They followed any sounds of battle and encountered a few stray fights in this manner. They were all small fights, consisting only of one or two angels and a few more hell beings. Each time Vanora joined in the fray, Vlad commanded the hell beings to assist in some other fight elsewhere. The angels proved to be no challenge. Vanora was still at her peak performance, while the angels lacked talent and experience. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the pair encountered their largest fight. Five angels hovered in the sky, above the hell beings that Vanora recognised as the ones that got sent away by Vlad. However, every one of them were now glowing white. The two angels that bore weapons and wore colder expressions dominated the fight. The one with a gold lance fought perfectly in sync with the one with a bow. White sparkling arrows that disappeared upon impact rained on the hell beings, causing more chaos among them. Vanora instinctively knew that these two were of a differen

To the angel's horror, Vanora did not dodge like he had expected her to. His slashes had covered every path she could take, but it was the weakest in the path that she chose, which was to fearlessly continue heading towards him. Her flesh got cut up. Some chunks flew off. Some hung off like an open flap. Her right hand was like a claw going straight for his heart. He jammed his swords straight towards her. It was a final, straightforward, and desperate attempt to at least take her down with him. Vanora let herself be stabbed. One went through her chest. The other went through her right arm. In return, she grabbed onto his arms. Before anyone could blink, his arms got tossed to the floor. His cry of pain filled the air. Before he could fly away, Vanora caught the bottom of his robes, then flung him to the ground. The impact broke several bones. The initial pain and shock momentarily paralyzed him. He helplessly watched Vanora comfortably land in front of him.

Vlad teleported himself away, but he did not escape unscathed. His clothes were in tatters. Deep wounds littered his body. However, he stayed among the treetop and looked down at Michael with a smirk, looking completely unbothered by his state. It was as if the battle was already concluded with him being announced as the victor. Michael used his sword as support and pushed himself off the ground very slowly. He was clearly drained of strength. Although he looked up at where Vlad was, there was a glazed over look in his eyes, like he was only half conscious. "Humph. You're still not dead." Vlad sounded a tad bit impressed. "You're either the strongest or one of the strongest already. Then let's see how you survive this!" Vlad multiplied himself again then had all his copies bear down on Michael at the same time.  Despite his spacey look, Michael squeezed the handle of his sword just before the first attack could land. The fog took a much longer time before it cleared up. Vanora inferred that the castle must be quite a distance away from the inn.Once it cleared up, the first thing Vanora noticed was not how ridiculously large and spacious the room was, but how there were piles and piles of black paper scattered around the room. Some were even as tall as her. When she looked down, she found out that they were even standing on some important looking documents. The gold rim and letterings were the only thing that made it stand out against the black floor. "Bloody hell. Didn't Raven say that she took over my duties? How's it such a mess? I don't think two months worth of work is even this much." He frowned, perplexed by the situation of his study."She probably did a bad job for you in vengeance." Vanora explained offhandedly. It definitely sounded like something Raven would do based on what Raven said to Vlad earlier.He looked at her with surprise. "You think so?"

After a short contemplation, the well-respected being finally spoke. "It's still too early to judge anything. We don't know what caused its behaviour. If it's related to its host, we would only be sending another system to its demise. If there are more signs that indicate going towards a negative ending, it'll never be too late to end BaoBao. Give it a system upgrade now, but quarantine its connections. The only ones it should be able to contact is us." No one argued and everyone returned to work. Some continued operations as per normal. Others attended to BaoBao's situation. This was how they were. No fuss, efficient, and effective.
