Chapter Sixty-Five

It has been a few weeks since we found my parents, and I have been loving each day. Every single damn day has been nothing but bliss. I guess they are trying to make up for what they did.

Anyway, I was glad I could give my unborn child the warmth of a big family that I never had. And the care of her grandparents.

I don't want to come off as paranoid, but I can't shake off this feeling that we would pay dearly for being this happy. I don't know if I have lost it, but I have this unshaken feeling that the worst is yet to come.

I got back from my doctor's visit with Mom. Hayden had some important meetings out of the city, and I had to go with Mom for moral support.

"Honey, is everything okay?" Dad asked, immediately we both stepped into the house.

"I'm fine," Mom said, walking and falling onto the couch.

"You don't look so well. Did something happen?" Dad asked.

"She cried a lot during the ultrasound," I said.
