Chapter 60: Graduation Ceremony

“Good afternoon to all of you.” The Grandmaster of the academy started his speech. “I would like to thank you all for coming on this memorable day. As you know, today is when you will officially graduate from the academy and become full time Hunters. I must say that even though the numbers had skyrocketed by more than 40% than the previous years’ candidates. However, that did not stop from…” The Grandmaster’s voice trailed off as Matthew was not really paying attention anymore. Matthew covered his mouth and yawned. It has barely been five minutes and he was already sleepy even though he was just fine a moment ago. His eyes wandered around the vast hall where all the students were gathered to celebrate the graduation of their comrades. Rose was sitting on the girls’ side of the hall, so she was nowhere near Matthew. Matthew stretched his legs and cracked his knuckles to get rid of the sleepines

Chapter 61: Delivery Quest

About an hour later, Matthew was walking towards the front gate with a backpack on his back. Matthew and Rose had agreed to meet up here before heading back to the mansion together, but it seemed that she was not here yet. “Typical girls. Always takes their time.” Matthew muttered. Matthew put down his pack and rested it by the wall. Then he also rested his back on the wall while waiting for Rose. If this was back in his home world, he would be checking out his phone for chats or videos or memes but that was impossible here. A thing he learned here was that the technology in this world is about the same as his, but also vastly different. The functions were the same but how they operate was different. For example, the microphone converts vibrations into electricity by using certain electronic and mechanical components. In this world however, the microphone itself directly converts sound in

Chapter 62: Sudden Preparation

“A delivery quest?” Cecilia asked to confirm what Matthew had said. Matthew and Rose had just arrived from the academy and the group was now inside the living room of Cecilia’s mansion. “Yup, we gotta deliver this box to an old man somewhere in the desert of San Coro. The old man gave a map too.” Matthew lifted his hand that was holding the map. “I thought you said you wanted to lay low for a while.” Yuki said. “Well, yeah, but everyone’s talking about their quests back at the academy. And since we already have a quest right, I thought we might as well.” Matthew said. Matthew hid the fact that he couldn’t hold himself back anymore especially after all that Isaac said. “And you just let him, Rose?” Yuki glanced at Rose. Rose shrugged her shoulders. “There&r

Chapter 63: To The Desert!

A few days later. Feathered feet stepped on the squishy sand at a quick pace. The raptors squawked every once in a while as it ran across the mountains of sand. Matthew and Rose were riding on a raptor while Yuki and Cecilia were on another with Matthew and Yuki as the drivers. Their luggage was placed behind them on the raptors. They were all wearing full cover clothing to protect their skin from direct sunlight and the scorching heat. Matthew was wearing a long sleeved undershirt under his usual red jacket along with a scarf that covered his neck. Rose was just in her usual magic cloak that was already covering her fully, with a few redesign to be suited in the desert including a hood. Cecilia wore a grey dress suited for travelling in the desert and a white hooded cloak covering her head and shoulders. Yuki was wearing her usual hunting gear with a brown hooded cloak. “Never have I thought i

Chapter 64: The Desert Crocodile

“Slow it down Rose!” Yuki shouted again as she started firing arrows at the cloud of sand. Her arrows that seemed normal were imbued with quite a strong spell on it. Rose was also casting multiple low tier spells. Fireballs and slashes of wind were coming out of the magic circles at her hands. The tamsarah was moving in a zigzag pattern to dodge the attacks. Despite its large size, it was evading quite well. For a second, its head was revealed above the cloud of sand. It roared loudly with a gaping maw, showing its two huge tusks on its bottom jaw. Seeing that they weren’t really slowing it down, Rose quickly thought of another way. “Yuki, I have an idea!” “What?” “Don’t stop shooting! I’m going to cast a high tier spell!” Before she even finished talking, Rose was already preparing the spell.

Chapter 65: First Scorpion Contact

Black smoke floated up into the air, from the remnants of the tamsarah. Its corpse was a horrific scene of dried blood and burnt tissue. The sand around it was a pool of molten sand which later cooled down into glass. Yuki and Cecilia were speechless. Even Rose herself was shocked. She had not thought that the effect of the spell was this devastating. “Whoa…” A voice from behind the tamsarah. The girls looked in that direction to find that Matthew was walking towards them while holding his left arm. “Matt, are you okay?” Rose immediately jogged towards him. “Yeah, I’m okay but, that guy looks a bit too hot.” He laughed at his own joke. Rose scoffed. “What’s wrong with your left arm?” “Oh, it’s just a bit aching. Maybe the bone hasn’t fully healed yet. Don’t worry, I&rsq

Chapter 66: Safe Journey(?)

Dawn had come upon the Hunters. Yuki who was the last one to stay on guard watched as the scorpions started to scurry back into their nest. Yuki walked over to the big tent and entered it. Rose and Cecilia were still sleeping. Rose was facing to the side in a proper way while Cecilia was all over the place. It was always like this. Yuki couldn’t help but laugh. “Rise and shine people, it’s time!” Yuki said while she clapped. Rose slowly got up and rubbed her eyes while Cecilia moaned and stretched her arms wide. Seeing this made Yuki think who was the Noble. “Get up, we’re moving out soon.” Yuki said lastly before she went out. She went to the other tent to wake Matthew up as well, to her surprise Matthew was already out of the tent. “Oh, you’re already up?” “Yeah, couldn&r

Chapter 67: Joint Party

Matthew swung his sword around like crazy while killing off a few of the scorpions while Rose was firing blasts of wind and pushed away the scorpions. The scorpions were not focused on them so it was pretty easy to pick them off. Not long after, they finally arrived at where the people were but to Matthew’s surprise one of them was very familiar to him. “Isaac?” He said in a surprised tone. The boy that heard his name got called out turned around in surprise as well. “Matthew?” “Save the chit-chat, we gotta find a way out of this!” A girl from Isaac’s group said. “IS there a way out of THIS?!” A boy from Isaac’s group said. He then had to block an incoming scorpion soldier’s punch. The scorpion soldiers were built like tanks. Their armour was much thicker and tougher than the worker scorpions. Their pincers w

Spiders webs filled the ceilings and corners. Isaac entered the room along with Mira. Mira was holding a small ball of fire in her left hand, lighting the room up. It had a bed on the right, a large wardrobe beside it, a drawer on the other side and a chair by the large window. The glass on the windows are either shattered or scratched. The mattress was dusted with sand and was even torn up. The floor was also littered with sand. Isaac and Mira slowly walked around the room and examined it. The wool carpet was barely visible under it. “Why are we checking every single room of this castle?” Mira asked. “You never know what you’ll find.” Isaac said. “There’s hundreds of rooms in this place. It’s gonna take hours until we’re done.” “Hahaha relax. It’s not like anyone’s gonna come here

Chapter 69: Lost History Of The Fallen Kingdom pt. 2

TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP! Matthew’s and Cecilia’s footsteps echoed in the dark hallway of the basement. There was no light source at all. They only relied on Matthew’s sword to light the way ahead. The iron bars were rusted all over as well as the shackles and chains lying on the ground behind those bars. “You know, I could use light magic.” Cecilia said. “Huh? You can?” Matthew’s eyes widened in surprise. “Well yeah, since Divine Magic is based off of light and holy elements.” “Oh, I see. That’s okay though, you don’t have to do that.” Matthew said. “But what about your mana? Won’t it run out?” “Isn’t it the same to you? I heard that light magic uses more mana than most other magic.” Matthew glanced at Cecilia before facing b
