I stay there for a few minutes, pulling myself together, before gathering my things and going out into the waiting room. The lady at the front desk handed me all the paperwork I needed, giving me a warm smile as she did. Nick stood up and came over to me. "Come on, let's get you over to the Pack House to have lunch with Brax." I could tell by the way he looked at me that he knew I was struggling with my emotions. I didn't speak in the car; I just sat there staring at the papers on my lap. I had so many other things to worry about, and I couldn't let myself stress over this when it was something I had no control over. I had to pull myself together before I sore Brax. I knew that if I walked into his office sad and worrying, he would fuss over me, and right now, I didn't want that. Nick walked me into the pack house, taking me to Brax's office. "Alpha has been called out, but he won't be long. He told me to get you to wait here for him." Nick pointed over to the lounge in his office.

I couldn't go to sleep that night. The thought of the strange wolf wouldn't leave my brain; I didn't bring it up to Brax I didn't want him to start worrying over it. I knew that Nick and Dillon would have told him everything they knew. As the sun started to rise, I looked over to Brax, who was peacefully sleeping next to me; I felt guilty for having a connection with another wolf, like I was cheating on him, even though it felt nothing like it did when I first met Brax. Letting out a loud sigh, I rolled over my eyes caught the book from my pack that was sitting over on the bench next to my window. It called to me again like it had when I first laid eyes on it. Getting out of bed, I made my way over to it, sitting down in the window, picking up the book, and opening it to the page where I had left off. The words seemed to dance off the pages, drawing me in once again. It was a distraction from my thoughts of the mysterious wolf, but it also brought up more questions about my own abilit

We ran for hours, enjoying the freedom. But the fun had to come to an end, and Brax talked me through shifting back into a human. The pain was bad but nowhere near as painful as it had been shifting into a wolf. I don't know why, but I was shocked when I shifted back and found myself standing naked in the mind of the forest; I don't know why. It was a shock since I saw my shredded dress lying on the ground earlier.Brax laughed at my surprise as we both stood there naked in the moonlight; grabbing my hand, he led me back towards the house, sitting on the table in the backyard where there were two robs. After seeing mine and Brax's baby growing inside of me, I was on cloud nine. All my fears about being a mum faded away, and I think Brax felt the same way. I spent the days after that getting ready to do the ritual to bring Ava back. I had limited time to get things organised because Daisy was getting close to passing, and if she died before we did the ritual, then there was a chance it wouldn't work. I spent most of my time in the library reading as much as I could, trying to learn everything I possibly could about myself and the power I would need to pull it off. My family decided to stay. It has been over a week since I woke up, and I'm feeling a lot better than I was. Brax still keeps fussing over me, not wanting to leave my side even though I keep telling him I'm fine.
