Chapter Fifty-Six

"What do you mean by that?" I asked and looked behind me to see if they were still on our asses.

"Eyes on the road!" Hayden yelled.

But I looked anyway; I almost screamed when I saw three SUVs, speeding towards us.

"Why didn't you say they were closing in on us?" I angrily yelled.

"I didn't want to put pressure on you with your condition." he shrugged.

"What condition? I'm pregnant, not hypertensive!" I yelled and changed gear immediately.

"Kay, we want to survive in one piece, not in pieces," he blurted out, clutching onto the seatbelt. But I didn't say a word to him as I needed to concentrate.

"I think we have lost them; you can reduce the speed," he said, looking back and still clutching the seatbelt.

"I don't think so," I said, gesturing for him to look at what was coming at the front.

"Shit, I hate this!" he yelled. I punched a button, and the small part of the roof gave way.
