Chapter 1 - Mason

Sitting in my familiar Alpha office, I turned to look at her. The long blond hair I had once adored so much, twisted up into a sleek ponytail, her make-up done to perfection. She had made an effort today, yet I did not care in the slightest, as my eyes were full of fury, as they set upon her from across the room.I could not stand the sight of this woman, and why she felt it was acceptable to return here, yet again, I did not know. She had not been here in weeks, but out of the blue she had appeared begging to speak to me. I had hoped after the last time she may have got the message...“I won’t keep asking you, Brooke. This is done. We are done. Have been since the moment you decided our matebond meant nothing.” I snarled at her, and her eyes filled with tears. No doubt the fake ones she was so good at conjuring up at a moment's notice when she felt they were of benefit to her. The ones I had so easily fallen for many times early on in our relationship, but had soon learned meant noth

Chapter 2 - Mason

I sat down with a coffee, and tried to distract myself from the worst imaginable beginning of the day, when there was yet another knock at my office door. I released a huge sigh... this was not what I needed. Not off about two hours' sleep...“Come in!” I called, only hoping it would not be Brooke deciding to come back for round two. I would be letting my wolf out if it was, I swear…“Only me. No need to sound like you want to eat me.” Levi said cheerfully as he walked into my office. Levi was the pack’s Beta, and one of my closest friends. He was also one of the guys who liked to drive me crazy. And seemed to be always smiling.I faked a smile at him as he dropped himself onto the seat in front of my desk. “Jeez, Mase, you used up your smiling quota for the month or something?” he joked. "Because you look miserable as sin, dude."“Wow, thanks for that. But, yeah, something like that. What's up anyway?”“Was that who I thought it was leaving?” he asked, and I knew instantly he had to

Chapter 3 - Mason

Despite my reluctance, and trying my hardest to avoid the evening, my friends had ensured I had met them, and soon enough, we were in the town, touring the bars like nothing had changed since we were teens. Having fun, drinking as much as we could, knowing that the alcohol would take little effect on our werewolf bodies. We were out to enjoy ourselves and to ensure that our friend enjoyed his celebrations. One of the bonuses of being a werewolf was our tolerance of alcohol. We could drink it in serious excess before it had any major effect. Though, in some ways, that could also be somewhat of a downside too. For example, if it was you paying the bill, which often fell to me, or if you were wanting to drown your sorrows… which again seem to fall on me pretty often of late…Ah well, tonight, I was here to try to enjoy my time with my friends, celebrating Jaxon getting married. Killian, Leon and Eli, three of the pack’s best warriors, and also three more of my closest friends had come al

Chapter 4 - Gianna

I glanced at my reflection in the mirror, before looking across the room at my friend Octavia, or Tavi for short, to where she leaned against the wall. Her long blond hair pruned to within an inch of its life as it always was when we were going out to perform. She smiled at me, as she caught my eye.“Ready for the same old shit?” she asked with a wry smile, before adjusting the purple corset style lingerie she had on tonight. Neither one of us enjoyed our job, but we stayed because it paid well, and both of us wanted out. We were saving for better things. And working here gave us a fast track to getting what we needed. More than a standard job ever could, and that was what continued to bring us back.“Ready as I will ever be.” I flicked back my long dark waves over my shoulder, already uncomfortable in the heels I had on tonight. “I think these shoes were a bad idea.” I grumbled, and I heard Ettie, one of the other girls giggling as she applied another layer of mascara in preparation

Chapter 5 - Mason

The bar was becoming busier, so it seemed it was a popular place, though looking around, I could see why. Half-naked women would certainly be a draw, I was sure.“You wanting another drink?” Levi asked, and I nodded, unsure if he would hear me over the music. My eyes wandered around the room once more, though I could not help allowing them to fall back to the dark-haired beauty in the corner. It was almost as if she did not want to be seen, although surely that couldn't be the case when she chose to work somewhere like this. But, if she was trying to hide out, it hadn't worked. I had seen her. Oh, I had seen her, and was struggling to take my eyes away from her. She was stunning, and should not be in a place like this. Though, in truth, I am sure none of the girls should be…“Got your eye on someone Mase?” Killian nudged me with his elbow, suddenly bringing my attention back to my immediate surroundings, rather than to the woman across the room who was currently moving her hips in a w

Chapter 6 - Mason

Her beautiful body moved seductively toward our table, and I could not take my eyes from her. Waves of deep brown hair with a hint of purple under the lights of the bar. Her red and black corset was enhancing every curve of her womanly body…‘You are practically drooling!’ Killian linked with a chuckle. ‘You know that, right?’I quickly shifted my gaze to him, turning it to a scowl. He was asking for a slap. I was admiring the view was all. And a beautiful view it was. Was that not the point of coming in here? My friends had wanted me to come out and enjoy myself, meet women... well, that was what I was doing. And, right now, I have to say, I was actually enjoying myself, which surprised me.“I heard you guys were out to celebrate you getting married soon, is that right?” A sultry voice began, making me bring my gaze right back to the beauty, who was now at our table. In fact, disappointment filled me as I realized she had not come across to me after all. She was standing authoritativ

Chapter 7 - Gianna

I could not help but glance at the handsome man in front of me that I was being asked to dance for. His deep brown eyes had barely left mine since he had sat down. And now I found myself taken aback by the fact he had offered me his hand. I was here to dance for him, as suggested by his friend. So why was he offering me his hand? What did he plan to do? Dance with me?As he pulled me close, I felt my heart begin to race, when I almost landed on his lap. His strong, spicy, masculine scent filled my senses and made me feel almost dizzy with lust, taking me by surprise. “I have no intention of disappointing you, beautiful.” He whispered, and I felt my knees go weak at his words. I had no clue in what way he thought he would have any opportunity to be disappointing me tonight...I felt my mouth go dry as I swallowed heavily. Abe, the security for my area was suddenly striding over. “Keep your hands to yourself.” His voice was gruff, and authoritative, as he barked his orders to the handso

Chapter 8 - Mason

I offered the beauty my hand again, while her security seemed to have headed to the bar, and she accepted without hesitation, while I led her to the booth across the sectioned off area near to the stage she had only moments ago been dancing upon.‘Ooooh, putting the moves in are we big man?’ Killian joked, and I held back the smile playing upon my lips. No, there was no moves, I just wanted to get away from him and his smart mouth before he said something else to show me up. It was a good job he was my friend, because the way he spoke to me sometimes, any other pack member would have been in serious trouble. But, with Killian, I knew it was always in good spirits, and he had always been that way ever since we were teenagers. He had a way about him that always had us laughing...“Are your friends not coming?” Gi-Gi asked me as she perched herself at the edge of the leather seat, her long legs elegantly stretched out in front of her, and I swear my heart felt like it stopped at the sigh

Chapter 9 - Gianna

The man next to me had caught my attention the moment he had walked into the bar. I was used to men of many kinds coming into the bar night after night, and not once had one pulled my eyes towards him like this one had. There was just something about him and the way that he carried himself. So strong and self-assured. So powerful and confident. And now I had the pleasure of his company, he most definitely had my attention…“So, Gianna, come here often?” He almost purred at me teasingly, and I couldn’t help but smile at his hellishly cheesy attempt at a joke.“Well, you know, every now and again.” I told him, fully aware of the eyes of his friends being upon us. No doubt, awaiting their friend embarrassing himself. But, from all I could see, he was pretty composed so far. If anything, he was confident. And he had said he planned to charm me, had he not? That told me he was no doubt a regular with the ladies…“You worked here since it opened?” he asked, seemingly genuinely interested.“

Chapter 10 - Mason

“Aww, Gi-Gi, you haven’t danced for Mase yet!” Killian said, a big, beaming smile upon his face. He was on a mission to show me up tonight, I was sure of it. Though, at the same time, if it wasn’t for him, then Gianna would have returned to work by now. I could have easily paid for her to stay by myself but had not wanted to seem so forward. Worried she may have declined...I saw Gianna smile playfully as she looked at me, despite the fact she had already had a number of drinks she seemed to be handling them well. “And, does Mase want me to dance for him?” she purred seductively at me, and the sound of her using the shortened version of my name sounded even better than ever…“Yes! Yes! Yes!” my friends chanted loudly, causing Gianna to giggle, raising her brows at me as if in question. She was waiting for my answer. Was she crazy?“Would any guy in his right mind refuse a dance from you?” I said, not breaking the eye contact with her, and I saw her cheeks tint a little.“Well, in tha
