Chapter 8

"Your friend didn't seem to like that you are getting married to me," Dex says as he gets down the steps. I look at him surprised. 

"Ken just wants what's best for me." He nods as he slides on his jacket. 

"If that were the case then why didn't he make an offer to William for you?" I sigh and look down. 

"He did but my father didn't take his offer because he wanted to get to you," he scuffs causing me to look up at him. 

"So Kenneth made an offer that your father refused because of me?" I nod slowly. He lets out a dry smile. "He came into my house telling me things he can offer because he knew exactly what I would want?" He pauses as he looks at me for a minute. "Well, there's something he didn't realize." He said walking past me to the mirror 

"What is that?" I asked. He looked at me. 

"I want you more." I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face as I heard footsteps behind me. I turn around to see Olivia folding her arms and Luca walking behind her. 

"Do I really have to go? You are just introducing your men to your bride. That has nothing to do with me." Dex lets out a dry laugh as he shoves his hands in his pockets. 

"Olivia, I am only going to tell you this just once. Do not push me today. You will regret the outcome." She looks down. 

"Dex, come on, she was only asking," I say quietly. He looks at me surprised. I gulp. "I'm sorry," He smiles and looks at Olivia. 

"Think of it this way, if you manage to not piss me off today, I'll consider allowing you to have more freedom." She looks at him surprised and looks at me. I look at Luca who smiles at me. I turn to the door and Dex opens it for me. We get out of the cars at some warehouse half an hour from town. Two guys walk out of the warehouse. One was wearing only joggers as sweat rolled down his chest. The other was wearing basketball shorts with a muscle shirt. They walked up to us and Dex stopped walking. 

"Hey, boss, the guys are still training." The shirtless one said. Dex nods. 

"I figured as much. I'm not here for that." He gives him a confused look until he looks at me. I look at him for a second and put my eyes on the ground. 

"Who is this?" He asked. 

"This is Grace. We are getting married in two days." They started laughing causing me to look up at them. They looked at me and the shirtless one shook his head. 

"Don't take it personally, doll face. We just have been here before. With her to be exact." He said pointing at Olivia. I look down and take a step back behind Dex. He moved a bit causing me to glance at him to see him watching me. I look back down. 

"Parker how about you shut up and listen," Dex said. I could tell his eyes were still on me but I ignored him. He takes a deep breath. "I just need Luca to run you through the plans for Friday." He said turning his whole body towards me. He places his arms around me as Luca starts walking. Olivia was standing awkwardly by us. "Luca?" Luca stopped walking and looked back. 

"Yeah?" 

"Take Olivia with you." Olivia peeked her attention at Dex with confusion. She looks at Luca and walks with him. I watched them walk to the warehouse and when they were out of view I turned my attention on Dex. "What is wrong?" I let out a small breath of air. 

"I don't do well under pressure and I've never been around so many dangerous people before." He lets out a dry laugh. 

"These people aren't going to put you in any danger. These are the people who are going to protect you. He was out of line but it wasn't like you didn't already know about Olivia." I look away from him and sigh. 

"I'm confused as to why you would need a wife?" He uses his hand to make me look at him. 

"Because I need someone to fulfill my desires. Because I want someone to hold me at night. Because I want you and only you." My heart skipped a beat as I heard that last part. I look into his eyes to see nothing but the truth. He turns his head away from me. Tomorrow we are to have dinner with my father, my uncle, and my brother. Your father will be there too so I want you to invite your friend." I give him a confused look. 

"The same friend you have a problem with?" I asked. He looks back at me. 

"Yes, Kenneth," I nod. He hums. "I would like you to invite him over for dinner tonight. I would like to get to know more about this guy." I take a deep breath. 

"Do I have a say in this at all?" He lets out a dry laugh. 

"What do you think?" I roll my eyes as we walk back to the cars. I dig out my phone and dial his number. 

"Yes, beautiful?" I roll my eyes at him. 

"Dex wants you to come over for dinner tonight." He hums. 

"To scowl me no doubt," He said with humor in his voice. I let out a dry laugh. 

"Probably," I said glancing at Dex. He smiles as he starts the car. 

"I'll be there if that will make the husband happy," He said. I smile. 

"I'll see you around seven?" 

"See you soon beautiful," I hang up and look at Dex. He smiles more. 

"Your boyfriend agreed?" I scuff. 

"Don't do that," He looks at me with a smile. 

"I'm just messing with you." He turned his attention back to the road. We get back to the house and I walk in to see a man standing in the living room. He turned towards me as he heard the clicking of my shoes. I was shocked. 

"You must be the bride-to-be?" He asked. I blinked a couple of times before turning to Dex. He sighed. 

"You didn't tell me you had a twin," I said crossing my arms. He looks at his brother. 

"That was tomorrow's surprise. As in you weren't supposed to meet him until then." I give him a confused look and turn back to him. His brother smiles. 

"Oh come on Dex, if she is to be my sister-in-law then I believe I have the right to meet her before the wedding," He said. 

"What are you doing here, Jax?" Dex asked as he poured himself a drink and sat down in the living room. Jax poured himself a drink as well and walked to the living room. I watched them carefully still shocked. 

"I came to discuss this wedding deal," Jax said as he sat down in front of his brother. Dex kept his eyes on me. He took a drink as I looked at his brother. 

"Grace?" I look back at him. "Baby, come here," He said. I walk over to him and he pulls me down on his lap. I give him a confused look as he looks at me. 

"Dex," I hiss. He smirks. His attention went back to Jax. 

"My wedding is nothing for you or anyone to discuss unless you are asking me where to put the flowers." I shake my head at his behavior around his brother. 

"Father has a few questions based on your last-minute decision to marry this woman," Jax said. Dex hums. 

"Father doesn't have these questions you do." Jax lets out a hum himself. 

"You are correct," Dex started to draw circles on my knee. 

"You know what you don't understand, Jax?" He lets out a noise meaning he was listening. 

"Please, do tell," He said. Dex's eyes went back on me and he started to undress me with his eyes. 

"Marrying Grace wasn't a last-minute decision." His eyes went back to his brother. "I've been planning on marrying her for a while you just didn't know about it." Being in the same room with these two was like being in a lion's den with two male lions fighting over the role of king. Dex acted differently around his brother. He was more confident but most of all he seemed more dangerous around him. He acted as if he would kill if it came down to it. Dex around his brother was kind of a turn-on in a million ways. I cross my legs thinking about it causing Dex to drop his gaze to my thighs. He smirks a bit before looking back at his brother. 

"Forgive my confusion I just figured this was your way of keeping your position in the company because father gave you no choice," Jax said. I look at him with confusion. He looks at me and smiles. "Which I'm guessing your bride knows nothing about?" Dex opened his mouth to say something. 

"It's not that I don't know It's that I don't understand why you care. If he is your brother you should be happy about his decisions. Are you so self-centered that your brother's happiness means so little to you?" Jax chuckles. 

"I see why my brother likes you." He hums. "My brother's happiness is of the utmost importance to me. As for self-centeredness? Well, I wouldn't be a businessman with a lot of money if I wasn't a little self-centered." He stands up and sets his glass down. "I will see myself out," He walked out the front door and I looked back at Dex. He looks at me with amusement. 

"You are amazing," He mumbled. I roll my eyes. 

"You didn't tell me you had a twin or about whatever he was talking about." He nods. 

"You are right. I left a few things out of our conversation earlier that I didn't think was important." I stand up but he grabs my hand. "Where are you going?" 

"I'm not going to have a conversation with you while I am on your lap." He hums. 

"Why did the idea of you being on top of me, make you uncomfortable?" I felt my face go a bit red and I shake my head. 

"You are a different person when you are around your brother," He sighs. 

"My brother brings out my inner demons. He always wanted what I have and most of the time he gets it. Which is why I didn't want you to know about him until the wedding." I cross my arms and sit next to him. 

"Are you worried I'll find your brother attractive too?" He smirks. 

"No," I hum. 

"You may have the same face but I can tell the difference between you two. His face is the opposite of yours. He looks like he is sick and sadistic. You don't give off that type of vibe to me." He lays his hand on my leg with a smile. 

"So I am attractive to you but my brother with the same face isn't?" I smile. 

"Exactly," He leans forward towards me and I watch him carefully. He pulls me to him. "What are you doing?" He just smiles. He places his lips on mine and to my surprise, I kiss him instantly. The kiss was soft and gentle. When he pulled away he had his eyes closed. 

"I'm never going to get used to that." He mumbled. I give him a confused look. 

"To what?" His eyes went on mine. 

"Kissing you, it's like a drug," I smile and look down. 

"I should get into the shower and get dressed." I stood up and walked up the steps.
