Chapter Four

By three-fifteen on the dot, Braden walked into the office, and he suddenly stopped in his tracks as he watched Rome wear his coat.

Then when Braden saw him pick up his phone, he humbly asked, "You are leaving?"

"Yes," Rome mumbled, walking from behind his desk.

" But your schedule shows that you don't have any activities until five." 

"I have to eat, don't I?" 

With a touch of nervousness in his expression, Braden immediately lowered his head when he and Rome's cold eyes met. 

Then he quickly stepped out of the way to allow him to pass.

When Rome arrived at the door, he was about to reach for the handle, but then he stopped, gazed at Braden, and said, "I will not be coming back to the company after lunch."  

Immediately when the thought crossed Braden's mind, he hastily said it out loud, "But your meeting with Mr. Aaberg is at five."
