Chapter 1

"Remember what I told you?" Father asked me as he turned to me. I look away from the white oak door to him and nod. 

"Stay quiet and smile?" He gives me a slight grin. 

"As soon as we walk through that door the deal is done. Dex is free to deal with you as he pleases. I would try to listen as best as you can because his temper is almost as bad as mine." I swallowed harshly as I glanced at Mom who looked at me with a smile and nodded. I look back at Father and nod. 

"Okay," I breathe. He nods and turns to the door. It opens and I get a heavy wave over my chest. I knew this was it. I was going to get married at the age of 24 to a man I'd never met. Father stepped inside and was greeted by a man who looked a few years older than me. He had black hair and brown eyes. He looked very fit as if he worked out every day. He dressed in designer clothes that a rich man would wear. He spoke with a Mexican accent as he shook father's hand. I glanced at the guy standing next to him who listened to what they were saying. He glances at me and smiles. His eyes were neon green and his dark brown hair looked freshly cut as did Dex's hair. This guy stood like he were a soldier or a bodyguard. But he dressed in the same designer clothes as Dex. I put my eyes back to Dex as he and his father turned to me. 

"I hope I didn't do terribly?" Father said. Dex smirked as he tucks his hands in his pockets while his eyes raped over my body. I put on a small smile. 

"You did wonderfully. She is beautiful." I glance at Dad and back at him. He takes his hand out of his pocket to motion me to him. I take a few steps and stop a few feet in front of him. "What is your name?" 

"Grace," He hums. 

"Your voice is very attractive." 

"Thank you," He walks around me a few times and hums. 

"Grace Wilson?" He said as he stopped in front of me. "Has a ring to it doesn't it?" 

"It does," said the guy behind him. I glanced at him as he looked at me. I gulped and looked back at Dex. 

"When is the wedding?" I asked. He chuckles. 

"Don't worry, Grace. We will get to the details later. But for now, your father and I have other details to discuss." He snaps his fingers. "Luca, take her to her room." The guy behind him moves around him and walks up to me. I look at him as he motions me towards the stairs. I looked down and took a step and another one. We get to the top of the stairs and I glance down to see Dex watching me from a couch while father sat next to him. He sipped on a drink as he talked to Father. I look back at Luca who was walking next to me. 

"Why do you look calm?" He asked. His accent sounded like a melody in my ears. I had a thing for accents and both of them were winning me over. They were both already attractive but the accent made them even more attractive. 

"Excuse me?" I asked quietly as I looked at Luca. He lets out a soft chuckle. 

"Your father sold you for money and you don't seem the least bit scared." I nodded. 

"It makes no sense to be scared about something you don't have control over. I come from a long list of women who were sold by their fathers. I guess you can I wasn't surprised when my father told me it was time." He nods. 

"If you ask me, it seems a little cruel to sell your daughters to men you know nothing about but in the line of work, it's expected to get what you need. You can always have more children." I look away from him and look at the ground. I mentally prayed that I couldn't have children. "This is your room."

I looked up and saw the room was huge. I take a step in to see a huge bed, two dressers, there were two walk-in closets, and a bathroom. There was a bay window with an amazing view. I looked around the room to see it was bare. The only color was the dark grey color that covered the walls and bedsheets. I take a deep breath. 

"It's a huge room," I mumble. 

"Well you are sharing it with Dex and he likes his space." I nod and look back at him. 

"Good to know." He looks at me for a while and tucks his hands in his pockets. 

"How many boyfriends have you had?" I give him a confused look. 

"What makes you think I have had any?" He shrugs. 

"You didn't even bat an eye when I said you sharing it with Dex?" I nodded. 

"We are to be married. I expected it." He nods slowly. 

"I've never seen someone so calm before." I shrug. 

"I'm calm now but that's because he's down there." He smiles. 

"So you are calm around me then?" I shrug. 

"I suppose so. Is that a problem?" He shakes his head. 

"I guess it's a good thing you find one thing that keeps you sane." I giggle. 

"I didn't say you make me sane. I said you make me calm. There is a big difference." He nods. 

"True." 

"If you don't mind me asking who are you to Dex?" He smiles. 

"I am his best friend and for the time being I am your bodyguard." 

"Oh goody," He shakes his head. 

"I will let you make yourself comfortable. I will be right outside if you need me." I nod and watch him walk out. As soon as the door closes I take a deep breath. I walk up to the closet by the door to see if filled with men's clothes kind of like what Dex was wearing. I close it and walk over to the other side. I open the closet to see it filled with women's clothing. I take a step inside and look at the clothing. The clothes were beautiful. Whoever picked them out had great taste and knew my size. 

"Feel free to try on anything you like." I hear behind me. I let out a small smile as I turned to Dex. 

"They are beautiful. Did you pick them out?" He nods. 

"I didn't know what you liked so I chose what I liked." I let out a small laugh. He smiles as he looks at me. He takes a step towards me. I watch him with amusement. "You are calm for a woman who didn't have much of a say in this?" I nodded. 

"I guess it helps that you are very attractive." He chuckles. 

"You are honest? I like that." I smile. "Come here." I take a few steps towards him and he wraps his arm around me. The dress I was wearing picked up a little and raised on my thighs. I placed my hand on his chest to stop myself from going face-first into his chest. I let out a small gasp and looked up at him. He smirks. His gorgeous Hershey's eyes look into mine. "I am a respectful man when it comes to women but if you push me I can be disgraceful. If you respect me enough to listen, you won't have anything to worry about. Understand?" I nod. 

"I do." He chuckles. 

"Save those words for the wedding." I roll my eyes and look away. He uses his free to force me to look back at him. "I will be a great husband if you give me a chance." 

"You say that like I have a choice." He shakes his head. 

"Your father sold you to me which means you are mine. If you do not wish to marry me, you do not have to but you will be here to fulfill my needs anyway. The only difference is you won't be the only woman in my bed." 

"So either I share you with any woman who you desire or I marry you and no other woman can touch?" He nods. 

"Exactly," I smile. 

"As I said, it helps that you are very attractive." 

"I'm taking that as a yes for my proposal?" 

"Well I don't see no ring but yes it was." He nods. 

"Tomorrow you will go ring shopping with Luca if you wish. You do not have to wear the ring if you don't want people to know. But I will have you wear it when I have company over for dinner." I nod. 

"Okay," He sucks in a deep breath as he looks down at my exposed shoulders. 

"If until the wedding you wish to have a room of your own, you may. I do not blame you for not wanting to share a bed with a stranger just yet." I nod. 

"Maybe for a night or two if you don't mind." He looks into my eyes. 

"As you wish." He looks into my eyes for a little while longer. "I will have Luca show you to a room." He said dropping his hands. He walks to the door and opens it. "Luca?" Luca pops his head and looks at me than him. "Please show Grace to one of the guest rooms." Luca looks at me and nods. Dex looks at me. 

"Thank you," He nods. 

"I have a business trip I have to take in an hour but I will be back for dinner. Luca is cooking." I nod. 

"Okay," 

"Luca will follow me down the stairs to get a cell phone from me and give it to you. It is the only one you will use." I nod. 

"Okay," He holds out his hand. I look down pull out my old one from my purse and hand it to him. 

"Any of these numbers worth remembering?" He asked. I look at the phone and back at him. 

"A few." He nods. 

"I will add them to your new phone." I shallow harshly and nod. I walk past him up to Luca. He waits for me to walk out. Luca walks next to me as we walk in silence. 

"From where I stood you seem comfortable with him as well." I look at him. 

"He's not what I expected." He nods. 

"Dex is a respectful guy when it comes to women but if you provoke him, he is everything but." I nod. He stops and opens a door. I look at it and walk in. It has everything Dex's did but not two walking-in closets or two dressers. I sit down on the bed and look around. Luca leans on the door and looks at me. "What is the real reason you are okay with everything?" I look at him and look away. 

"It's a long story." He nods. 

"I get that."
