Chapter 72

It was a long table that seated at least twenty women of all ages, although most were young.

When I took my seat beside Arya, a sudden hush fell over the table which had hitherto been buzzing with arguments about Arya’s bestseller.

“Guys, this is my dear friend, Persephone,” Arya introduced me. “If you – if you read the dedication of the novel, you would know that she helped me a lot with my book.”

“I had thought –“ An old woman sitting a few seats away from Arya started, “I had thought the name Persephone Adelard must have been a mistake or you were bullied into putting it in the book.”

I could not help the smile on my lips. I came all the way here today because of this woman. She was one of the people I had to get acquainted with and there were limited chances of meeting her.

In the last that I remembered, she was Arya’s greatest supporter. Her eyes were sharp and her lips set in a thin line as she addressed me with clear annoyance. It was enough to feel disgruntled but
