Chapter 4

Shawn pulled out his phone again and opened our chat window.

For a moment, I felt a flicker of hope.

Jenna’s face turned pale. Her eyes reddened as if she was about to cry.

However, Shawn simply blacklisted my number.

It felt like I had been thrown into an icy abyss. I was trembling.

Shawn said, “There. Now she won’t bother us anymore.”

Jenna’s expression brightened. She quickly leaned her head against Shawn’s shoulder and spoke in a soft and delicate voice.

“I knew it, Shawn. You care about me. You wouldn’t leave me.”

The irony hit me like a slap. Did he care for her? What did that make me, his legally married wife?

Jenna and Shawn shared a room.

After playing two rounds of games, she tossed the keyboard aside and pulled up a chair next to him.

She wrapped her arms around his waist.
