Shawn thought his ears must be playing tricks on him.

He told himself he must have misheard.

For a moment, he stood there, stunned, then he suddenly smiled. "Hannah, let’s go home first. We can talk about this later."

He reached out toward Hannah.

She stepped to the side, and his hand grasped at the air.

Shawn stood rooted to the spot, his head hanging low, his expression a mix of confusion and shock. "Hannah, are you really going to dismiss our six years together over something so trivial?"

Hannah's face was filled with mockery, a flicker of resentment emerging. "You think this is a trivial matter?"

Realizing he had misspoken, Shawn quickly shook his head. "That's not what I meant."

Hannah wiped a tear from the corner of her eye with a bitter smile. "I don’t want any of your property or real estate. I just want half of the savings in our joint account."
