"Adi, ready to leave?" Leo asked her standing outside their room waiting for her.
"Yes," came a reply from her as she exited the room.
"Let's meet the King before we leave," he proposed. Adi nodded and followed him. The weapon was securely placed in their bag, so there was nothing to worry about.
As they exited the passage, they saw King standing there ordering something to Fredrick. Leo saw King smiling gently at them as they approached.
"Greetings my Majesty," they both greeted. The King nodded.
"We will take your leave, our Majesty. As we had informed earlier, we need to get to our mission," Leo said politely.
The king nodded, understandingly and said, "I have a few things to discuss with you before you go."
Leo looked at him confusingly, wondering what the King wanted to discuss. He didn't want to reveal their real identity to anyone as it might put them into serious trouble.

"S-s-so. I-it was y-you!" the man stuttered. His eyes widened, brows drew together and mouth open. He was stunned. Fear showed in his eyes as he looked ahead of him. Silhouette of a man standing, turned around to face him. He held a mysterious smile as he replied, "Yes, it was me!" With that he turned back and walked away, leaving the man on his own. ***** Year 1450 The serrated mountains loomed in the distance, when seen from the dense forest. The ancient trees stretched away from the crinkly floor. The forest was filled with the sound of crackling twigs from old trees, scurrying squirrels who searche
Year 2051 The world appeared to be on another level. Small towns and villages were demolished and were replaced by hitech cities. One side of the city was associated with a stream. The city was developed in well planned and decent order. When seen from a bird's eye, the primary paths associated with each other in a hexagonal pattern that together resembled a honeycomb. The dominance of artificial intelligence in technology made the working hours less grueling, which in turn gave more time to focus on building relationships. Small houses and apartments were replaced by huge Manors, bungalows and skyscrapers. People travelled in their flying cars or in the levitating public transport. Creation of Robots supplanted all household works that worked on the commands given to them by their masters. This was the ideal situation of how the world ought to resemble in future. In the middle of all hustling and bustling, a co
Morning that day… "Leo!" Adi called. "Yes honey?" came a reply from Leo who was sitting on the couch, working on a virtual touch screen in front him. "I will be going out with Lily. Okay!" "Yea. I recall you telling me. Umm, Is it today? Missing you already." Leo said, gazing at Adi who was running her fingers to fix her hair. "Oh, I'll come back soon honey. And I have informed Emily about the lunch. I'll try to come home by that time. Okay?" “Okay. Will wait for you.” “Yes. Let me have a final look at myself. I will be meeting her after many days.” “You always look beautiful.” Adi flustered at his words. Even after so many years of living with Leo, she still couldn't hold her blush when he praised her. She began walking towards the mirror with a wide smile. "Ohh I remember. Did you consider moving this mirror elsewhere? It looks odd in the hall." Adi asked. "I don't know. I tried man
Leo flipped to a random page and waited for the words to appear. Instead of words, this time, an image appeared on the page and the characters started moving. It felt like a thick screen in hand and they were watching a video. Date: 10th October, 1474 Lenn looked outside his window. Day appeared gloomy. Dark clouds surrounded the sunny Helenton village. He sighed and murmured, "Never seen Helenton in this weather." He walked down towards the breakfast table. A man in his middle age came towards the table. He had worn a white shirt and black trouser with a toque blanche over his head. He was the butler of the house. He seemed tense. "Why are you anxious?" Lenn asked. "Nothing much sir. Just some random stuff and work stress." He replied. "When did you begin calling work as stress, Bob? You can't lie to me." Bob sighed. His eyes looked upward try
Date: 30th December, 1474 The Dark Lord stood at the periphery of the Magna kingdom. War against the king Aldrich Eversons began. Enemies being aggressive, burst into the kingdom. Soldiers of Magna tightened their grips on the weapons. Their eyes widened as they saw witches flying towards them on their broomsticks. Although they had encountered witches several times before, having a war against thousands of them at a time was challenging. It was the first time they had a war against magical creatures. "Dodge this mere human." One of the witches squeaked. She raised her broomstick, moving upwards and sprinkled a green powder on him. "Ahhhhhh!" Screamed the soldier as his eyes burned. He rubbed his eyes trying to soothe them. The witch cackled looking at the struggle. She picked him by one hand and moved upward. "How dare you touch me, you filthy woman? Put me down!" The man yelled at her.
Date: 19th April, 1475 Lenn walked around the room tensed. "Whom are you waiting for Lenn?" Ada asked as she entered the room. "Messenger Adi, to give updates on the war. Past days, I was able to witness the battle being with the King before he ordered me to come back to Helenton." Lenn replied. "I know the situation is out of our hand now. All we can do is pray to god." Ada said. "I know Adi. If only I had made the weapons stronger, if I was there to help them." Lenn said in a lower voice. He was frustrated at himself for being unable to help them. "Don't blame yourself. You did what you could do." Ada solaced. Soon a man in a red cloak came into their sight. Lenn hurried towards him. "What's happening there?" He asked curiously. "Sir Lenn, it's bad news." The messenger said in undertone. Lenn stopped on his track. He looked at him blankly. He couldn't figure ou
Leo starred at the old, earthy coloured leather diary. He experienced mixed sentiments. His face which held an astounding appearance a few moments ago now showed the look of scepticism. He glanced around the basement in confusion. His eyes finally came to settle on Adi. She too held a similar expression as him. The diary had left them speechless for several minutes. "What the hell is this? If this is a prank I am going to sue that person." Leo said annoyingly, breaking the silence. "Why do you think it's a prank?" Adi said, furrowing her brows. She battled in her mind whether to believe in it or not. Her mind made her accept the truth but her heart ached against it knowing the end misery, the blood spattered letter. "Adi, this is complete gibberish. I don't trust it. As I said, it is just a joke. Someone has tricked us. Don't worry, we will figure out how and who thought to execute it. There are numerous antique shops that deal in these
"What was that?" Adi asked Leo. "Let’s check." The two of them strolled up the stairs from the secret basement towards the entrance of their living room. As soon as they reached the last step, they saw a man in black jeans and a black hoodie at the entrance looking ahead, running his fingers to set his hair. "Alex." Adi and Leo called out in unison. Alex frowned at the voice he heard. He searched for the source of the voice. He was certain he heard it came from the mirror in front of him. He began analyzing it curiously. "Is he not able to see us?" Adi asked. "From the way he is behaving, it seems so." Alex was examining the mirror when he saw two grinning faces emerging out from the mirror. He recognized them as Adi and Leo. He was surprised and shocked. He opened his mouth to ask them and he saw both of their eyes widened and Adi yelled, "EMILY NO!" He turned around only to get hit on his forehead and pass
