Chapter 3

I stood frozen.

I stared at them in confusion.

Jenna feigned an apology, but her eyes could not hide her smug satisfaction.

“You should’ve seen her face just now. She looked so miserable. Shawn, you’d better go home and comfort her.”

“Shawn, do you think she’ll be mad if she finds out we tricked her?”

I felt like I had been struck by lightning. I could not move.

So all of this was a lie?

But what about my baby? What about me?

“She has no right to be mad at me.” Shawn frowned in annoyance. “She’s always so paranoid. She’s nagging all the time while constantly calling and questioning my relationship with Jenna. Even if she’s not tired of it, I sure am.”

A cold wave washed over me.

But I was not doubting him at all.

Shawn had a weak stomach and loved drinking with his rowdy friends outside.

After we got married, I had to call him three or four times a day to remind him to take his medicine on time.

Apparently, he found that annoying.

Shawn’s parents were just as stunned.
