I ran.

I don’t know how I did it but I only breathed until I was under the sanctity of my room. I backed the door as I dropped effortlessly to the floor, my heart still beating loudly against my chest in remembrance of the mess created back there.

My eyes stayed wide open, my ears perked up at the same time as I listened for any suspicious sound or footsteps whatsoever. I almost had a panic attack right there in his room and if I hadn’t escaped just in time, I could have collapsed.

The way his feet sank into the glasses taking the injury in my stead was a nemesis on its own. It was so scary I couldn’t process the right thing to say, I just had to run but I am feeling bad about it right now.

After all, he got hurt because of me.

A knock on the door flew my heart out of my chest and likewise has me flinching up to my feet.

“Who’s that?” I asked and faced the door with my trembling body. Are his men here to drag me to the farthest dungeon? Did he order to have my head? O
