He kissed my hand. He raised our hands, with our fingers intertwined, up to his lips and his cold lips touched the back of my palm. I did not know how to feel or how to describe the heat that started from my arm and spread like fire in a dry forest throughout my body.

“Alpha Koa…” I had to say something and I did not know what to say so I started with his name.

“Koa,” he cut me off. “You can call me by my name as you did earlier.”

“Earlier, I was angry. It is rude…” Again, he did not let me finish.

“You want to be stubborn to the end.” He squeezed my hand in his. “Persephone Adelard, have you forgotten who I am?”

“Are you going to throw your weight about in this situation?” I pursed my lips.

“From now on, I will do what I have to do. Your stubbornness is starting to drive me crazy.” He glared at me. “Despite how long we were apart, you did not, for once, miss my presence so I am afraid I will have to take a much more aggressive approach in wooing you. Look forward to it.”
