Chapter 13

Hannah couldn’t care less about the grand promises Shawn was painting for her. However, she understood clearly: if they divorced now, not only would she get nothing, but she would also be saddled with a massive debt.

Her eyes narrowed, lips pressed tightly together. Her jaw clenched, and her cheeks flushed red as the anger coursed through her.

In a pleading tone, Shawn said, “Just give me six months, and our assets could grow fivefold. Meanwhile, I’ll use those months to make up for my mistakes. Please, Hannah, say you’ll agree.”

Hannah took a deep breath, the tightness in her chest causing a sharp pain. After a moment of silence, she glanced at Shawn’s profile. “Isn’t the company’s annual revenue enough for you to squander? Why did you use the money in the joint account without consulting me first?”
