Chapter Thirty-Seven

HAYDEN'S POV

Ever since we got home from the cafe, I have been silent, thinking of the best way to get back at those bastards. I felt her pain through the mate bond, the moment she locked eyes with him.

I locked myself in the study, pondering over it. I want to apply caution and at the same time want to make an example of them, but how on earth will I achieve this without tearing them from limb to limb in the most excruciating way possible?

I heard a gentle tap on the door. I didn't want to open the door at first but changed my mind when her intoxicating scent couldn't let me concentrate. She sure has a way of messing up my head.

I pulled open the door to see her beautiful eyes lit up in surprise, guess she didn't think I would answer her, but then why did she come?

"Dinner," she said, pushing a tray toward me.

"I'm not hungry," I said to her.

"You skipped lunch; I don't think it's a good idea to skip dinner also," she advised, her beautiful voice turning me on.
