Chapter 6

He opened the door, but there was no one there.

I let out a sigh of relief.

Mrs. Taylor must have taken away my body before she left.

Shawn searched the house for a long time but could not find me anywhere.

He gritted his teeth and muttered to himself, “Well, well, Samantha, you’ve learned to run away from home, huh?”

I watched him fume. For some reason, I found it strangely amusing.

At that moment, Shawn noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table. As he picked it up and glanced at it, there was a surprised expression on his face.

I floated over in curiosity to see what it was.

It was my pregnancy test report.

The hospital’s stamp was clearly visible at the bottom.

“She’s pregnant. I’m going to be a father?”

Joy flashed across his face. He treated the paper like a precious treasure, carefully folded it, and tucked it into his pocket.

I watched him coldly. A wicked thought suddenly crossed my mind.

What would his reaction be if he knew the child he had been so eager for
