Chapter 2

Keith had been busy with the business since he took over the KH Development Group. He’s now the current CEO and President of his family’s legacy. He’d been working non-stop to prove to his grandfather that he was the right man for the position. That he didn’t only acquire it just because he married his now wife, Amanda.

He was not supposed to marry his now wife. At that time, Keith had loved only one woman and that was his last girlfriend, Sarah. But she chose to move one, leaving him alone and heartbroken. A simple letter had ended their relationship.

Goodbye, Keith. I need to leave you…

He was devastated that he became rebellious. Keith had become a frequent guest in the bar and ended up drunk all the way home. His grandfather was displeased by his behavior but he was unstoppable. He even brought women to his bed. Yet of all the women he brought home, his grandfather saw him naked with Amanda.

Right there and then, his grandfather decided that they’ll be married at all cost. And he was given no other choice. His position in the company was at stake.

The position was all he was vying to get after he graduated college. He would want to be someone as important to be recognized by Sarah’s family. It was the completion of his dreams. And yet all turned into ashes when she left him for some reason.

Amanda Muñoz. He had never heard the name before. In fact Keith never even recognized her face even on the campus. She had an ordinary face, nothing much that caught his attention. She seemed to be the type of the goody-two-shoes woman. Keith had never liked her women well-behaved. If there’s one thing he loved about them, they are all a little naughty and adventurous in bed.

He’s the guy who always preferred a sweet, no string attached game until he came crossed with Sarah.

Amanda Muñoz. He had never heard the name before. In fact, Keith never even recognized her face even on campus. She had an ordinary face, nothing much that caught his attention. She seemed to be the type of goody-two-shoes woman.

Keith had never liked her women as well-behaved. If there’s one thing he loved about them, they are all a little naughty and adventurous in bed.

If they were not caught at the scene by his grandpa after their one-night stand, he would never marry such a woman as Amanda.

If there’s anything he liked about the woman he married, it should be she’s obedient to a fault. Amanda had never questioned his decision and only waited for his arrival like a proper wife should.

As always, Keith was in his office working on the piles of paper on his desk. The KH Development Group was planning for expansion in the near future and they have acquired numerous proposals from different companies. They all wanted to become acquainted with their well-established name in the business industry.

“Come in,” he said to whoever knocked on the brass door. His secretary greeted him and handed over a brown parcel.

“Someone handed it over, Sir,” He let her leave at once and immediately opened the parcel.

There’s nothing inside but a single piece of flash drive. There’s no even letter whatsoever accompanying it. Keith thought that it was some kind of a prank but curiosity got the best of him. He inserted the flash drive into his laptop and after a few more clicks, its contents flashed before his eyes.

All her images of her meek and innocent wife getting intimate with another man.

Keith stared at each image, all the more igniting the anger inside of him. He never thought he could hate someone to this extent.

“You don’t do this to me, Amanda,” Keith uttered in pure disgust as he cursed his wife’s name over and over. He felt betrayed by the woman who once proclaimed her loyalty to him.

He can’t take that his own wife committed infidelity against him.

Against him? Against Keith Harris?

Then Amanda’s mocking face appeared in his mind.

Rage got the best of him and Keith threw the ceramic vase near him against the wall. It instantly crashed and its pieces scattered on the floor. He was fuming mad and breathing heavily when his secretary came back, alarmed.

“Sir—”

“Get out!” Keith ordered. “I said ‘Get Out!’”

Frantic, she immediately closed the door and left him thinking what he should do.

He can’t let things be as it is. He needed to do something. Then the idea of divorce comes to his mind. And without much thought, Keith dialed the number of their family lawyer.

“This is not an easy process,” his lawyer talking some sense to him over the phone. “Should I—”

“Get the papers done in an hour, Attorney,” Keith was controlling his anger for as long as he could. He needed to still be patient even if it nearly killed him. “I would never tolerate her infidelity!”

“No one can do this to Keith Harris!”

“Of course, Sir,” His lawyer said and then he ended the call.

Keith immediately printed the proof of Amanda’s betrayal and infidelity. He wouldn’t let his wife get away with this. No one can make a fool out of him, not even his own wife! If Amanda thought that he’ll be okay with whatever she’ll do behind his back, she’s in for the greatest surprise of her life.

Later that afternoon Keith received his lawyer together with the documents he asked him to prepare. He left his office at once and headed straight to the house she fondly called their home. Keith made sure that this night will be the last time Amanda will step inside his property.

He came as soon as he could but Amanda was nowhere to be found inside.

Normally, she’ll be waiting for his arrival on the sofa with that innocent face and soft smile. But darkness was all he could see. No lights had been turned on. So he decided to wait for his wife to come back to the sofa.

Keith waited patiently until he heard her car parked in their garage. He glanced at his wristwatch. It’s half past ten in the evening. Amanda had never been away from this house for that long.

And his small wife hadn’t even informed him of his whereabouts either.

“You’re back home?” Keith wanted to laugh at how ridiculous that question sounded. Obviously, she wasn’t expecting him to be back at home this soon.

After shoving into her face the proof of her infidelity, she was speechless to deny it. Keith got more furious.

He didn't know he had a promiscuous woman as his wife.

After urging her to sign the divorce papers, he left her, slammed the door behind and hit the road with his car.

He needed to do something to forget about Amanda and her infidelity.

Tonight, he’s a free man. And what’s the best way of celebrating being free from the marriage he wasn’t supposed to be with?

He knew the best place.
