Easton POV I could tell Emily was feeling overwhelmed, but I couldn’t figure out how she was managing to completely block our connection at times. Easton POV Emily slipped her arm in mine as Ryan and Hannah did the same. Emily and I walked in with Ryan and Hannah behind us and the room immediately went silent. Emily POV I couldn’t figure out what to make of the day. It was overall a great first day in a new pack, but I knew I wouldn’t be with Easton every waking moment, and I wouldn’t be with Hannah all the time either. I would have to make some friends here, but it didn’t look too promising so far. The pack dinner was fantastic, and I was glad to meet the pack members who came to introduce themselves. I was concerned the kitchen staff wouldn’t be able to join, but I noticed they all found somewhere to sit after all the food had been served. Emily POV I woke suddenly to the sound of a crash followed by screaming. ‘Kyra, what was that?’ I asked my wolf. I didn’t get a reply from her so I tried to feel for Kyra in my mind, but it was like she wasn’t there. I sat up to try and look around. The room was dark, but the door was cracked letting in a small sliver of light. ‘That’s not right.’ I thought to myself as I noticed there shouldn’t be a door on that side of the bed. Emily POV “What do you mean?” Easton asked. “I was a kid again and I heard my parents arguing in the middle of the night. Daddy was yelling at mama about not hurting some “her” and mama said she didn’t belong there. Then daddy said that’s his daughter and that mama had done enough damage with her potion.” I rushed out. “A potion?” He mumbled with confusion. “That’s what I said. Emily POV I quickly picked up my discarded shirt from the night before and slipped it on before going into the bathroom. Easton went to the kitchen, and when I walked in he already had a coffee waiting for me. Easton POV I knew it was Ryan at the door. Emily laughed as she scurried off to the bathroom. At least he knocked instead of just entering the apartment, which reminded me that I needed to set up codes for Emily and Hannah today. ‘You can come in now.’ I linked Ryan.
