Episode 5

Derek's mom was so happy to see her son that she had to throw a welcome party along with her husband's death anniversary. A double celebration. Mrs. Edwina asked me to help in getting the decorations for the party from the store, and since Derek had nothing else to do, he accompanied me, and we did some shopping together.

"Hey! What about this?".

He was at the mall together, and Derek showed me a pinata. He wanted it at his celebration; it wasn't a bad idea, but then again, we weren't celebrating a four-year-old birthday.

"Really? What will your fans think?". I collected the pinata from his hand and kept it back on the shelf.

"Fine! I am a superstar, and I deserve good things, also remembering that tonight's also for my last father."

He shrugged and then left.

We took the necessary things for the party and then came back with a full car trunk.

A few of the helpers assisted me with the groceries by taking them to the kitchen. I was meant to go with them, but Derek wanted me to try out a dress he bought from his mother.

"Good morning, son.".

Mrs. Edwina greeted her son after locking eyes with me.

"Good morning, mom; is the dress ready?". Derek asked his mother.

And she was so happy to hand over two beautiful dresses to her son.

"I hope this is to your taste.".

As her eyes met with mine, I felt a lump on my throat.

Derek bought the dresses for me and then asked me to choose between the two dresses. They were so beautiful that I almost didn't want to choose.

After contemplating, I decided to go with the one I liked, and it was less exposed.

The death anniversary and welcoming Derek home started, and the guests were gradually arriving at the party. Derek's mom and siblings came downstairs and joined us to prepare for the anniversary of their father and to also welcome Derek home after so many years.

"Sarah, can you help me take out the trash from the kitchen to the back of the ouse?" ...

Eleanor, Derek's sister sends me on an errand...

"Okay, I will." I grabbed my purse and left for the kitchen.

There was some bagged trash in the kitchen, and I took it outside. I opened the trashcan, and just as I turned around to leave, I noticed a man looking across the house.

He looked like someone who wanted to come in, and as I contemplated whether to go out and speak with him, I was called back inside.

"Sarah, why were you outside?".

Justin took me to the table where Derek was seated and interrogated me in his presence.

"Oh! Eleanor asked me to take out the trash.".

I replied to his question and grinned faintly.

Justin all of a sudden became triggered by my response, that he implored Derek to speak to his sister. I was waiting for him to speak on the matter, but he kept quiet and continued looking at the picture frame of his father.

"Derek, are you listening?".

Justin realized that he wasn't paying attention to him.

"What! Did anything happen?".

He said as we were able to trigger his attention over to us.

"Obviously, your sister wants to turn your assistant into a maid, don't you get it?". .

As Justin continued to complain, Eleanor came to our table, and we were all taken aback by her arrival.

"What! Did I do something wrong?". She asked after taking a glance at our faces.

Justin wanted to respond to her, but Derek held back his hand and stopped him.

He then stood up and replied to his sister's question.

"Hey, Did you ask Sarah to take out the trash?".

Eleanor looked unbothered by his question but ended up answering it.

"Yeah! I thought she could help us; what's the big deal?". She turned to me and said, "Did you feel insulted, Sarah?". Her eyes were giving careful thought to how to respond to the question.

I didn't want to be the one to cause a rift between Derek and his sister, and so with that, I refrain myself from speaking on the matter.

Mrs. Edwina stood in front of the entire guest's, and she thanked them for coming. Derek and his siblings went over, and they stood next to their mother.

Everything went on smoothly until it was time to head home—the guest's left after welcoming Derek. Mrs. Edwina was happy that her son had arrived, but then again, it wasn't the same for his siblings, most especially his brother, Samuel.

"Hey, I'll be back."

Justin got a phone call and left me with Derek.

But shortly after, he also left and went to his mother.

In the evening, I went to the kitchen for a cup of tea. I was there when Samson came, and he also wanted a cup of tea.

I prepared the tea for the both of us and then served him before leaving for my room.

"Hold on, Sarah!".

He stopped me from leaving the kitchen, and I turned back and faced him with a grin on my face.

"Yeah! Do you need anything?". I implored..

"No, but can I ask you some questions?". He pulled the cup of tea away.

I came back, but not too close, and replied.

"What do you want to ask me?".

He gled at my face and then said, "Sarah, since you work for my brother, you must know who he is, right?".

"Yeah, a werewolf." I responded..

"But a cursed one, do you not know?".

The look on his face darkened.

His questions came off as suspicious, but despite that, I still answered him.

"He told me... Is there anything else you want to know?".I did a dramatic pause before continuing...

"Yeah, do you mind if I take a strain of your head?".He paused after his ridiculous request...

"My hair? What do you mean?". I implored..

"Sarah, can you just trust me; what if I tell you that, you might be the savior my family needs?".He stood up from his chair, came forward, and extended his hand.

"Please! Trust me". He continued..

I barely knew him, but there was something believable about his request. And so I pulled out a strain of my hair and gave it to him.

"Thank you, Sarah." He caressed my cheeks after putting my hair on his handkerchief...

I went back to my bedroom and retired for the evening. But the next morning, the sound of music playing so loud woke me up from my slumber; I had to come downstairs to see what was going on.

Eleanor saw me and dragged me to dance. I had no idea what was happening. And shortly after, Justin came down, and he was also dragged to the dance floor.

"Hey! What is happening?".

Derek came out of his bedroom after witnessing us dancing.

"Bro! Guess what?". Samson grabbed his hand and pulled him toward me. "Bro, why am I looking at Sarah?".Derek turned to his brother and asked.

"It's simple, bro," he said, looking at me again and then back to his brother. "Last night, I had a conversation with Sarah, and I also took a strain of her hair. I went to the Sharman, and he told me that." He paused for some minutes before continuing, "Sarah is the answer to breaking our curse."
