Chapter One

I stood packing my belongings with my back facing my closet. I had to go through the trouble of selecting amongst my best wears, as I kept on tossing in and out my clothes looking to see if I'd packed my best. Father had insisted on my traveling light but I argued, trying to reason with him why a girl has to take all good things with her why traveling, and I was one who loved to flaunt her lifestyle. Besides, I didn't think the amount of clothes should be taken into account.I would be leaving for Ireland today, Claire to be precise, to execute the plan Father had. I was totally in support to be honest, considering the story he told me - which was countless times already. We lived amongst humans even though we were werewolves. My father was a werewolf while my mother was human. And according to Father, he was exiled from his pack at age 17 because he didn't shift on time which to the werewolves were supposed to be around 13-16, late 17 and 18. And now I found myself in the same situat

Chapter Two

I woke up with a slight ache at the side of my waist which I knew was due to my long journey yesterday, and I stretched my hands widely across the bed before bending at my side once again. I knew it was time to wake up but I was too lazy getting up from the comfort of my bed.I covered my body well with the duvet, which had slipped off my body while I was sleeping, and I closed my eyes. Early morning sun was peeping in through the window but I ignored it and continued to seek the sleep that I knew had left my eyes. I heard my phone beep, which I had kept somewhere on the bed. I stretched my left hand as I searched for it with my eyes still closed. When I finally got it, it stopped ringing and I sighed happily. Whoever it was that called should have known it was still early to wake someone up, I thought. It started ringing again, this time I picked it up on the first ring and had it on my ear. There was a buzz on the caller's end, and I couldn't make out what he was trying to say. I

Chapter Three

Whatever it was that was being said, Alpha Leo didn't pay attention. He had heard one piece of information and that was enough. He had practically been on the edge to strangle the shivering wolf who passed through his territory. How he hated rogues. They made his skin cringe and his blood turn cold each time he set his eyes on them. And one dared to trespass on his territory. His own Pack House. That one word he mentioned was enough to have his blood boil to the highest degree. He had to clench his fists at his sides with looks enough to kill, while the rogue kept blabbering on. Alpha Light. His name doesn't fit him right, he's supposed to have been named Darkness for his actions today, he sneered in his mind. The rogue had mentioned Alpha Light as the one who had ordered him to spy on his territory. The bastard! It wasn't after too much beatings did the rogue mention their plan to have his pack cleared. For what reasons, he did not know. He had been best friends with Alpha Light si

Chapter Four

Leo knew he had actually caught his attention on this one, and he couldn't help but feel good about it and he burst out laughing, much to Alpha Light's discomfort. He looked at him, his glare saying he still needed to know the truth. But that didn't budge Leo, for he continued laughing.Rain had not actually told him any of his secrets because it wasn't necessary considering he knew how to deal with Light. He also didn't think that a rogue would know so much and now he regretted his neglect for it could have been something if he knew what secret made Light so tense. But he wasn't going to let him know that he had been playing on him, it wasn't ever going to happen. Bob tried calling him and he listened to him through their mind link, he was mad that he was leading Light on without any much back up plan. It was a mistake on his path!He had shouted at him, and he blocked him from messaging him. Then he turned to him and gave him a glare. It was one of the rare times that he ever shou

Chapter Five

Maria had called to tell me that Dad had come home late last night. He was drunk and Mom was mad. She said she couldn't help to lessen the atmosphere between them and she ended up locking herself up in her room.I was worried that Mom would take it out on Dad later on, because she didn't like picking fights with him when he was in a sour mood and I understood why.She was human and she somehow felt afraid of Dad. Dad once told her that he couldn't beat her, Mates never beat their partners but nothing could ever reassure mom especially whenever his teeth and claws elongated. But I knew Dad told the truth, he wasn't a coward and he'd rather lock himself up in a room to calm his wolf down than lay a hand on either of us. But Mom still cowered away.Maria and I had chatted about her first day at college. She was very excited, and she said it wasn't what she had expected from the start. She had thought she would be left in a corner by herself, and sort of snubbed. And she said she had imagi

Chapter Six

Dusk had started to form by the time I left the library. I learnt a lot from the book. It did not say anything about Alpha Leo's pack but I learnt a lot about werewolves than I already knew from having a werewolf father and sister. It had enlightened more about the rules of werewolves, especially their alpha's who had the most title in the pack. From the book, I learnt how to stay alive in the pack by abiding the alpha's rules. But I still needed to find ways to get information about the Alpha. How his temperament works, and whether or not he liked to have women around him. When I got to my street, just a stone throw from my apartment, I saw two ladies fighting. One of them looked like my mate or a year older and the other one was mature. They were scratching their nails on each other's bodies, and from the way they kept their mouths, I knew they were growling at one another. No one seemed interested in separately them, neither were they interested in knowing what caused their fight. Chapter Seven

Leo was riding his car when he suddenly felt the air smelt different. And he started to sniff in the air and all the time he was screaming 'mate' in his mind. He could perceive her, some lavender missed with baby's oil filled his nostrils, and he felt his wolf happy. He turned off the ignition of his car and got down from it when the scent became intense. And he started to walk, following the scent in the air. "Mate." He growled.Suddenly he stopped. And he looked up and growled loudly, not minding if anyone was watching or not. For a long time now, he had waited to have his mate and now she was there, right before him. And he would make her his immediately, he thought. He started walking towards her again, and when they were close enough to lean into each other, he wrapped his arms around her and started sniffing her to confirm whether or not she was his mate. "Mate." He growled, and he felt her tense under him. "You are mine."Anne didn't say a word as she was still stunned by

Chapter Eight

"Oh, am I not going to get a moment of rest?" I stated. "Hmmm, not anymore. If you have been doing that lately, it won't be anymore." He said, as he kissed my forehead. "Have you not gotten enough hug already? We have been hugging for fifteen minutes now. You must surely have work to do." I complained, even though I wanted the moment to last. Being with him somehow made me feel good, and I felt guilty because of Dad. "You are my mate. You come first in my life, and so every other thing comes next." He replied, and I felt really glad. "But you don't know who I am. What I have been through. You know absolutely nothing, so how come you tell me I am your mate?" I said, drawing away to look at him. His eyes told me he weren't joking, that he was being sincere. I swallowed when I saw the intensity of his look, it was as if he was asking more. And more isn't what I was going to give.He lifted my face, and he lowered his face to mine because he was taller than I am. The difference wasn't

Chapter Nine

I woke up with a start. I felt something wet trailing on my body and I jacked up from the bed. I looked up to find Leo beside me. He was still on his clothes and I frowned at him. I didn't like it when someone wakes me up from him, and he was no exception. Whatever it was could still have waited till I had woken up.Rubbing the back of my palm over my eyes, I leaned over to the wall while my hand went over to my mouth to stiffen a yawn. He was looking at me with an expression I didn't understand and I looked at his hands. It was dripping wet. I pointed towards his hands and he looked at me in amusement. And I frowned."I had been trying to wake you up for thirty minutes now, but you wouldn't wake up." He explained, and he sat back on the seat that was close to the bed. "And i did the only thing that I could have done."I sighed, "By dripping me wet? You could have at least drowned me in a river if you wanted to prove some point."He's gray eyes turned a shady dark but I didn't flinc

Chapter Ten

I listened intently as Leo told me about his past. He had a younger sister who he and his Mom used to pet, but she had died when she had gone swimming with some other pubs. According to the pubs - he said - they were all having a good time playing with one another. And most of them were diving into the river. And his sister had joined in. Everyone knew she was scared of diving and they told her not to, but she insisted on doing it. To prove to them she could do what they did too. Then she flipped. And fell over a cliff.Everywhere had gone quiet, as they were all in shock. Until her best friend, Mila, screamed and got the attention of the Sheriff who happened to be in the neighborhood. "I would have saved her if I had been there with all of them. But no, I was proud to be be swimming with little pubs." He cried, and I made him lie down on my laps. I could tell he had blamed himself for that, but it wasn't his fault in the least."No, I'm not sure about that. It would have happened
