Chapter 8

“Shawn, what are you doing?” Jenna screamed. She was desperately slapping at his hands and struggling.

However, her strength was no match for a man’s.

Shawn tightened his grip on her throat. His arm flexed as she scratched at his skin, but he did not release her.

He said, “Jenna, did you know that Samantha was pregnant?”

Jenna’s face faltered briefly as if the words caught her off guard.

However, she quickly regained her composure and said, “T-That’s just a lie they made up, right? We all know Samantha can’t get pregnant.”

Shawn continued. “I had Mr. Moore check. When you were a child, you placed a sharpened pencil on her chair and caused her injury. After that, she could never have children again.”

I froze.

Shawn’s words brought back painful memories that I could not suppress.

It had happened before my parents had given up on me.

The pencil had punctured my uterus and had caused severe bleeding.

The doctor had told us that it would be very hard for me to conceive.
