Chapter 1

"Jacob, where are you going?" Nicole asked and followed him.

He just continued walking towards the elevator of his company.

"Don't try to talk to me, Nicole. I saw you with that stupid janitor," Jacob replied and waited for the elevator to open.

Nicole smiled secretly. That's what she dreamed of. A possessive Jacob.

"But we're just talking about his work. Jacob, please, believe me," she begged and exactly the elevator opened.

Jacob walked in and she followed him.

She heard Jacob sigh.

"Okay, fine. I believed in you. I know you're not going to love that man since he's just a janitor," Jacob said and faced her while smiling.

She just smiled at him.

Their face become closer until their lips were an inch away. She closed her eyes and waited for Jacob to kiss her.

But she was shocked when she felt a splash of water on her face.

"Nicole!" she heard her mother shout.

"Mom!?" she opened her eyes and looked at her mom.

"I told you not to lucid dream often. It may affect your mental health," her mom said.

"Mom, what's the importance of having a power like Lucid dreaming if I wouldn't use it?" she asked philosophy.

"Nicole, sleep paralysis is always twin to Lucid dreaming. See what happens to your great-grandmother who Lucid dreams about often? She died," her mother said while preparing her uniform.

"Mom, I'm not like her who abused it and escape reality," she replied.

Her mother sighed.

"Okay fine," it replied and walked towards her door. Before it could go out of her room, it speak again.

"Just prepare for your work so you can see what your dream man was doing with another girl," her mom said jokingly.

She rolled up her eyes when her mom finally went out of her room.

Nicole was a Lucid dreamer. She can control her dream and the characters in her dream. She can be what she wants in her dream. She can be rich, powerful and influential.

One of her dreams is that Jacob was in love with her. In her dream, Jacob loved her and they were living together in a condo. Kate was her best friend in her dream and was in love with Jacob but Jacob snubbed Kate and was deeply in love with her.

But in reality, Jacob was her boss and she was just Jacob's secretary. And Jacob was in love with another girl, Kate who's a supermodel. She and Kate are not close. She's just dreaming and imagining things. She's just dreaming that Jacob would love her.

The fact that she can control her dream, the fact that something harmful may happen to her. If she becomes obsessed with Lucid dreaming, she may be forever trapped in her dream.

Well, it is not impossible. Because she wanted to escape the reality that's why she often Lucid dreaming. She used to be Jacob's lover but Kate, her best friend who became a supermodel, stole Jacob from her.

She wanted to escape reality because she was tired of seeing both of them happily in love with each other. She was in so much pain. She was torn apart. It is supposed to be her who's with Jacob.

She sighed deeply when she remembered everything happened in the past.

She stood up and prepared for her work.

When she was done, she went out of their house and started walking towards the bus stop.

She waited for almost thirty minutes at the bus stop and she was now in a hurry because she was sure that her boss, Jacob, will be angry at her. After all, she's late.

She's now on the elevator and when it tings, she went out and runs towards the office of her boss. She didn't care if she was wearing high heels.

"Good morning, miser Chai," she greeted the manager of the company and went inside her boss' office.

"Sir--" her eyes widened when she saw Kate and Jacob kiss.

"I'm sorry," she said and turned her back.

"No, it's okay," Kate said while grinning and seems like she was teasing Nicole.

"Uhm, what's my schedule for today?" Jacob changed the topic.

Nicole was still facing the door while checking her office tablet for Jacob's schedule today.

"Hey, Nics, it's okay. You can face us now," Kate said while smiling.

Nicole slowly turned back and faced them with an awkward face.

"Uhm, sir, for this morning you had three meetings," she said without looking at them. She can see in her peripheral view that Jacob is now sitting in her swivel chair while Kate was standing beside him.

"Hon, I may go now. My mom told me to come to their home because they will be having dinner with their investors at their house," Kate said and kissed Jacob on his cheeks.

"Okay hon, take care," he replied and smiled at her sweetly.

Nicole's face turned bitter and she even murmured.

"What are you saying?" Kate asked her but she just smiled awkwardly.

"Nothing ma'am," she said while faking her smile.

Kate just rolled up her eyes and walked in front of her. And when Kate was gone, she slowly walked towards Jacob's table and sat down on the chair in front of his deck.

"Do you have any order, sir?" she asked.

"Uhm, nothing. Just told my driver to prepare my car for my meeting with Mister Lee. We shouldn't be LATE," Jacob said.

"Is it that important?" she asked curiously.

"Yeah. He was my best friend's father. Nathan Lee was my best friend but he's been in a coma for ten years because of a car accident," Jacob said and looked at hr.

"So, is he going to invest in our company?" she said.

Jacob frowned and looked back at him.

"I mean, in your company?" she added.

"Nope. I will invest in his company so that he can sustain what Nathan needs on his surgery to make him awake," Jacob said.

Because of what Jacob told her, she remembered the day she was about to be hit by a car.
