she could have been hiding in plain sight.“Yes, Jaden. Our family bears one of the most powerful sorceress line in the world; but sadly, I’m the only one left.” She explai

The bravery she has is unmatched. I thought I was brave, but the more time I spend in here with her, I see glimpses of my mother. My mother was a brave woman.I was trying to ignore it at first, but Selena looks exactly like her. The same eye structure, and the same smile.“You miss her, don’t you?” She asks me as I try to escape my thoughts.“Yeah, I do too.” She says without waiting for me to reply to her question.“Why did you say that the forbidden alliance between my mother and father claimed their lives? That’s not what happened.” My voice is firm and Selena studies me as I speak.“They died in a forest here in human territory. That’s where General Ross killed them.” I explain to her.I expect her to know this, since she is a sorceress and all.“The forest Olam.” She says with a sigh.“All you have said is right, I saw it all happen in dream days before.” She adds.“How do you think the General was able to kill two great people on the same day? To Be Free, You Must Die

“Wait-what?” I ask her, confusion covering the features on my face.“I don’t have much long. The General and his guards would be here soon.” Her words are carried by the noise from above. Why do they keep so many prisoners? And the crazy thing is that most of their prisoners are their own kind. “What do you mean? I thought nothing could harm you. You told me that.” I say to her.I feel a strange obligation to protect her. Protecting her would be like protecting my mother.“Oh, Jaden. No matter how long the sun sits in the sky, it would still have to fall to sleep so the moon can rise.” She speaks in a parable that only takes a second for me to understand. What she means is that no matter how long she stays alive because of her powers, she would eventually have to fall prey to the cold hands of death soon.“I sense greatly that it is my time.” She adds. She looks very weary. She maintains the appearance of a young lady, but her presence seems old and frail.
