Emily POV We decided to go to a diner for lunch when Easton mentioned he had to get his keys. While he went to our apartment, Hannah and I decided to look at the common room. Ryan went to the kitchen to get us some water. We had barely stepped inside the common room when I felt someone squeeze my ass. I knew it wasn’t Easton and I turned around to see a guy who couldn’t be much older than eighteen smirking at me. “Hi gorgeous. You look like my next girlfriend.” He said. “Strange. Emily POV I didn’t miss the whispers as we walked into the diner. ‘Word sure travels fast around here.’ Hannah’s voice giggled through the mind link. ‘And inaccurately.’ I noted. When the waitress approached us, I wasn’t sure if her wide smile was the same reserved for everyone or if it was due to my mate. I could tell her quick glare was reserved strictly for me, however. She looked similar to the she-wolf from the common room, and I could detect a small resemblance in their scents as well. ‘I will rip her to shreds if she touches our mate.’ Kyra growled in my mind. ‘The glare was for me as the she-wolf that handled her sister, not as Easton’s mate.’ I replied, urging her to calm down. Emily POV Easton and Ryan were chuckling as we crossed the street. “You were serious when you said you graze, huh?” Easton questioned me playfully. “Did you think I was joking about food?” I shot back with a laugh. “Oh, Emily NEVER jokes about food.” Hannah deadpanned. “You don’t get hangry do you, Luna?” Ryan asked with a worried look. “She most definitely does. I bet she ate right before leaving for the gala the other night.” Hannah answered. “I do not get hangry! Easton POV I could tell Emily was feeling overwhelmed, but I couldn’t figure out how she was managing to completely block our connection at times. It wasn’t a block I could feel, and it didn’t feel like anything was missing. It was just like the connection and bond never existed. ‘Dallas, can you block the connection completely?’ I asked my wolf. ‘Not like mate can. She would feel it if we blocked it.’ He replied and I just hummed in response. I tried to recall anything I could about Fae and softly stroking Emily’s hair while she took a nap. I was grateful for my mother handling the introduction dinner tonight. She loves planning events, no matter the size, so I knew she was more than happy to do so. Emily POV I couldn’t figure out what to make of the day. It was overall a great first day in a new pack, but I knew I wouldn’t be with Easton every waking moment, and I wouldn’t be with Hannah all the time either. I would have to make some friends here, but it didn’t look too promising so far. The pack dinner was fantastic, and I was glad to meet the pack members who came to introduce themselves. I was concerned the kitchen staff wouldn’t be able to join, but I noticed they all found somewhere to sit after all the food had been served. It was nice to be in a pack that allowed the kitchen staff to eat with everyone else after preparing the food. I felt relaxed and content as we said goodnight to Jason and Marie and made our way to our apartment. I was utterly exhausted despite taking a nap before dinner, so quickly got ready for bed. I decided to sleep in one of Easton’s t-shirts instead of my own sleepwear. I had gotten comfortable in bed when Easton climbed in behind me an
