Chapter 9 The Ex-Boyfriend

I stared at Finn with reddened eyes. For the first time in my life, I experienced the agony of being betrayed by someone I trusted the most.

"Finn, no matter what ends up happening today, we are through forever."

Finn anxiously looked at me. "We're the perfect match. I know I'm not as rich as he is, but I can give you a good life. Please?"

Ruby decided to add fuel to the fire. "Tina, Finn has been by your side for years. You two have been dating for so long and are clearly in love. Don't do this to him."

"Shut your mouth!" I roared at her.

I glanced at Finn, feeling despair. "I don't need to marry into a rich family. I also don't want you."

I strode out of the Lanes' home.

Joel and Finn raced after me.

"I'll sort this out. I want us to get married," Joel said, grabbing my hands before Finn could.

I was not foolish enough to play hard to get.

"You really aren't the other man," I swore to Joel.
