Chapter 70: Lost History Of The Fallen Kingdom pt.3

Lawen and Apoel were sitting down in front of each other with their backs resting against the wall in a hallway on the first floor of the castle. It was similar to the second floor that Isaac and Mira were in charge of investigating. Instead of bedrooms, the first floor was more like an administration floor. Offices, meeting rooms, throne rooms, a library and other facilities that seemed to be specifically for the royalties’ personal use. Of course, all of them were filled with sand and had deteriorated over time. “There’s loads of things to check man. How are we going to look through them all?” Lawen said. “With time, my friend, with time.” Apoel calmly replied. “How many rooms have we checked?” “I don’t know man, 15? 16?” “And how many more to go?” “What are you asking me fo

Chapter 71: Lost History Of The Fallen Kingdom pt.4

Three out of four pairs had been told of their situation, that leaves one more. Yuki and Rose were standing in front of a wall in a huge hall. Sunlight from the castle’s open courtyard illuminated the entire hall brightly in orange hue due to the sun setting.   Their necks were aching a bit since they had been staring at the wall for a while. Their brains were processing what they were seeing.   “What do you think, Yuki?” Rose asked while glancing at her.   “Well, if this is a dungeon or a temple or ruin it would make sense to see this here but we’re in a castle. Who would put this in a castle?” Yuki’s eyebrows curled, showing her face of confusion.   “Hmm whoever made this mural, what could they mean?” Rose looked back at the wall.   Both of them continued to observe it, trying to decipher the very well done mural that was made with black ink. The mural stretched throughout the

Chapter 72: A Wizard's Diary pt.1

Kaled Ameer. I am just an ordinary man with big dreams as any other young men would have. I dreamt of becoming the greatest mage in history and possibly, forever. For the past decade, I had been studying magic arts to the best of my abilities including alchemy. I had only gotten the idea of writing a diary in a book just a few days before I write here from my newest master. Of course, my other masters also told me to always keep notes and jot down everything new I learnt but my current master said that it would be wise to keep a diary as well and write in it every once in a while to help vent out anything personal and also keep track of my growth. And so here I am. ….. 22nd day, winter, 462. This is my 137th entry. I’m not sure how but somehow I got invited to be a member of the Royal Wizards that serve under the king! I am so happy to be honoure

Chapter 73: A Wizard's Diary pt.2

54th day, winter, 464. We're doomed. The king had already gone against the agreement. He had already formed a joint force regiment with the neighboring nations in preparation for the Scarlett King's army's arrival on the battlefield. The same messenger had come and asked the king to have his men ready and they would head out soon. The king, while smirking, told the messenger what he had planned. Now I knew the king had already posted the joint force surrounding the castle including the enemy forces but what the messenger did made me shocked. He said that they had expected this and were more than prepared. Then, IT happened. The king, his offsprings, the guards, the knights, the maids, everyone was screaming in agony as they slowly morphed into an abomination. They grew scales or armour plates, perhaps an exoskeleton. Their arms became blo

Chapter 74: Secret Treasury

“There, it’s behind the wall.” Apoel said while pointing at the mural wall. “Seriously?” Isaac looked over Apoel’s other shoulder as Lawen had already occupied the other one. “I’m tellin’ you man. Look!” Apoel showed it to his comrades. After checking it out many times over, they also came to believe so. “Yeah, the map shows that it’s there.” Isaac said. “But… How are we going to go there?” Cecilia asked. “Well, we could just bust through but that might not be wise.” Matthew said. “Intentionally damaging structures goes against the Hunter policy.” “Indeed, besides, there has to be a way to open it since it IS a vault.” Mira said. “Oh, like banks with padlocks or something?” Isaac asked.&n

Chapter 75: The Dimensional Crystal

Upon hearing the mysterious red haired man, all the Hunters assumed battle stance. Meanwhile the man was just standing there, smiling. “What are you talking about?” Matthew mustered enough courage to ask. “That thing behind you, that is a high-grade Dimensional Crystal.” The man said. “Dimensional Crystal?” Matthew asked further. “It’s a crystal capable of moving anything through dimensions, basically a teleportation device.” Yuki answer instead. “Huh? What are you going to do with that?” Matthew shouted at the man with a threatening tone. “I don’t have to explain it to you Hunters. I’m just going to take what’s ours.” The man held out a hand forward. In almost an instant, the crystal flew in between the Hunters and straight for the man’s hand.&

Chapter 76: Unexpected Appearance

“Go.” Upon Crone’s command, all of the scorpions instantaneously rushed at the Hunters. Screeches from the scorpions and their footsteps filled the air even though it was in the vast open desert. Seeing the numbers of the scorpions swarming them, it was as if they were backed against a wall. “[Strength] [Versatile] [Longevity] [Haste]” Mira casted buffs on all the Hunters. She was also doing her best to also attack the scorpions. Matthew, Isaac, Lawen and Apoel were on the frontlines, relentlessly destroying the scorpions that came their way. Matthew’s blazing sword was swung around with fury, leaving trails of flame every time he swung it. Isaac’s jet black longsword slicing right through the armor of the scorpions. Lawen was fighting with his lance, piercing through the scorpions with great force and also with his current increased strength he punched a few

Chapter 77: Legendary Hunters pt.1

A battle had begun between the male Hunters and one Scarlett soldier. It may seem that the Hunters had the advantage, however Crone was holding his own quite well against all of them. His movements and skills are clean and precise. Even when the Hunters were able to land an attack, a barrier that Crone had casted on himself protected him from any attacks, allowing him to easily counter them. Yuki, Rose, Mira and Cecilia were worried about their chances of getting out of this alive. “Can we really not help them?” Mira asked. Yuki wanted to answer yes, but she had just remembered something. She glanced back to where the scorpions were, and that beast was still there. “The tamsarah.” She said under her breath. Then she looked at Rose and called her out. “Rose.” Rose turned to Yuki, confused. Yuki just had an idea, she was not sure if it would work or not but it was wo

Chapter 78: Legendary Hunters pt.2

“What… Happened?” Matthew’s voice was weak. He saw Crone walking not far from him. “I did not think that even one of you could injure me by this much, but I thought wrong.” Crone walked slowly past him. Matthew saw what he looked like. Half his clothes were burnt away and was still smoking. A part of his exposed body was also charred but it was slowly healing. Once he was past, Matthew could no longer see him. “You all held out for a good amount of time, and I was told to not kill you just yet. You all will be useful later, but this girl…” Matthew could not see him, but Crone walked up to Rose. “This girl might be useful to be kept with us for now. Her pink hair was partly colored red with blood. Crone was about to touch it when a spark of electricity shocked his fingers. “Don't. Touch. Me.” Rose softly sai

Chapter 79: Legendary Hunters pt.3

Scorpions were all around him, Freeze was still swinging his battle axe around like crazy to fend them off. Even the scorpion guards were not able to attack him. However, he was getting exhausted. “Huff, I really should do more stamina exercises.” He said to himself. Something inside him stirred restless and he noticed it. “Alright, let’s switch it up then.” With one last powerful swing, he knocked all of the scorpions around him away. Freeze crouched and touched the now cold sand underneath him. “[Summoning Magic: Come Forth, Scorpid!]” A very large magic circle formed underneath him. The circle was yellow in color and was about 4 meter in radius. Out of the circle came out a large beast. It had light blue skin and just from the look of it alone, it was very strong and thick. It took the form of a toad or frog with a turtle head and a scorpion tail as well a
