The bar was becoming busier, so it seemed it was a popular place, though looking around, I could see why. Half-naked women would certainly be a draw, I was sure.
“You wanting another drink?” Levi asked, and I nodded, unsure if he would hear me over the music.
My eyes wandered around the room once more, though I could not help allowing them to fall back to the dark-haired beauty in the corner. It was almost as if she did not want to be seen, although surely that couldn't be the case when she chose to work somewhere like this. But, if she was trying to hide out, it hadn't worked. I had seen her. Oh, I had seen her, and was struggling to take my eyes away from her. She was stunning, and should not be in a place like this. Though, in truth, I am sure none of the girls should be…
“Got your eye on someone Mase?” Killian nudged me with his elbow, suddenly bringing my attention back to my immediate surroundings, rather than to the woman across the room who was currently moving her hips in a way that should be illegal…
“Huh?” I shook my head, in an attempt to dismiss his words. “Nope. Just looking around the bar. Seems popular in here.” I lied. I did not need my friends giving me a hard time for checking out the dancer. I would never hear the end of it. They had been wanting me to find myself another woman since I rejected Brooke.
“Yeah, sure does. Should we go sit over there?” he motioned to the corner where the dark-haired stunner was working the stage, for the benefit of the few people sitting at the tables.
I nodded. I would not say no to being closer to her. “Going to grab a table.” Killian told Levi and Leon at the bar, while the rest of us made our way to the tables, having to pay to gain access to the area closer to the stage. That seemed to be how it worked here. There were the general seating areas, close to the bars, and then the more private dancing areas with the small stages surrounded by a handful of tables. Those were where you had to pay to sit, basically to pay to watch the girls dance.
As we paid for our seats, the security informed us the dancer’s name was Gi-Gi. And as I glanced up at her upon the stage, I couldn't help but think the name did not suit her, and made me curious if that was a stage name. But, the moment we moved closer, those beautiful dark eyes were once more on mine. Up close, she was even more stunning.
Skin so perfect and tanned, lashes long and flawlessly framing her big brown eyes. I had not looked at another woman since the whole mess with Brooke had exploded, but this girl made my damn heart race, and I had no clue why…
“You sure you ain’t checking her out?” Killian asked with a chuckle as we sat down. “Because it looks a lot to me like you can’t take them eyes of yours off her.”
I gave him a dark glare. “Or not…” he added with a cheeky grin, while Jaxon and Eli laughed next to him.
“She is hot.” Eli pointed out. Nothing like speaking the obvious, was there? “Though when I looked around all the girls were.” Eli added, which didn't surprise me. He was always one for the ladies...
“Doubt she would be wanting a brooding and blunt Alpha.” Killian winked at me, causing the other two to laugh again. I do sometimes wonder why I have these guys as friends when they do nothing but insult me.
We all looked to the stage as she moved so flexibly from dance move to dance move. Eli chuckled again, making me look across at him, more than a little confused about what he was laughing at. He grinned. "Just think of the fun you could have with her, Mase!" he said enthusiastically. "See how flexible she is!" he pointed out, as she seductively bent over running her hand along her long, toned leg from her foot to her thigh, making my pulse rate shoot through the roof.
"Can you even touch your toes?" Jaxon asked curiously, making us all look to him in disgust.
"And why is that relevant?" Killian laughed. "You wondering how we would look pulling off that move? Because I am telling you, it would not look like that!"
We were all laughing now, while Jaxon was trying to defend himself and explain his thoughts, but he couldn't get a word in, while we laughed. I may not have wanted to come, but tonight was certainly working out to be better than I thought it might be...
Leon and Levi were walking across to us, as Leon held back to speak to the security, making me wonder what he was saying. Before they came and joined us at the table with drinks in hand, placing them at the table for us all to enjoy.
Conversation was easily flowing, as much as the drinks had been. I think it was safe to say that Jaxon was enjoying his night out, but I found myself keep checking out of the conversation as my eyes kept falling to the beauty upon the stage. Mesmerized by the way her body curved and moved…
“You want to put your tongue back in your mouth Mase?” Levi teased, making me shake my head while the others all laughed. I was the only single one now, it wasn't like I was doing anything wrong.
And no matter how much I tried, I could not help myself. It only made it worse that her eyes seemed to fall on me too, or was that my imagination?
Suddenly, she moved down the steps at the front of the stage, all the while sashaying to the music. Her hips swaying seductively, while her eyes seemed to be focused upon our table, making my heart race. Was this because I had been unable to take my eyes from her?
Her beautiful body moved seductively toward our table, and I could not take my eyes from her. Waves of deep brown hair with a hint of purple under the lights of the bar. Her red and black corset was enhancing every curve of her womanly body…‘You are practically drooling!’ Killian linked with a chuckle. ‘You know that, right?’I quickly shifted my gaze to him, turning it to a scowl. He was asking for a slap. I was admiring the view was all. And a beautiful view it was. Was that not the point of coming in here? My friends had wanted me to come out and enjoy myself, meet women... well, that was what I was doing. And, right now, I have to say, I was actually enjoying myself, which surprised me.“I heard you guys were out to celebrate you getting married soon, is that right?” A sultry voice began, making me bring my gaze right back to the beauty, who was now at our table. In fact, disappointment filled me as I realized she had not come across to me after all. She was standing authoritativ
I could not help but glance at the handsome man in front of me that I was being asked to dance for. His deep brown eyes had barely left mine since he had sat down. And now I found myself taken aback by the fact he had offered me his hand. I was here to dance for him, as suggested by his friend. So why was he offering me his hand? What did he plan to do? Dance with me?As he pulled me close, I felt my heart begin to race, when I almost landed on his lap. His strong, spicy, masculine scent filled my senses and made me feel almost dizzy with lust, taking me by surprise. “I have no intention of disappointing you, beautiful.” He whispered, and I felt my knees go weak at his words. I had no clue in what way he thought he would have any opportunity to be disappointing me tonight...I felt my mouth go dry as I swallowed heavily. Abe, the security for my area was suddenly striding over. “Keep your hands to yourself.” His voice was gruff, and authoritative, as he barked his orders to the handso
I offered the beauty my hand again, while her security seemed to have headed to the bar, and she accepted without hesitation, while I led her to the booth across the sectioned off area near to the stage she had only moments ago been dancing upon.‘Ooooh, putting the moves in are we big man?’ Killian joked, and I held back the smile playing upon my lips. No, there was no moves, I just wanted to get away from him and his smart mouth before he said something else to show me up. It was a good job he was my friend, because the way he spoke to me sometimes, any other pack member would have been in serious trouble. But, with Killian, I knew it was always in good spirits, and he had always been that way ever since we were teenagers. He had a way about him that always had us laughing...“Are your friends not coming?” Gi-Gi asked me as she perched herself at the edge of the leather seat, her long legs elegantly stretched out in front of her, and I swear my heart felt like it stopped at the sigh
The man next to me had caught my attention the moment he had walked into the bar. I was used to men of many kinds coming into the bar night after night, and not once had one pulled my eyes towards him like this one had. There was just something about him and the way that he carried himself. So strong and self-assured. So powerful and confident. And now I had the pleasure of his company, he most definitely had my attention…“So, Gianna, come here often?” He almost purred at me teasingly, and I couldn’t help but smile at his hellishly cheesy attempt at a joke.“Well, you know, every now and again.” I told him, fully aware of the eyes of his friends being upon us. No doubt, awaiting their friend embarrassing himself. But, from all I could see, he was pretty composed so far. If anything, he was confident. And he had said he planned to charm me, had he not? That told me he was no doubt a regular with the ladies…“You worked here since it opened?” he asked, seemingly genuinely interested.“
“Aww, Gi-Gi, you haven’t danced for Mase yet!” Killian said, a big, beaming smile upon his face. He was on a mission to show me up tonight, I was sure of it. Though, at the same time, if it wasn’t for him, then Gianna would have returned to work by now. I could have easily paid for her to stay by myself but had not wanted to seem so forward. Worried she may have declined...I saw Gianna smile playfully as she looked at me, despite the fact she had already had a number of drinks she seemed to be handling them well. “And, does Mase want me to dance for him?” she purred seductively at me, and the sound of her using the shortened version of my name sounded even better than ever…“Yes! Yes! Yes!” my friends chanted loudly, causing Gianna to giggle, raising her brows at me as if in question. She was waiting for my answer. Was she crazy?“Would any guy in his right mind refuse a dance from you?” I said, not breaking the eye contact with her, and I saw her cheeks tint a little.“Well, in tha
Having watched Mason and his friends moving toward the exit, I was oddly surprised to find myself disappointed the evening had come to an end. I had actually enjoyed their company. Something I don’t think has ever happened in the whole time I had worked here. My shifts usually dragged, and I avoided interacting with the clients as much as physically possible. Yet this small group of guys had made my night more than bearable... even brightened it. Especially Mason. But, I felt the eyes of my boss watching me from across the bar, as his words echoed in my head, and I knew I should not keep him waiting too much longer. He sounded pissed off the moment he had called me over, though heaven knows why. I raised my gaze to look at him, and, as expected, he was staring at me, his eyes angry and his face etched with a frown. I don't think this man knew how to be happy...I truly did not have the energy to deal with him right now. But, if I wanted to go home, I had no choice. So, reluctantly, I
We walked out of the bar and into the cool evening air, instantly refreshing us, and making us more alert. Thankfully, none of us had drunk enough to make us anywhere close to incapable of functioning normally. The joys of being a werewolf…Sadly, looking around at many of the other men leaving the bar as a few stumbled around, and the delightful gent throwing up into the flowerbed, it could not be said for many others. They had definitely drunk too much, and no doubt the bar owner would be rubbing his hands together in glee at the profits tonight. It always amused me to leave bars and clubs at the end of the night seeing all the intoxicated humans, so unable to handle their alcohol. When we were, as a whole, almost sober. It was usually a game of dodging the drunkard, as they weaved their way to their cab, or wandered home, often with a takeaway in hand. Quickly averting your gaze when there was the over-enthusiastic display of affection… or trying not to become involved in an illogi
As disappointed as I may have been to watch Mason and his friends leave, I was so glad to finally kick off my shoes and throw on my sneakers. A sigh of relief does not even cover it! But, as I got myself sorted to go home backstage, my feet still felt like they were throbbing. Needless to say, I do not think I will be wearing those shoes again…I grabbed my things, already imagining a mug of hot chocolate laid out on the sofa at home before crashing on my bed and sleeping. Sleeping, sleeping and more sleeping. Maybe a few dreams of the handsome and mysterious stranger from tonight thrown in to make it a little more interesting. I would most definitely not want to be waking then... The one big downside of working the late shifts was the late finishes, but that was certainly outweighed by the increase in tips we earned due to the higher number of customers. And while I didn't often work the later shifts, I was more than glad I did tonight.Tavi walked into the room just as I was leaving
