Chapter Seventy-Seven

I held Tessa in my arms as she continued crying, holding onto me so tightly.

"Hush now, honey, it's fine now," I said to her, gently patting her hair.

Hayden's men shot the bastard a couple of times just to make sure he was dead. I took Tess back into the house and to her room.

She laid down on her bed, and I turned to leave, but she grabbed my hands.

"Tess, honey, you should take a rest," I said to her.

"I don't want to be alone," she whispered while holding onto my hand.

I sat back on her bed, brushing the hair off her face. "I will kill every single one of them before they lay a finger on you," I said, holding her gaze.

"Kay," she whispered as tears formed in her eyes, gently trickling down on the bed.

"I will be right outside if you need me," I whispered into her eyes, and she nodded, smiling at me.

I smiled back and made my way out of the room. I went into the room, dropping my bag in the room. I took off the 2-inch heel I was putting on. I was about to pull out the gun;
