KATHERINE
“You should eat so as not to get the Alpha pissed.” Eve strode towards me, stopping briefly to shake her head as she effortlessly dropped a glass of coffee on the desk before me. I wondered for the first time if I made the right choice. He asked me to suck it up since making a pup was my only reason for being here. I didn’t exactly have a choice either. “If I need to eat anything, I’ll get it myself.” I chided with a forced smile and she wagged a brow, as if wanting to burst into a fit of unbearable laughter. “You want me to get killed?” As she asked I just kept a straight face. I didn’t care whatever he’s to do to her. I just want to have some time to myself and get my head straight. Which includes not eating either. That being the least of my problems. “I think you should take your leave. You will only die if you choose to confess to him. My mouth is sealed.” I cleared my throat and started, a little too eager for the space I was yearning. For a second, her face depicted confusion before it was swept away and replaced by suspicion. “Don’t tell me you’re planning to run away?” Her eyes abruptly widened to the size of a saucer pan as she stared at me, horrified. “I don’t think I understand what you’re trying to say. Run away? Where to?” I repeated, an unbelievable scoff erupting from my chest. This is absurd. I wish I could slap some sense into her right now. I will only be able to run away if there’s a tiny chance I would even reach halfway before I get caught. Additionally, this whole building has a terrible amount of guards securely guarding it. “Who knows? I don’t read minds. However, I’ll advice you against it. It just won’t end up well.” I found her face before my eyes, as she warned in such a way I mimicked the fear she must be expecting to be running through my veins. When she drawed back and left grinning from ear to ear, I ran my fingers deep into my hair and groaned in frustration. Her presumed was particularly something that had skipped my mind. Now that she’s laid the idea before me, it’s becoming even more tempting. Something I want to reconsider but can place me six feets under the ground. In no time I was on my feet heading towards the door. I dragged myself out of my room in haste for some fresh air, acting oblivious to the lines of guards I see at every taken step. “Got you. I was just about to come and fetch you.” Eve, with the same taunting smile she had on her face not quite long ago, appeared before me unexpectedly obstructing my way. “What do you—“ “Alpha Derek requests… No, let me rephrase, demands your presence.” I haven’t finished saying when she interrupted and without waiting for my affirmation, grabbed at my arm and started leading me away. “Hey, be careful with me. I can walk all on my own.” A matter of time and I turned around to realize I was now inside of Derek’s room. This time he isn’t present and I can’t discern his scent either. I casted a look around the room and that was when I caught sight of a small round table with dishes on it from which a wafting tempting scent oozed out to fill the atmosphere. And my nostrils. I walked to the chair slowly and sat, as my fingers cautiously reached for the lid of the dish’s cover, paying no mind to the discouraging side of me. Do I even know whose food this is? There’s a low possibility it was what I was brought here for. A reason I badly want to wait but whatever meal this is was too disturbing and if I was to think of waiting till he gets here, by that time, his blazing aura would be too intimidating to get even a spoonful inside my tummy. ‘Which do you choose, Katherine?’ I thought to myself. By now my fingers are starting to shiver against my lose of composure. “What are you doing here?” A bellow arose as the door was jammed close behind me. I can’t tell by what speed I dropped the dish’s cover but it soon clattered to the ground, breaking into tiny pieces which went splattered around. I gasped, shocked. My hands flew over my mouth as a muffled ‘fuck!’ escaped me. More so, a sneaky glance behind me to caught a glimpse of Derek and my thighs began to tremble. What have I done?! “I—you— I was told you called for me. Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry.” My feet went ahead of me, one after the other, as I circled the havoc and mess I made on the sparkling floor. I watched as he slowly peered down at the floor and then back at me. My convincing smile disappeared against the force of his set jaw and narrowed eyes. “I didn’t call for you. So tell me, what is this you’ve done?” His predatory eyes danced around me as he chided. Only when I raised a brow did I realize something; I was tricked. By Eve of all people, goddamn it! How could she? I told her I wasn’t in the mood to eat anything but I never had an idea she could go this far. I mean, it isn’t even her stomach being starved and obviously— she won’t be the one to meet his rage right now either. My heart began thudding as I bent over the glasses. My hands shaky as I tried to search for any sense of reasoning left in me whilst I began to scoop the dangerous sharp broken pieces in my palm. “Katherine!” His voice slashed into the stilled air with irritation and his feet was right before me to jerk at my hand causing the broken pieces I had managed to gather to come crashing back to the floor before I knew it. For the first time I didn’t adhere to his command. I froze, my lungs lost of oxygen as the painful way his feet sank into the piercing glasses made a sharp chill course over me. I internally cried for myself as fear totally engulfed me.KATHERINE I ran. I don’t know how I did it but I only breathed until I was under the sanctity of my room. I backed the door as I dropped effortlessly to the floor, my heart still beating loudly against my chest in remembrance of the mess created back there. My eyes stayed wide open, my ears perked up at the same time as I listened for any suspicious sound or footsteps whatsoever. I almost had a panic attack right there in his room and if I hadn’t escaped just in time, I could have collapsed. The way his feet sank into the glasses taking the injury in my stead was a nemesis on its own. It was so scary I couldn’t process the right thing to say, I just had to run but I am feeling bad about it right now. After all, he got hurt because of me. A knock on the door flew my heart out of my chest and likewise has me flinching up to my feet. “Who’s that?” I asked and faced the door with my trembling body. Are his men here to drag me to the farthest dungeon? Did he order to have my head? O
KATHERINE “I’m sorry for my grave mistake.” Was what I started my next morning with. Immediately I woke up, I chanted at Derek’s doorstep for no less than five minutes before I was then free to retire to my room. “Sorry but you are not allowed to come in.” I was barely halfway into the kitchen when I got stopped by the group of pack house’s chefs. Do they not understand how boring it is staying in my room all day long alone? “I’m not about to touch anything. Well, just here for one or two chores.” I coaxed as I walked past them. “We have enough people to sort out every chore. In fact, we are almost done and the meal will be served soon. Ms, I’ll suggest you leave before the Hybrid Alpha manages to see you.” The particular lady who had tried to stop me ran forward and fell into steps with me. She looks composed but her face is telling otherwise. Not only hers, the rest included. “He’s not going to come. Seriously? See your faces becoming so pale with fear.” I looked at
KATHERINE“W-hat?!” The way I screamed was terrifying to my own ears. I slightly peeked a tiny glance into the room and my jaw was agape. There's no way I could convince myself it's just his shadow when his figure is looking so huge and clear. Hybrid King Derek. Damn it, I've gotten so used to qualifying him as an Alpha. His fucking first time in my room and I feel so hot from the inside as I mustered the courage and brisk walk in.“W-hat are you doing here?” I asked and faced him with my stammering tone on the lose. Right, looking as my eyes was fixated down my feet I could not bare to face him.He walked over to my side and stopped abruptly only when he had walked past me. I tried not to look back. These chefs implanting fear inside me is a great mistake, now I look no different from a toddler before her father after commiting a huge atrocity.“Henceforth…” he began and I stared ahead feigning unaffected. “For a faster result, every three days, I shall expect you on my bed at ni
KATHERINEI looked like a stripper. One stare at my reflection in the mirror and I wanted to cover my eyes in shame. I’ve never seen a lingerie or wore one. And that’s because there was never a need for it. But now, there is. Unlike the people who wear it for their lovers as a surprise when the night time for pleasure comes by, I’m wearing this for a total stranger.Right, I still don’t know him and I doubt I ever will. “None of this is happening.” I gulped taking myself in once again. I feel so exposed and cold. Concluded that I needed to get out of this thing clinging onto me like a second skin pretty fast, I fetched a jacket from the closet to cover myself as I walked my way out of my room. My hands tightened against my chest as I walked, eyes diverting every seconds to watch out for any passerby. When I walked into King Derek’s room, he was there this time. Hands crossed behind him staring out of the window. I momentarily paused. Then I proceeded onto the bed without been told
KATHERINE She was right but to me, she shouldn’t have gone to such a dangerous length. It was clear and evident he despised the color red when his face suddenly turned red. Does she know how hard I had to struggle against him before he released me? “You could have said it by mouth. Do you even know how tough it must have been for me in there?” I slammed my closet back open, picking a plain white lingerie this time around. I don’t care if it wouldn’t make me presentable enough, I’m not endangering my life once more in a roll.“It’s just for you to get closer to him. Wait a second, you’re now so scared of him?” At first she was saying then midway, she almost yelled, disbelief smearing her face. “Who wouldn’t be.” I strutted out of the room, ignoring the annoying laughter that thundered in my room against my departure. She’s not so innocent after all. She knows what she’s doing. It was like any other night on his bed. Rough pounding. Merciless duration. An air filled with restless
KATHERINE Not knowing what to say, I coughed into my palms but he was still there when I raised my head back up. The pressure of his fixated eyes caused me to nod before I even knew it. “It’s—alright now.”But rather than hearing what will ease my mind thereafter, he said what had me wishing I could find my way into the ground and never come out. “I must have gone lenient on you seeing as you healed so fast.” His voice boomed down at me and before I could realize, he shut his windows and was gone. ‘Add one and two together Katherine, you just ruined your life completely.’ I can hear my wolf saying disappointedly, as she crawled to the pit of my stomach. She was right. Now I shall have to suffer twice miserably on his bed next time. What just occurred today was just the tip of the iceberg. “You’re in so soon?” Eve ran after me as I strutted back into the building, the pain in between my legs long forgotten. “I have to. My mouth just got me into another trouble, staying longer wi
KATHERINESilence descended on the crowd. Before I knew what was next, he literally strapped me to his side and placed a hand on my waist and just like that, I stood frozen as I watched hundreds of people bow their heads for me. I could have sworn I wasn't expecting this because it didn't end there, soon as they all raised their heads, he said something that has everyone of them whispering from one person to the other. “She’s Katherine, a new member of our pack. You all are expected to give her all the respect she deserves and additionally, see her as nothing but a part of you.” His gaze inspected everyone to make sure they were all in accordance. Meanwhile I silently shook my head, refusing to turn around and acknowledge the numerous eyes on me. I can hear a few gasps here and there, they were probably waiting for me to say something, but if only they knew how hard I'm withholding myself from bolting out and embarrassing myself in the process. “Yes, King Derek.” They all choruse
KATHERINE My eyes opened, adjusting to the ray of light as I managed to sit up on the bed, head hung in my palm. No matter how much I tried not to remind myself of last night, it was now too late to regret or suck. A slight creak of the door alone and I almost had a panic attack, my hand on my chest as I slumped back under the bed sheet. I knew I was caught already when the footsteps approached, not stopping until I could literally feel the person's presence by my bed. “No amount of pretense is going to work.” It was Eva, this time she's seething beside me. “If you know what you've done, you wouldn't even be able to have a wink of sleep.” My hand shook as I held the duvet away from my face. Whatever hope I might have had left vanished when I saw the seriousness etched on her face, prompting me to sit up once again. “I don't know how I did it, I was just tempted to try one or two shots but I didn't know it was going to result into a big mess for me.” I tried to explain and she bec
