Chapter Ten

"How many times today do I have to tell you that I have no idea what you’re talking about? Tell me so I could advance. For the 128th time of the day, Sane, I have no idea, I have none." There was an emphasis on every word that Haniel said. Her eyebrows were already furrowed as she stared at him intently, with a death glare.  Sane knew that she was already annoyed by him, and he also knew how bad it was to mess up with her more, and to push her buttons of her patience like that. But he still couldn't stop himself from asking a dumb question. "Woah, did you seriously count all that?" he asked with a wide mouth. Her stares at him only worsened as she looked even more annoyed at him. He couldn't blame her, though, as he was really insistent on hearing something from her. "I swear, Sane Marco Tolentino, I will really choke you

Chapter Eleven

There was a mix of excitement and fear as Sane trailed behind Haniel who was giving out some flyers. He was convincing her to go with him to see Seleen for herself in chorus to her talking to other people. He was quiet sure he wasn't entertained. He knew that she was already annoyed at him, especially after what she said to him, and if he continued to annoy her further, he’d be finding himself in grave danger. Slightly giving her space, he let her finish doing her task. He just trailed behind her, his gaze shifting from the way that he was walking to the number of flyers that the girl was holding, the anticipation in his chest growing and growing seeing the number of flyers that she was holding becoming lesser and lesser the more she handed them out.

Chapter Twelve

Sane couldn’t get Seleen off his mind, and even when there were a lot of things to focus on, he couldn’t stop pondering about what the possible reasons could be. Even when he needed to listen to his professor’s discussion, he was so distracted with his curiosity with her that at the end of the session, he didn’t even remember a thing. Luckily, there wasn’t any surprise test that happened because if there was any, he was sure to fail, and he could only blame himself for doing so. He came to a thinking that maybe he was too attached to her because he saw himself in her. He wasn’t very certain about it, but there was just something with the girl that was making him want to know her more. There was something special with getting to know a person more, even if it was just a slow process with Seleen. He

Chapter Thirteen

Sane remembered his father to be a loving man. When his father hadn't been addicted to illegal drugs yet he remembered life to be very colorful. From Sundays where they would all go to church, down to Saturdays where they would go out for a simple dinner, Sane thought that there was no end to it. He was also a loving husband, and didn’t abuse his mother in any way. Not until he was introduced to illegal drugs, life started going downhill. Sane recognized the mistake to be his choice, however, he also knew that he was a good man who just made a grave mistake. That was why after everything that had happened, he still couldn’t find the will to loathe him. Maybe he did blame him for their sufferings sometimes, but that was the end of it. He came to a realization that nothing would happen if he just kept on blaming his dad, especially when what was done was done, and there was nothing

Chapter Fourteen

As Sane was walking towards his school, he couldn’t help but remember Seleen’s smiling face. He remembered how her face lit up at the sight of the food, and while she was eating them. However, the look on her face as she answered his question was also stuck in his mind. At that moment, as she talked about the little parts of her story, Sane felt helpless, as if she was too far away to reach even when she was literally sitting beside him.  He wanted to grab her in a gentle manner, afraid that she’d be scared of him if he wouldn’t do it gently, especially after everything that had happened in her life But Sane was too scared to do so, feeling as if he wasn’t even in the right place to stick his nose in her own business. He never even wanted to leave, but the girl insisted as the janitors would only fi

Chapter Fifteen

Sane found out, soon after, that the rest of The Dotish’s members were also dropping out due to their tight schedules. Their calendar was already packed with different gigs, and project deals which did not only mean that they were only going around Penny Lane. Their gigs were more than that, it was already nationwide. They were meant to be known by the people all around the country. The company that they signed with was willing to give them every project possible just for them to be known, and to become one of the most successful rising stars in the industry. Upon knowing that, Sane felt a mixed of emotions on his chest. Sure, he was happy for them, genuinely happy, as he couldn’t stress further how the four of them deserved to be successful in the field. But he still couldn’t stop himself from feeling melancholic because of it. He witnessed firsthand how the band started, a

Chapter Sixteen

When Haniel chose to drink the liquor, it only made the people on the table scream even louder, as if just like him, they were already thinking that by her drinking, it was already considered a yes. Sane wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, especially when there could be a possibility that she did that in order for the situation to be less awkward, if she ever didn’t like him, because it would be too harsh if she’d tell him she didn’t like him in front of everyone. However, it was pretty evident by the way she reacted, and by the way she tried to hide how red her face became, that she really liked the guy. When Sane looked at Nikolaj, he was trying so hard not to smile which only made Claus, Simon and Edmund tease him even more when they saw that. They then proceeded to make the two of them sit beside each o

Chapter Seventeen

When Sane woke up first in the morning, his initial reaction was to immediately curse before feeling the hangover that would ruin his day for two consecutive days in a row. He felt the pain in his head, and it was that kind of pain that seemed like there was a sharp knife inside his skull, and it was being dragged around by an invisible force. Not even a minute after waking up, he felt the need to vomit, but upon seeing that it wasn’t just him in the triple king size bed, he quickly stood before opening the nearest door which luckily happened to be the bathroom. However, when he opened the door, he saw that he wasn’t the only one there as there was a passed out Claus lying on the bathroom floor, and there were even traces of his dried puke on the floor.  Utterly feeling the need

Chapter Eighteen

Seleen felt fragile inside Sane’s careful embrace. It was like he was holding a glass in his arms, and that any moment the glass would break. That was why he held her gently as he squeezed herself against his skin. At that moment, he couldn’t really think properly. It was like things happened so fast that he wasn’t able to grab hold of the very reality.   She seemed unreal in his arms, like a dandelion that the wind could easily blow away. She always sent him into deep thinking. He couldn’t understand her thoroughly. As weird as it sounded, she seemed like a clear water, but that kind of clear water that one wouldn’t figure out what it was hiding under its depths still.    He didn’t know why she was hugging him, and he was afraid that she could feel the hard thudding of his heart against his chest as he had never felt anything l

Chapter Nineteen

Sane considered himself not to be the type who could easily open up to anyone, but when Seleen came into the picture, he found things starting to change, and never did he think that he'd be able to do so with anyone. Because who would even think that he'd be able to meet someone with a story like hers? Who would even think that he'd be able to meet her in the first place?   He left the rooftop that night at 3 AM, when Seleen reminded him that the guards would have their 3-AM rounds any minute, and he ran for his life, but the smile on his face as he did so was still evident.   Even in his sleep, there was still a small smile plastered across his face.   Sane h
