Emily POV

Easton chuckled and slowly slid out of me. “It’s definitely my new favorite pastime.”

He started to move away from me, and confusion washed over me until he reassured me with a light kiss on my forehead. “I need to throw the condom in the trash.”

I hummed at his statement as he walked off. My eyes started to flutter closed, and I felt Easton slip back on the couch beside me and pull me close in his arms right before I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up when the urge to use the bathroom hit me. I was cuddled close against Easton, and was thinking of a way to get up without waking up. I finally decided there wasn’t a way to do so since we had fallen asleep on the couch and I was between him and the back cushions. I tried to sit up, but he tightened his grip around my waist and mumbled something in his sleep.

“Babe.” I whispered. I moved one hand to his cheek. He hummed in response and his eyes fluttered briefly.

“I need to get up.” I said. He opened his eyes and loc

Emily POV Michelle was the opposite of most of the she-wolves I had met in Silver Springs, or ever, really. It was apparent that she had a no nonsense attitude and I was a bit taken aback at her grave demeanor. I felt an instant connection with Michelle for some strange reason. She didn’t seem to be overly friendly or over talkative, but I could sense something in her that seemed to tie us together. My wolf could sense it as well. ‘I don’t know what it is but it’s intriguing.’ Kyra mumbled to me. I was surprised to learn she was originally from the Conecuh Forest pack. Everyone I had met from that pack was usually playful and unserious. Like Jake without the arrogance and douchery. I told her I was originally from Blue Moon, and she looked at me quizzically for a brief moment and asked, “Who are your parents?” Hannah sensed my hesitancy and blurted, “She’s Alpha Adam’s oldest daughter.” “Well, I’ve always doubted the rumors about you, and after meeting you I’m glad I

Emily POV We walked into my office and I walked straight to the bar. “Coffee or cocktail?” I offered. “An Old-Fashioned for us, please.” Kent replied. Easton had followed me to the bar and instructed me to sit while he made the four of us drinks. I went to sit on the couch and motioned to the chairs to instruct Kent and Michelle to sit as well. When we were all sitting, I took a deep breath as I contemplated where to begin. Easton gently nudged me. I took a large gulp of my drink before starting. “So, this information is confidential. Can y’all assure me you won’t discuss this outside of this room?” I asked. “You have our word. It remains between the four of us.” Michelle stated sincerely. “After we mated, I learned that Katherine is not my biological moth

Emily POV “The entire Fae Kingdom?” I questioned. “Yes, dear. Your mother was the princess.” I blinked a few times as the words registered. I downed the rest of my drink before slowly standing and walking to refill my glass. If my mother was the princess, what does that make me? Surely they don’t expect me to rule the kingdom one day. I suppose that could also explain why Alpha commands don’t work on me and why I’m stronger than my dad. Everyone in the office quietly watched me as I walked back to the couch and sat down. “Who in their right mind marks some mediocre she-wolf when they’re already mated to a freaking PRINCESS?” I half-shouted to no-one in particular. I then remembered Easton saying he bet it was a love potion Katherine used. I turned to look him.

  • The Forsaken Daughter   73: Wise Words

Easton POV I felt like I’d lived an entire lifetime in the past three days. I could only imagine how Emily felt. I didn’t know anyone in the pack was part Fae, so it was a shock to learn Kent’s mate Michelle was. When Michelle agreed to speak with us upstairs, I thought we would just be discussing simple Fae abilities and maybe how Emily could use them. I definitely was not expecting Michelle’s grandmother to literally pop in and drop the answers to Emily’s questions right into our laps. I sat quietly while Aisling and Emily spoke, trying to take everything in and wrap my head around it. When Aisling said Emily’s mother was the Fae princess it explained why Emily had such a powerful aura and Alpha command. ‘So she’s technically a princess, too.’ Dallas preened. ‘I guess.’ I replied. ‘Definitely explains why she’s stronger than her dad.’ My heart clenched when Aisling said she would take Emily to the Fae kingdom, but I was quickly relieved when she added that she would t

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Chapter 1: Unwanted

Emily’s POV “Emily! Em, it’s time to go!” My friend’s voice cut through my thoughts. ‘Why doesn’t she mind link us?’ my wolf, Kyra, asks. It was time to leave for the gala. Once a year, our pack hosts a gala for unmated wolves. Several neighboring packs are invited. They also host their own galas once a year, but I try to avoid going to these galas whenever possible. I don’t expect to ever find a mate, despite being the Alpha’s firstborn. I’ve always been unwanted. Ever since I can remember, I’ve yearned for a feeling I’ve never felt. My parents didn’t want me. My siblings didn’t want me. I was just alone in the world no matter what I did. I tried everything to get attention and affection from my family. I was the perfect daughter and student; an overachiever really. I woke my siblings and got them ready for school every morning, helped them with homework and even did their laundry. I practically raised my brothers and sisters. Despite all that, I never felt wanted or needed

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Chapter 2: Unexpected

Emily’s POV Hannah and I go downstairs, ignoring whatever nonsense Kate is saying now. We see Kate’s mate Tyler as we approach the front door, and he makes some comment about nobody wanting us. We just roll our eyes and walk out the door. I tell Hannah we can just take my car. She happily exclaims that her mate can bring her for her car tomorrow. She’s too optimistic for me sometimes, but I guess one of us should stay positive. The event venue is only a ten minute drive. Hannah is chatting the whole drive, pondering what her mate is like. “I hope his favorite cereal is different than mine. I’d hate to fight over the last bowl of Fruit Prbbles. I would love if he’s blonde and not too tall.” I lightly chuckle at that because she has a point there. Hannah is only 5’2” and most wolves still tower over her when she’s wearing heels. She’d get a permanent neck ache having to look up to a tall guy all the time. She then asks, “Em, what do you think your mate is like?” Before I e

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Chapter 3: Surprise

Easton’s POV I really don’t want to attend another mating event. I’m almost 25, and it seems pointless to look for my fated mate at this point. My parents insisted I attend Blue Moon’s gala this year since I haven’t been to their pack in four years. As we pull up to Blue Moon’s event hall, my wolf, Dallas, perks up. ‘What has you paying attention tonight?’ I ask, but he doesn’t answer. Ryan, my future Beta and best friend, wiggles his eyebrows at me as he opens the door. “You ready to find your mate tonight, Alpha?” he asks. I roll my eyes as I get out of the car. I quickly mindlink Ryan, ‘We’re staying one hour. That should be enough to appease our parents.’ He just chuckles back at me through the link. He hasn’t found his mate either, but he’s in no hurry to do so. Right before we walk in my phone starts ringing. I sneak a glance at the screen and see it’s my younger sister, Megan. “Go ahead, Ryan. I’m gonna take this real quick.” I say before turning away. Megan found

  • The Forsaken Daughter   4: In a Trance

Easton POV Time seems to stop as I stare at my mate. Dallas is howling in my head and trying to take control. I manage to keep him back as he urges me to move to our mate. She’s still frozen in place. She seems hesitant and I’m instantly nervous. I slowly approach her and for what seems like an hour we just gaze into each other’s eyes. Something about her eyes hypnotizes me and I almost forget where I am. Dallas quickly snaps me out of my trance. ‘Stop standing there drooling like an idiot and introduce yourself!’ I blink a few times at his words and open my mouth to speak. Before I can say anything, the beautiful woman in front of me softly speaks. “H-Hi. I’m… Emily.” My wolf lets out a small growl of satisfaction as I imagine how sweet her voice would sound moaning my name. She slightly blushes and I want to be the only one to make her blush. “I’m Easton. It’s an honor to finally meet you.” Emily scrunches her nose and I can tell she’s wondering what I mean by that. I quickly

Emily POV I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t for Easton to kiss the mark on my neck and ask, “Do you like this?” He continued to lick at the mark and kiss it and I couldn’t stop the small moan that escaped me as he did. “I more than like it.” I whispered. I slid my hands underneath his shirt to lightly stroke his back. His hands cupped my ass and I knew how I wanted to spend the time before dinner. He pulled his head from my neck and our lips met instantly. It didn’t take long for Easton to lift me, and I wrapped my legs around him. I grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up. He pulled his lips from mine just long enough for me to pull his shirt over his head. I was glad he’d decided to wear a polo shirt instead of a button up. Easton had walked us to the couch, and he sat down with me in his lap. I leaned back and pulled my own shirt off. His eyes darkened as he looked at me. He reached around to unhook my bra, and I let it fall. His mouth went to o

  • The Forsaken Daughter   67: Alone Again

Easton POV I followed Emily into the kitchen and ignored Aunt Evelyn’s teasing. I leaned on the kitchen island and watched Emily start the coffee maker and get creamer and a bottled water out of the fridge. She caught me watching her and leaned over the island to whisper, “Anything you’d like to share with the class, Alpha?” “I definitely don’t want to share this with anyone.” I murmured. Emily stood to walk back and add creamer to her now-finished cup of coffee. She put the creamer back in fridge and asked, “Did you want anything?” “I think we gotta wait for what I want.” I winked. “Well, can’t say I’m surprised by that.” I heard Aunt Evelyn say from behind me. “Well, at least I’m not trying to drag her off with y’all in the living room.” I mumbled. She smirked at me and looked at Emily. “I have that monthly dose for you. It should be effective within twenty-four hours of taking it, so I suggest using other methods for the first day or two after.” She handed Emi

  • The Forsaken Daughter   66: Relief

Easton POV When Emily got out of the SUV I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. I was relieved she was finally back in my sight after only a few hours apart. I gave her a tight hug and started to passionately kiss her, but quickly remembered our audience and pulled away. I looked at Callie when I heard her giggle. “Told you they were miserable.” She winked at Emily. “Babe, you know it’s normal for newly mated couples. Besides, Easton got teased enough today by Aunt Evelyn.” Luke laughed. I turned to glare at him and saw that Luke was watching Ryan and me knowingly. I guess he had experienced this feeling when he and Callie were newly mated. I told Emily they could go upstairs and we’d get the bags, but she said it would be quicker if we all got them. Callie suggested taking them to their suite, so we decided on that. Once we had all the bags, I turned to dismiss Kent and Mitch. I was taken by surprise when Kent and Mitch looked to Emily and asked to carry the

  • The Forsaken Daughter   65: Online Shopping

Easton POV “Aw, come on! Can’t we play a few more games?” Ryan whined. “Fine.” I grumbled. “We’re playing Mario Kart, though.” I knew it would be a good idea to distract myself (and Ryan) from the fact that our mates were out shopping without us. We walked over to the side of the arcade where game consoles were. We sat down and grabbed three controllers to start our game. Several Mario Kart races later, Ryan and Luke were both pouting at my wins. “How do you always beat us in this?” Luke mumbled. I shrugged. “When you’re the best, you’re the best.” I smirked. Ryan huffed in annoyance. “I’ll win one day.” “Not today. It’s time to go back to work.” I said as I stood up. Ryan and Luke followed me. “Why is it so empty in here today?” I asked as we walked towards the exit. “Probably because school isn’t over for the day.” Luke said. I took my phone out to check the time and grumbled internally. Time seemed to moving slower than usual. Luke seemed to know what I
